The Blue Wolf -
Chapter 7
Arabella’s Perspective:
Will had a very relaxed expression on his face as he crossed his arms comfortably. This annoys me further. This guy or I guess werewolf had just kidnapped me, held me against my will, refused my request to leave, and was acting like everything was all good.
I asked, “So what did you do?”
He sighed and looked at my face intensely, it made me uncomfortable, I looked away. “Okay, well first of all you were out for about a day and a half. I got my agents to make a portfolio on you, a couple of days back, so that’s how I got your mothers number, I called her, and told her that you were sleeping, but you had been encountered by some thugs, and I just so happened to be walking in the alley at that moment, so I saved you, but your phone broke, and I told her you were staying at my house, she was pretty worried but I told her you were fine, and that my uncle was a doctor and he stitched your jaw up. I told her you’d be staying here for a while. I also sent a picture of you to her.”
He was going to continue but I interrupted him “Didn’t my mom ask, who you were?” He looked away from me and didn’t answer. I asked again with irritation and impatience in my voice “Who’d you tell her you were?” He snapped back “Your boyfriend.”
I didn’t let my anger get me yet, because I wanted the rest of the information first: “Um, and my job?” Now he looked angry again. Man, this guy with his bipolar mood swings. It’s like he was happy, then shy, then confused, then mad, then jealous for no apparent reason, then respectful.
This guy needed help. He stood up and paced back and forth for a few minutes. Oh god. Had he killed Emile? I knew he was very capable of doing so. He took out those eleven wolves like it was nothing. I stayed sitting on his bed waiting for his answer. He came back and sat down in the same spot again. When he spoke again, for the next thirty seconds, it’s like two people were speaking at once.
“I gave your letter of resignation. And I told your manager and that loser you were in an accident and it’d be a long time before you recovered.”
Even though I was fuming. I was still relieved he didn’t do anything to my friends. With a fake calm voice, I said “And my apartment?” He said “It’ll stay the way it is, rent will be paid every month. Once you’re comfortable here. I’ll let you go back and get whatever you want.”
I was about to start yelling when Will said “I need you to talk to your mom and tell her you’re okay. If you pull anything. I’ll end the phone call before you can even blink.”
I shuddered to remember how that guy was in front of me within a millisecond, and how my phone broke into twenty different pieces. I just nodded, he took his phone out of his jeans, dialed my mother’s number, and put it on the speaker:
My mother picked up on the first ring: “Arabella Lily Lone! What the hell have I told you about walking alone at night? Why the hell didn’t you take a taxi? Thank god William was there.” Will smiled cockily at this. I rolled my eyes. It broke my heart lying to my mom but I did it anyway, so she wouldn’t worry her a*s off. “Mom, I’m okay, it was only like a few stitches, I’m okay now, Will’s…..um….uncle just wants to keep me under observation for a while.”
My mom said, “Okay, you can trust him, he’s a very nice man.” I said, “Yeah Dr. Edwards is groovy.” My mom laughed lightly “Alright, you get some rest, my love, call me from Will’s phone soon, I’m leaving for work now.”
I said, “Okay Mom, talk to you soon.” Then Will cut the call and put his phone back into his pocket.
I was so angry. I was shaking. He was completely unaffected by my reaction as he said “Arabella, you should eat that.” He handed me the bowl, I took a few bites of the shrimp-fried rice and felt nauseated. I put it back down on the tray and took a sip of the chocolate milk, which made me feel even more nauseated.
When Will saw my disgusted expression, he said “What’s wrong?” I looked at him with an expression that said (OH ISN’T it obvious? I’ve just been abducted and now some stranger is telling me I can’t leave.)
I said, “Nothing, I don’t feel hungry.” He said, “Are you sure Arabella?” He’s saying my name again and again like we were old friends, was making me want to punch him in the face it was making me want to kill him.
He got up un-emotionally, taking the tray with him, and walking to the door, before he left he turned and said “Arabella, I’ll be back in twenty-ish minutes, I would suggest you should take a shower or freshen up if you’d like, and choose a more appropriate outfit then the one you’re wearing, from my closet, there are lots of sweats and sweatshirts in there, the clothes you were wearing are still getting dried, they’ll be brought here, later in the day. Under my bed, there are some slip-on shoes for you, and also a pair of runners. When I come back, we’ll go down a floor, to my living room. I’ll introduce you to my parents, siblings, and Michael and his mate Loren.”
Before I could say anything, Will was already gone. I looked around the room for any exits and found nothing. I decided there was nowhere I could go, to try and escape until I needed to get to know the location I was in better.
I got two towels, one for my long thick hair, one for my body, a pair of sweats, and a large sweatshirt from Will’s closet. And stepped into the washroom. In a basket by one of the smaller tubs, I saw toothbrushes, toothbrush covers, and toothpaste. I decided to brush my teeth first and then put away my toothbrush, in one of the other baskets, with the cover on it.
I took a really quick shower, doing everything rapidly. I got out, put my hair in a towel. Then dried my body. I saw some moisturizer on the counter. I used some. And then put on my clothes. The sweats were a little loose, I was never what I’d call skinny, but I wasn’t unhealthy either, I was always a bit of a bigger girl, my stomach was never totally flat, and my broad shoulders and back always gave me more of an athletic build.
Although William was lean, he had a very strong and broad build, that’s why his sweats were a little big on me, anyways I pulled the strings tightly and did a tight bow. I left my hair in my towel and I walked out with my other towel, and the clothes I was wearing before.
When I walked into the room. Will was already sitting on his bed, talking to someone on his phone.
I threw my stuff into the laundry hamper not too far away from his bed. And then took off my towel and started drying my hair, until I felt satisfied, then I threw that in the hamper too.
