"And he must tell me that he was wrong! Then, I'll consider the matter settled."

Emmanuel also wanted to seize the opportunity to make Matthew bow his head to him. Only by doing so could he drive Peace Clinic away. "Matthew, this is your chance. As long as you slap yourself a hundred times, your new drug can enter the hospital!" Matthew's gaze was icy, and just as he was about to speak, a voice came from beside him. "How dare you ask Dr. Grant to slap himself?"

Emmanuel turned to see Lance and was momentarily stunned. He then hurriedly went over to shake the latter's hand. "Mr. Stanford, what are you doing here? Why didn't you inform us you were coming? I could've gone to get you." Lance slapped Emmanuel's extended hand away and said sternly, "Didn't you ask Dr. Grant to slap himself? Now that you're a hospital director, you've become lawless!"

Emmanuel turned pale from fear and hurriedly explained, "Mr. Stanford, it wasn't me... It was Baxter who had a misunderstanding with Dr. Grant. I don't even know what happened between them. You've misunderstood me!" Upong realizing that Lance was supporting Matthew, Baxter was frightened silly. "Mr. Stanford, I-I... was just talking nonsense. I was just joking with Dr. Grant. Don't take it seriously!"

Lance replied coldly, "There's no use apologizing to me. You should apologize to Dr. Grant!"

Baxter nodded repeatedly. "Yes, I'll apologize to Dr. Grant. I'll apologize to him right now."

With that, he went up to Matthew and said, "Dr. Grant, I was talking nonsense just now. Please don't take it to heart."

Matthew responded coldly, "Get lost!"

Baxter didn't dare to leave. If he did, his future would be over. He raised his hand and slapped his face. "I was wrong. I'm an idiot. I shouldn't look down on people. I'm sorry. I was stupid and angered you, Dr. Grant..." He apologized while slapping himself.

Seeing Baxter slapping himself so fiercely, Emmanuel was terrified. How did Matthew know Lance?

Knowing he had to back down that day, he walked up to Rachel and said, "Ms. Carter, your new drug can be sent to the hospital tomorrow-no, today. I'll immediately arrange for the warehouse to receive it and notify every attending doctor to prioritize your company's drugs for their patients."

Rachel didn't expect this turn of events. She didn't have time to think and just wanted to complete the task, so she took out a contract. "Good. Let's sign the partnership contract stating our long-term cooperation."

Emmanuel didn't even look through the contract and signed it immediately.

Seeing that the contract was signed, Matthew coldly shouted at Baxter, who was still slapping himself, "Get lost!"

Baxter felt like he was granted amnesty. "I'm leaving. I'm leaving right now. Goodbye, Mr. Stanford. I'll go to your house in a few days to apologize."

He then left hastily.

Emmanuel approached Lance and said, "Mr. Stanford, I'll bring Baxter to your house to apologize in a few days. I won't bother you today."

Lance understood the implication of coming to his house to apologize; it essentially meant them bringing gifts. These two fools at least knew what to do. "Get lost. I'll be waiting for you two at home!"

Emmanuel quickly left, running out the door as if he had stolen something and feared that someone would catch him.

Only three customers remained at Zen Coffee House.

Matthew sat down and waved at a distant waiter. "Bring me a cup of coffee."

Seeing that the situation had calmed down, a waiter came out from hiding and brought over a pour-over coffee set. Holding a gooseneck kettle, he gracefully poured water over the specialty coffee grounds.

Then, he served Matthew a cup. "Enjoy, sir."

Matthew smiled and thanked him.

Beside him, Rachel kept thanking Lance. "Thank you so much. If you hadn't come, I don't know what unreasonable demands they would've made."

Lance quickly waved his hand. "No

need to thank me. Actually, I came here to ask Dr. Grant for a favor it wasjust a coincidence that ran into this situation."

Rachel was surprised. "Oh, I see."

Earlier, she had been mentally cursing Matthew for delaying her matters. But now, she realized that he was the one who had helped her accomplish them.

Seeing Matthew leisurely sipping his

coffee, she felt a mix of emotions. He was sometimes a pervert who always caused trouble. But other times, he seemed to have a magical way of resolving things.

Matthew took a sip of coffee and asked Lance, "Tell me. What did you urgently want to tell me on the phone?"
