The Blue Wolf -
Chapter 22
Arabella’s Perspective:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
William’s Perspective:
I and Arabella started walking back to my house. Arabella kept letting go of my hand and I kept grabbing her hand. We did this a few times until she stopped in her tracks abruptly and said “Stop grabbing my hand, I’m not your baby.” I leaned into her and kissed the skin of the crook of her neck. “But you are, you are my baby.” She pulled away from me, irritated, and started walking the other way, again. Where was she going now?
I wanted to scream. I grabbed her arm, she yanked it out of my grasp. Suddenly I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder, she yelped and said “Let me down.” I said, “I will, once we’re in the house.” When we got to my door, five minutes later, I opened the door, walked in, and put Arabella down. She looked at me with a mad expression. I leaned in to k**s her. She moved away from me.
Before she could put her foot on the first stair of the staircase, I said “Do you want breakfast?” Her expression changed immediately “Yes.” I extended my arm out to her “Then come on.” She came to me and put her arms around my neck. I hugged her back. Then we walked to the kitchen. She said, “Are you cooking?”
I said “Yes, please sit on the stool. And please don’t go anywhere again, even if you’re angry, take it out on me. Don’t go through.” She sat on the stool “Why?” I turned to her, then looked her in the eyes “Cause it hurts Arabella. That’s why? It hurts to see you walking away.”
I put two plates on the counter beside me and got the stuff I needed from the fridge, then started cooking. She said, “Where’d you learn how to cook?” I laughed “I mean like this is basic stuff obviously, but my mom used to watch the cooking channel a lot, and sometimes I’d sit with my mom and watch with her, so I just picked up whatever I know from those shows.”
I said, “What about you?” She said “Yeah I’d say I’m a good cook, but not like advanced or anything. I think I make some good meals, like soups, good pasta. Breakfast stuff, but I’m not good with baking though.” I said, “I don’t know how to bake either.” She laughed “That’s why we have our beloved Murry.” I smiled at her comment, while I continued cooking. When I was done, I watched her watch me place two plates of eggs, toast, and bacon. I placed the dirty pans and butter knife in the sink and ran water over them.
I put her plate in front of her, and mine right beside hers. I opened the fridge and asked what she wanted to drink? She said “Orange Juice.” I poured us both a glass of orange juice and then I sat down too. We ate in silence. I waited for her to say something but she never did. I wanted her to start the conversation. And she did eventually.
Arabella’s Perspective:
After the night and morning we just had, I had no idea what the right thing was to talk about. Honestly, I did find it sort of hot how possessive Will was of me. But the controlling part of it was what I disliked. But I guess if I accepted him now I’d have to deal with that too. After Gem explained everything to me last night I felt much more confident about being this pack’s Luna. But I didn’t want to fully give in to the pull I felt with Willam yet.
I could hear Will getting impatient about the silence. So I finally turned to Will “What’s your wolf’s name?” Will chuckled lightly and said “Moses” I smiled my big smile and I said “What? really?” Will laughed more “Yeah I don’t know why, but it’s Moses.” I reached out with my hand and cupped the side of Will’s face. His expression became extremely soft and he was about to say something when I heard Sami mind link me saying:
“A group of our kids were running in the woods and drifted out way too far to where the humans hunt, and for some weird reason, one of the hunters had silver bullets, our kids were trying to hide, and I guess the hunter thought one of them was a stag or something. So they shot him a few times. Unless the myth is true that your b***d can heal massive wounds. Two of our parents are gonna lose a child today.”
I mind-linked back: Samuel. Tell me where you are?” Sami wasted no time “North Wing of The Hospital, Room 2. Be here quick.” I said back “Just mind link Will everything, we’re coming.”
I asked Will “How far is room 2, in the North wing from here?” Will gave me a concerned look “Twenty-minute walk.” I said, “In-car?” Will said, “Um….like 4 minutes?” I said, “Get me there in 4 minutes.” Will and I ran out to his driveway. Will drove incredibly fast and my mind was in hyperdrive. If a kid died today, knowing my b***d could have saved him, and I didn’t make it there on time, I’d never been able to forgive myself.
But thankfully we were at the hospital in no time. I told Will to run to the room, so I could follow him. We got to room 2, the sixteen-year-old parents were both standing helplessly crying outside the room. I walked into the room and saw they had an IV attached to the boy’s hand. I told Dr. Edwards “Please, take my b***d and put it in his IV quickly.”
Dr. Edwards quickly tied the elastic thing on my bicep and got two vials out and took my b***d. He then proceeded to attach it to the boy’s IV. The boy’s natural color started coming back immediately and I told Dr. Edwards to take three more vials, just in case of emergencies. He asked “Luna. Are you sure?” I nodded “Yes.” Just as Will walked in after speaking to the parents, Dr. E. tied the blue stretchy thing to my left arm this time and took three vials of b***d. I felt light-headed.
Gem spoke to me and said “Good job. This is what you were meant for.” I smiled at Gem’s comment. The boy, Olly, woke up at this moment and looked up at me and said “Oh god, you’re our Luna, Thank you, Luna, I’m indebted to you for life. Whatever you need. Please ask me for it.” I ruffled the kid’s hair and said “Just don’t make your parents worry again.”
As I walked out, Olly’s parents hugged me so passionately I felt like I could fall over. Will walked behind me and he put his hands out just in case I’d tip over. Olly’s mom had tears going down her face as she said “Luna. Thank you so much. We owe our lives to you. We always knew Alpha Will would find an amazing Mate, but you’ve surpassed all expectations.”
I smiled and said “This gift is given to me by The Moon Goddess, so you should thank her, not me. I didn’t do anything. This is all her.” Olly’s dad grabbed his mate and said thank you to me once more before heading inside the room.
They walked in and hugged their son. I stood there, watching for a minute until I felt Will come up behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and put his head on my shoulder. He whispered, “You surpassed my expectations too.” I turned around and kissed Will lightly.
We went back home after that. We spent the day inside, cuddling and talking, both of us entertaining each other with stories and memories from when we were younger.
For the two weeks, whenever William wasn’t working hard to find solutions on new issues that surfaced in the other locations internationally of the Black Moon Pack; he’d spend all his time with me.
When he wasn’t around, I’d take a walk with Sophie. or I’d go to the Library to read History books on werewolves. I asked Loren a lot of questions about being a Luna, she answered them. We all had movie nights too. Those were fun. Those were the best. Sophie’s commentary on any film we watched made the event of viewing a film ten times better, she just always had something funny to say about whatever the character was doing.
Watching Horrors was always the top pick. Except for this one time when Nina said she’s making all of us watch a feel-good movie because she thought we were messing up our minds watching Horrors all the time. So she made us watch Love. I adored that film, so I didn’t mind. But Michael and Samuel both complained about the entire film. Will was too busy with his hands on me to pay attention to the film. He just constantly needed to be touching me in some way. Even if it was just making circles with his thumb on the palm of my hand.
Other days, I’d listen to Nina tell me stories she cherished of her kids. She’d ask me a lot about my life growing up too. My mom and she even talked on the phone for an hour one day too. They connected immediately like they were old pals. With Christopher’s convincing Will let me go to the cafe with Ryker once. I told him how Will felt. He said he completely understood and that maybe one day we could all hang out, and until then, he wished me the best.
Will was angry about that but he tolerated it for my sake.
After those two weeks had passed, the next two days we spent lounging around, talking about the Ceremony that was set to happen very soon. I told William I didn’t want to wear an over-the-top dress for the ceremony. He took me out to choose a dress since he already had his tux.
He said his tux was all black, down to the tie. So I knew no matter what I’d wear it would go with black but I kind of wanted us to both be in matching. I also decided I wanted to wear one of those dresses that has split up the side to show my long legs off.
William was conflicted about that because he hated guys looking at me, but he agreed on it at the end, saying “It suits you too much to not get it.” After trying on dresses at seven different dress stores, I finally found the dress I liked. William complained about the slit being too provocative the whole ride home but I didn’t care because he let me get it anyways. Nico and Sophie laughed the whole car ride home.
We made love slowly, the night before our ceremony, gazing into each other’s eyes, both of us were too excited for the moment in the evening tomorrow that we’d get to put our forever bands on each other’s wedding fingers.
A couple of hours before we went to bed, William and I couldn’t stop laughing about wedding disaster theories that both of us kept making up. When we both finally became sleepy, he kissed my forehead and said “Tomorrow’s gonna be great.” before closing his eyes.
