Chapter 34 - Sex Trafficking and Trolls

* The Castle at Drakor; The Capital of the Chromos * Lucian POV

Advisor and Lord Forest has requested my council along with the royal guard's four lieutenants. This is highly unusual so I'm curious as to what the subject is. "Lord Forest, why do you seek council with myself and the lieutenants? "It has been made aware to me that an underground sex trafficking ring is operating in the empire. This is very concerning to me as it violates both the ban on slaves and prostitution. I have a young lady with me, Miss Elena, that sold as a sex slave many times and is prepared to testify against these atrocities." Lord Forest turns to a young woman sitting next to him. She has a tiny frame with long black hair and big green eyes.

"I was originally sold by my parents at the age of 10 to a brothel inside the Kingdom of Cait. Since then I have been sold various times to different manors across the Kingdom alongside the southern border of the empire. I am here to request asylum in exchange for the names and locations of the manors and brothels." Elena speaks so softly that her voice is barely above a whisper.

"The empire recently acquired the Kingdom of Cait within our borders so will grant you asylum. But, why did you come here instead of going to the castle in Cait?" I believe the girl as she has no reason to lie but I'm curious as to why she traveled all the way here.

"During my time as captive I was sold to King Rufus during a party. I stayed with him at the castle for a week so I knew I could not seek asylum from him. I didn't know until I met Lord Forest that King Rufus had been removed from power and Cait was now a part of the empire." She explains.

"What are the lord's names and locations?" I can easily send word to Cyprian of the names of people that need to be arrested and let him raid any brothel locations to close them down.

"The brothel was located just outside of Aberdeen. Lord Aragon and his goons ran the brothel. Lord Aragon was also a steady customer as was Lord Cranborne of Penshaw Village." Elena says quietly.

Looking at how timid Elena is and how she seems to flinch whenever one of us moves tells a lot about the abuse that she suffered. Thinking of a woman being used and abused makes my blood boil. I may fly to Cait and help Cyprian dispose of these lords personally.

* Bredon: Capital City of the Salona Kingdom* Emily POV

Packing up and moving my father to Bredon, the capital city of the Salona Kingdom, was no easy task but we made the move. Wolf helped me find a place to stay in Bredon. He offered for us to stay in the castle but I wanted a place for just dad and I alone. The royal doctor has been by a few times to check on dad's arthritis and has given him more ointment to ease the pain.

Our new home is in the residential section of Bredon. It has a kitchen, dining room, library, study, sitting room, and two bedrooms. It's the most spacious place I have ever lived. The bedrooms are nearly the same size as our old house! Wolf bought additional furniture to help furnish the house and hired a cook and a maid so dad and I have nothing to worry about.

My father and I are supposed to meet Wolf at the castle for dinner. I feel so excited but I'm not sure what to wear. I'm planning on going to the market tomorrow to buy material for some new dresses. I walk into my room and on my bed, completely naked, is Lord Garbg! I scream but before I can recover from the shock and move He's already at the door to my room and holding it shut. He has such a wicked look in his eye that I'm afraid what he's going to do. Lord Garbg POV

Since Emily has left for Bredon I have been going out of my mind. I really didn't expect her to leave. Why did she leave with King Wolf? She has everything she needs right here in Roselake especially me! He must have forced her to go with him. That's the only thing that makes sense. I need to go and rescue her.

It's not hard finding out where she's staying in Bredon because everyone is gossiping about the house in town that the king has purchased. Some people are calling her his mistress and others think she is somehow related to the king. But I know the real story. I know that he's forced her to stay there and I'm supposed to rescue her.

I climb the trellis on the back of the house and climb into a bedroom. I check the wardrobe to make sure this is Emily's room. It might get awkward if I was in her father's room. Then, I undress and lay down in her bed in a very seductive pose. Emily walks in screams and then turns to leave but I make it to the door before she can leave the room. She must be overwhelmed by me in all my glory and unsure what to do.

* Penshaw Village: A Small Village in the Kingdom of Cait * Cyprian POV

I hate leaving Molle at the castle because of how she was treated by Jillian, the head maid. I'm worried without my presence she'll get bullied again but I have to go to Penshaw. The village and the manor has become overrun by trolls. Trolls will destroy and infect everything they touch. They are the cockroaches of the supernatural world. They leave their filth everywhere they go, they kill humans with their big jaws of pointy teeth, they smell like rotten eggs, and they even eat livestock. Their teeth are laced with venom temporarily paralyzing their victim.

I leave with one platoon and Lieutenant Harms. As we approach Penshaw all of the telltale signs of trolls are there. The roads are covered in their filth, dead livestock that have been ripped to shreds litter the roadside, and the smell of rotten eggs fills the air. I can see a troll crawling along the side of one of the buildings. He's aiming to escape into the building's attic but one of my archers sends an arrow into it's back knocking him down. Every building has to be searched to find all of the trolls as many will hide inside away from the daylight as they prefer to come out at night. I walk into the first building and a troll sitting in the rafters jumps down on my back and bites into my shoulder. I grab his head and throw him across the room. The whole left side of my body is numb with the venom. I try hobbling across the room with my sword in hand when an archer comes in and shoots the troll with an arrow directly in its heart. He falls to the ground dead. Finally the paralysis is starting to wear off and I make my way to the next building. There are two more trolls hiding in the next building but I'm ready for them this time. I cut off the head of one of the trolls and my archer nails another one that is hiding in the rafters. We leave the building and meet my other men in the village center. All of the trolls in the village have been killed. A group of soldiers have left for the manor to kill those trolls. All of the troll bodies are gathered into a large heap and burned so they don't attract other trolls.

The platoon and Lieutenant Harms have this under control so I change into my dragon form and fly back to the castle. I have to find a new lord to take over the manor and hopefully villagers will return. A small group of survivors had approached Harms back in Cait concerning the tolls and now that the village and manor is troll free hopefully they will return.

When I get back to Cait Lucian is waiting for me. To have him come visit, without Viola, cannot be anything good. I show him into one of the meeting rooms so we can talk.

"Cyprian, it has come to my attention that Aberdeen is home to a brothel run by Lord Aragon. Also, Lord Cranborne of Penshaw Village has been named as a frequent customer. Lord Aragon is supposed to be running an underground sex trafficking ring out of the brothel. The girls are being sold against their will. We need to put a stop to this now as this violates the ban on slaves and prostitution in the empire." Lucian says with a hint of anger in his voice. "I knew there was something off about Aragon! He's the lord that had my mate enslaved. I've been looking for a reason to take him down." I say through gritted teeth.
