“THE KING WILL COME AT MIDNIGHT. HE IS ON THE WAY.”

When Alina heard about the king, she felt somehow strange in her heart. She thought she was feeling afraid of him.

Atlas heard that his son was coming then he felt relaxed. His son won another war. He never showed his worry to others but he cared for his son. His son was very powerful and that was what he cared for. His son’s invisible enemies were everywhere.

“Crystal, go to your room and get fresh. Come to have dinner after then.” Atlas told Crystal and left the living room.

Alina was looking at the empty place where Atlas was standing a few minutes ago. She didn’t know why this man disliked her so much. When she came here ten years ago with her father, he behaved exactly the same. He ignored her as if she did not deserve a talk.

Daisy looked at Alina and smiled at her. “He is not used to new people. You are here because of your parents right?”

Alina nodded at her. “Yes, Do you know where they are?”

“They went to another pack.”

Alina was shocked. “But why?” She thought her parents left their pack without saying anything to her.

“Maybe they have some important work. I don’t know if you can meet them before going back but you can call them and ask them to come back.”

Alina was confused. Why would her parents go to some other pack? She didn’t want to call them. What if they scold her for coming here without informing them?

Daisy called a maid and said, “Take her to a guest room. She is our guest.”

The maid nodded and bowed to Daisy. She signaled Alina with her hand to follow her.

Alina looked at Crystal. Crystal nodded at her, “Let’s go.”

Alina went to one of the guest rooms. It was so big from her room in the dorm. She looked around and saw there was a window. She went to the window. She could see the forest side from the window. She was happy with her new room.

But she was upset with her parents. Her parents never called her once in these five years. She never asked for money from them, she did jobs in restaurants as a part time worker day and night and earned money for her tuition fees. But still, her parents never tried to contact her.

She took a shower and wore a simple white full sleeve knee-length dress. She wiped her hair and combed it. She then took out all her clothes from her luggage and set them in the big closet in the room.

“Wow, the closet is really big. Even I can fit here.” Alina said to herself and laughed.

She heard a knock on the door. “Come in.”

A maid came and said, “Please come downstairs for dinner. Everyone is waiting for you.”

Alina nodded and immediately walked out of her room.

She went to the dining room and saw everyone eating.

“Alina, come and sit.” Crystal said happily.

Alina went to sit beside her.

There were so many different dishes on the table

that she was amazed.

She started eating. Atlas looked at her and asked, “Did you call your parents?”

Alina looked at him and said, “No, I didn’t but I will call them soon. When they come back, I will leave the pack house.”

Daisy shook her head. “No, it’s okay. You can stay here as long as you want. You are our guest so you don’t have to worry.”

Crystal looked at Daisy and thought, ‘She never talked to me in this sweet tone.’

“Thanks, aunt Daisy,” Alina said and smiled at her.

“Alina eat, your food is getting cold.” Crystal said and didn’t let the conversation proceed further.

After dinner, everyone went back to their room. Alina was sitting on the bed and playing games on her phone. She was surprised that their pack had now networks. It was not like it was an old town or something. But she just thought she could not get networks here because every time Crystal came here, she didn’t call her for once. When she asked Crystal she always said she could not call her because there were no networks in the pack house.

“Did you lie to me, Crystal? But why would you? No, maybe the networks came recently. Maybe that was why mom and dad could not call me.” She told herself.

There was a little hope in her heart built when she thought about her parents.

When she lived with them, they always ignored her. They even sent her outside the pack without her consent. She cried that day a lot. She didn’t want to go anywhere. She wanted to live with her parents. Her parents scolded her and said that she was not a child anymore and she needed to go outside, it was mandatory. So she agreed and went outside the pack to study.

Alina was thirsty so she looked around but could not find water. So she slowly opened the door and came out of her room. The whole floor was dark. She understood that everyone was sleeping.

She slowly walked out of the corner where her room was and went to find the kitchen room. But she saw a maid and she didn’t know in this palace like mansion where the kitchen area was.

She reached the living room. She felt the moon light on her. Moonlight was coming from the window blinds.

She didn’t know how and when she went to the other side of the mansion, she looked around and also saw moonlight on the floor coming from the window. Today the moon was shining so lightly.

Suddenly, she felt a strange smell. She paused and stopped her step. She could feel the smell coming so fast to her. She frowned at herself. Why did she stop?

She sniffed the smell from the air and closed her eyes, it was so alluring that she almost lost her mind.

Before she could open her eyes she felt that the smell was coming behind her. Then she heard the deepest voice which she had never heard. The voice made her legs tremble and shivers ran down her body.

“WHO ARE YOU?”
