Chapter 155

At Haven House, Wanda was staring at Harvey in shock.

""Mr. Locke?"

Harvey ran a hand across his tired face, regaining his composure. "Where's Maddie?"

"Ms. Locke has already gone to bed. Do you need me to wake her?"

Harvey quickly replied, "No, that's fine. Just prepare the room you arranged for me earlier. I've moved out of the Locke residence."

Wanda blinked in surprise but quickly responded, "I understand."

The guest room Harvey stayed in previously was cleaned daily, so it just needed a quick touch-up.

As Harvey wheeled his suitcase inside, he turned back to Wanda. "Thank you. I'm sorry for troubling you so late."

Wanda shook her head and said, "No trouble at all! It's my job."

They then both wished each other goodnight.

As the door clicked shut behind him, Wanda let out a silent squeal of excitement. Harvey was so handsome that she couldn't help but gush internally. He wasn't just good-looking; he was polite, gentle, and carried himself with such grace. "Stop daydreaming." Yara floated up beside Wanda and rested her hand on her shoulder. "He already has someone he likes."

Wanda was used to Yara's sudden appearances and casually brushed off her hand. "Can't I just admire him? Can't I just take him as eye candy?"

Yara smirked knowingly and hooked her arm around Wanda's. "Madison may have divined that there's no chance for you to be with Harvey, but she didn't say anything about the dead.

"All those curses about being destined for loneliness? They don't apply to ghosts. I could totally find you a dead guy who's super handsome, rich, funny, and classy. How about it?" Wanda rolled her eyes. "No thanks."

But Yara pressed on, "Come on! I mean really handsome, like the kind of guys you see on the big screen!"

Wanda paused mid-step, looping her arm through Yara's. "Alright, tell me more about this. So, what you're saying is that I can pick any type of guy? Whoever I want?"

The next morning, Madison found Harvey in the dining room. She didn't look the least bit surprised. She calmly walked down the stairs and joined him for breakfast.

After wiping his mouth with a napkin, Harvey finally said, "I'll be staying here for a while."

"Okay."

Harvey hesitated. He didn't get up or say anything more.

Madison asked, "Are you wondering if there's still a chance between you and her?"

Harvey shook his head. "No. Now that I've seen her, I'll handle everything myself from here."

He lifted his gaze, meeting Madison's eyes with sincerity. "Before this, I only knew that our parents were biased toward Rebecca, and I

knew you had suffered. But I didn't really understand what kind of suffering you went through. Now, I get it.

"Maddie, I'm sorry. I'm apologizing for what I did before. As your older brother, I didn't protect you when you came home. I didn't step up when you needed support. I even warned you, and that's the thing I shouldn't have done." Madison was stunned. She had thought Harvey came to ask about his chances with Serena. She hadn't expected him to apologize for his past actions.

She stood there, speechless.

Seeing Madison's reaction, Harvey felt a pang in his chest, the guilt deepening. "I can't apologize for the rest of the family, but I'll protect you from now on, I promise."

Madison blinked, "Thank you, Harvey."

"There's no need to thank me. It's what I should've been doing all along." Harvey stood up, finally ready to leave. "I'll be heading back to Locke Corporation today to wrap up my work, and after that, I'm going to look for Serena."
