"Drew, stop it. Any more, and you'll start sounding like an old uncle."

After breakfast, Drew packed his belongings in the morning and left Yara Park.

Throughout the day, Yvonne kept herself busy around the Thompson household, lending a hand wherever needed. She helped Mila organize Larson Biotech's project materials, whipped up some soup with Celeste, and tended to the horses together with Sasha. Yvonne even assisted Amelia, who was close to her due date, with her shower.

She was always diligent, but today, her focus seemed even more intense. She wanted to keep herself busy, all the while anticipating the arrival of night.

After the Thompson family dinner, they gathered in the living room, chatting and laughing in a warm, harmonious atmosphere.

Yvonne sat there quietly and patiently, waiting until everyone had retired to their rooms. Only then did she get up to assist the maids in clearing the fruit peels and shells from the coffee table. "Yvonne."

Yvonne froze. She turned toward the voice and saw Wyatt, who was being supported by Quentin, standing a few steps away looking at her.

"C-Chairman Thompson," Yvonne stammered, feeling tense as she straightened up.

Up until now, Wyatt had always addressed her politely as "Ms. Smith."

He knew about her relationship with his son but never openly objected or supported it. It was always subtle, distant, and understated.

But this was the first time Wyatt called her "Yvonne," just like he addressed the other children in the family.

No wonder her heart was fluttering!

"We've known each other for so long. So why the formality?" Wyatt said warmly. "Don't call me Chairman Thompson anymore. What do young people say these days?"

Quentin chimed in, "It sounds way too formal."

"Exactly, too formal. Just go with Uncle Wyatt."

"Uncle Wyatt," Yvonne answered Wyatt in a soft, constrained tone.

Wyatt noticed the trash clutched in her hands and felt sorrowful.

He spoke gently, "Yvonne, you're my son's girlfriend, a guest of honor and family. These chores are for the maids. You don't need to do them yourself."

The word "family" struck Yvonne like a tidal wave, filling her eyes with tears. Her lips quivered, but she did not say a word.

"This morning, Drew came to see me

before he left for work. Yvonne, do you know how long it's been since my son, and I had a proper conversation? It's been years since he said goodbye to me before leaving on a trip, and it's all because

of you."

Wyatt's grin widened, his joy evident. "Moreover, he told me he wants to marry you. As soon as he gets back, he wants to officially register your marriage and even asked me to come along to witness the whole process.

"Yvonne, you have no idea how

happy that made me. Drew, who's never asked me for anything, finally came to me with a request. For the majority of his life, I've been more like a stranger, barely involved in his world. But thanks to you, I feel like I his dad again. He opened up to me and showed me his desires. He wants you."

Yvonne listened quietly, tears streaming down her face.

No wonder Drew had disappeared for a while that morning. So, that was what he had been up to.

Yet he had kept this from her. She had no idea!

"Yvonne, the truth is I've already

accepted you for some time now. I just never found the right time to tell you. Drew is wholeheartedly devoted to you for life. But I must ask, are you ready to walk this journey with him? He's got his fair share of quirks, his work situation is unstable, and he's often away from home. So, are you willing to marry him?"

Known for his commanding presence, Wyatt seemed unusually cautious and timid in front of Yvonne.

"I... I... I'm willing," Yvonne murmured through her tears, her voice barely audible.

"Wonderful! Excellent!" Wyatt's face lit up with delight. He gave the armrest a hearty slap. "Drew told me before he left that you might hesitate about registering the marriage immediately. He was concerned you might still be uncertain. "But don't worry. I'll give him a call later and tell him to focus on his work and come back soon to marry you!"
