Chapter 59

The next morning I am woken up at the butt c***k of dawn by Beta Julian knocking on the door. I thought about pretending I didn;t hear him but I knew I could not.I tell him to enter instantly feeling like something was wrong.

“Princess Ryder, we have a problem. There were some rumors started yesterday that manifested into full out fights across the pack.” He looked furious and nervous.

“Well, s**t. Who started the rumors? Who has been fighting? Have we separated them and put both sides somewhere locked down so we can get to the bottom of everything?” I pushed myself up so I could started getting around to take care of it.

“It was Melanie and her family along with their friends.” He looked at the ground. “I should of taken their insults and threats more serious. I just thought it was them pissed that they wouldn’t be alpha females like they kept telling everyone they would be.”

“I get it. Its hard to see the bad in the people we grew up around and in the kids you have watched grow up. I figured the one who backed Melanie up were more followers but they have just as much claim to being traitors to the pack as Melanie. Have you found them?” I twirled my finger so he would turn around while still talking. I had to get my clothes and head to the bathroom to change. I saw my mom wake up and I put my finger to mouth for her to stay quiet.

“They have turned several members of the pack against you and the royal family with lies. They are all waiting by the packhouse to get you thrown out. Melanie is really pushing for a fight so she can kill you… I mean try to kill you. She hasn’t trained a day in her life.” He laughed but it was weak. I knew he was hurting for the mistake he made and for the fact that it even came to this.

“Someone wants to kill my baby? I think f*****g not. I will damn that b***h back to hell where she came from!” My mother yelled, jumping up looking like a boxer ready for his title match. I barely made it to the bathroom to change before laughing so hard I think I pulled a muscle.

“I want to know why you didn’t punish this she-wolf when she first treated my daughter like s**t!” Mom yelled.

I could hear her clear as day even with the door shut. I had to open the door and tell them to quiet down. They both looked at me like I was crazy. I just stuck my head back in the door and took a quick shower. The hot water felt amazing on my skin and it was like I could make out each droplet as it hit my skin.

I dried off quickly and got dressed. I rushed back out into the room to see my mother and Julian to still be facing off. They both turned toward me like I had done something crazy. I just giggled and ran toward my mom.

“My senses are strengthened. All of them!” I twirled my mom around the room with the biggest, goofiest smile on my face.

‘Baby, what’s going on? Has Julian been to speak with you yet? We would have been by but we are handling several things here at the packhouse. We made a mistake on leaving her to her own devices.’ Andrew mind linked. I forgot they could feel what I was feeling in our mate bond when the emotion was big enough.

‘I realized how strong all my senses are now! I saw each drop of water hit my skin in the shower. On the Melanie situation I will be handling it and her. Next time someone tries to step on my claim to you I get to take care of it as soon as it happens, and you will stand by my side.’ I almost shouted my answers as I mind linked.

‘I know and we are all sorry. That is crazy about your senses. We need to test out things out to see how we have improved. We need to make sure we can stand with you to win your rightful place back.’ I felt him smile at that. Blue sent a purr back and I turned back toward my mother.

“Ok. Let’s go face this devil head on. I am excited to test our my new strength and maybe a new ability to show them how much of a liar she is.” I walked out of the room ready for a fight.

It took about ten minutes to reach the back of the crowd. Julian linked the pack to move aside using his Beta voice. None could fight it even when they tried. I had to hold in a smirk to watch them lose their fight against their command. They think they can take me on when they can’t even do that. Ridiculous!

I smelt that scheming crazy b***h before seeing her. It was one of the most horrible smells I have ever smelt. It was a mix of sewer, daisies, and rot like she was rotten to the core. I should of known she was a bad apple.

Once I finally made it to the front where my mates were standing I turned toward the crowd and felt the guys surround me. I knew they would have my back and would always protect me. It made me safe and more positive that this would all work out in the end. I stepped forward to speak but the crowd had just started yelling back and forth again. At least no fights have broke out just yet.

I screamed, “QUIET!” No response or change in the crowd. Blue stepped forward in my mind but I held her off. I wanted to try out what other changes have happened.

“Need help, Love?” Kane asked from beside me. I shook my head no and winked at him before starting again.

“I SAID FOR YOU ALL TO SHUT YOUR SNOUTS!” I put all my power behind it. I felt this tingly sensation in the middle of my chest and I focused on it. I pulled from it and pushed it along with my power making my voice louder than the crowd could ever be.

The whole crowd stopped everything and turned toward me. They all had eyes full of shock and some with envy. A few select with anger and jealousy which made me sing a happy tune in my head. I eyed from left to right covering the whole crowd so they knew that I meant business because I was done. A pack divided is a dead pack guaranteed.

“Well now then let’s get to the bottom of all the commotion. I have heard a few rumors are roaming around about me and I think it is time I put an end to them…” I stared at Melanie and sneered. “So how about the person or people who decided to lie about myself should step forward and speak now so I don’t have to punish the sheep that followed you.” I knew the sheep comment would piss of her followers but it was true. I have given no reason to doubt me with everything I have done for this pack including taking out the old leader who draining them dry and who treated them like trash.

I waited while everyone just looked around at everyone else. No one wanted to out anyone but they sure as hell weren’t going to take the blame. That would take balls and the strength of an Alpha. I rolled my eyes and was about to start using my Alpha voice to get what I wanted done but someone stepped forward.

I looked over to the crowd gasping and parting so someone could come forward. I heard whispers telling them to stay back and to keep their mouth shut but they didn’t. Suddenly a child walked out holding the hand of a teenage girl who looked rough in her ragged clothes and dirty face. Both of them were girls and were too skinny. Have they been in this pack this whole time? Why hadn’t I seen them? Damn I had to try harder. I needed this pack in order so we could focus our attentions elsewhere. It was like it was never ending.

“Princess.” The little girl spoke so softly. I smiled at her before waving my hand at her to walk closer. I kneeled down in front of them both and heard more noises from the crowd but I didn’t care.

“Hello there, Beautiful. What is your name?” I held my hand out to see if she would take it. She smiled shyly before shaking my hand.

“My name is Tracy. I know who started it all but I need a promise to keep my mommy safe, please. I need her to take care of me and my sister.” She looked scared like I would get mad at her request and hurt her. Damn these shitty alphas who make us all look bad.

“Hello Tracy. What is your sisters name?” I looked at the sister more closely and saw bruises on her face and neck.

“Her name is Dolly. Please grant my mommy safety. I…Nnneeed. Her.” I could hear her start to tear up and I put my arms out so she knew she could have a hug if she wanted one. She instantly ran into my arms and hugged me tight. I looked at her sister who was crying as well. I waved her over as well. She walked over slowly before hugging us both.

“It’s going to be ok. Just take a deep breath and when your ready we can come to an agreement!” I whispered.

“Oh bother. Let those cry babies go run back to their parents and you renounce your claim in our alpha’s so you can leave our pack before someone does it by force!” No clue who yelled this from the crowd, but everyone heard it. My mates growled a warning and things were starting to turn for the worse again.

I kissed both of the girls cheeks before stepping back. I grabbed their hands and looked out at the crowd before speaking. “I have decided to grant Tracy’s request.” I look at her and smile. “I, Princess Ryder, will promise to keep your mommy safe from harm dealing with the fall out of this upset.” She nods before pointing at the guilty wolves.
