The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen -
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 90
Jemma’s POV
Cassius had gotten up to go speak with the warrior he had thrown across the training field. I leaned my head against the wall, and my eyes instantly closed. I just sat there in the quiet of the waiting room. My babies were moving around inside of me, and I was enjoying the moment. I started nodding off when the noxious stench of too much perfume assaulted my olfactory sense. I opened my eyes and noticed Heidi sitting at the nurse’s desk. She was filing her nails and looking at me every once in a while.
I tried to ignore her glances and shut my eyes again. It was quiet except for her nail filing. “She looks so fake with her eyes closed.” I heard Heidi say in a hushed tone. I wasn’t sure who she was talking to. Nor did I care. Did she forget werewolves, especially high-ranking ones, have super hearing?
“I don’t see what the king sees in her,” Heidi whispered with a high-pitched giggle. I still had my eyes closed but assumed she was talking on the phone. Another scent entered my senses, so I opened my eyes, and Heidi was standing behind the desk while one of her friends from earlier was standing in front of her talking.
She both glanced my way and giggled. I just rolled my eyes and stared straight ahead of me. “I mean, what kind of king would want a w***e for a queen?” I heard one of them say.
I started laughing, which made them both stare at me. They were calling me a w***e. Granted, I hadn’t exactly been chaise when I met Cassius, but still, they were ones to talk. I was still laughing when I noticed Heidi and her skinny friend standing in front of me. “Can I help you, ladies?”
“Were you listening to our private conversation?”
I snorted. “No, of course not. I mean, it’s not like we are werewolves with super hearing or anything.” I said sarcastically.
“Don’t think because you saved me earlier that I’m not still gunning for Cassius.” Heidi snarled.
“Um, okay.” I snorted. “Keep up your delusions. Oh, and that’s King Cassius to you.”
“It will be just Cassius when I scream his name while he pounds into me.” Heidi snickered.
I rolled my eyes. “He’s not really into heavily made-up fake skanks. But you can keep trying.”
Her friend giggled at my remark, but Heidi growled lowly.
‘This b***h is getting on my nerves,’ Leonora snarled in my head.
‘Try not to give her too much attention,’ I mumbled to my wolf while Heidi said something, but I didn’t catch it. I tried to ignore her.
“This b***h won’t be so smug when I kill her and her bastard pups and take my place as queen,” My b***d boiled at Heidi’s word, and I didn’t even try stopping Leonora as I growled and launched out of my seat and slammed Heidi against the wall with my hands around her throat. She whined and squirmed as I glared at her through Leonora’s eyes.
“What did you say?” My wolf snarled out at her.
“Jemma!” I heard Cassius call to me from down the hall. But I was not the one in control. Leonora was in charge at the moment, and I wasn’t fighting her. She was tired of people threatening her pups.
Heidi was struggling to free herself from Leonora’s grip on her throat. I sort of let my wolf do her thing. “Let go of me, you psycho.”
I was vaguely aware of Cassius now standing beside us. “Jemma?” He said again while touching my shoulder.
Leonora turend ot look at him.
“Leonora?” He said to my wolf as his eyes flickered. “What are you doing?”
“This b***h threatened my pups.”
Cassius raised an eyebrow and glared at Heidi, who was turning red from the lack of oxygen. “Don’t kill her.” He told my wolf.
“I am not going to kill her. I just need to put her in her place.” Leonora snarled.
“I said let me go-” Heidi started to say but was cut off by a loud growl from Leonora.
“You threatened my pups. You are lucky you are still breathing, you wretched b***h. I am sick of anyone threatening them. Now you will face the consequences since you live in a land of delusions.” Leonora hissed.
“What did you say to my queen?” Cassius demanded in his king alpha tone.
Heidi struggled in Leonora’s hold as a bit of a crowd had gathered. Angela and Dr. Hansen were standing a few feet away with a couple of nurses. Luckily, Nicky was still in the office with Dr. Jennings. “I-I said ‘She won’t be so smug when I kill the pups and her and take my place as queen.” She whimpered out, unable to resist the alpha tone in Cassius’s voice.
He growled out loud enough to shake the walls and stepped forward, but Leonora stopped him. “This is my fight.” She said to him as his eyes flickered. I could sense Enoch trying to come forward.
“Then, by all means, take care of it.” He snarled in Enoch’s voice.
Leonora smirked at her mate before turning her attention to Heidi. “You will submit,” Leonora ordered in my queen tone.
Heidi struggled with the order with a lot of writhing and whimpering, but eventually, she stopped struggling and showed her neck. Her eyes were shooting daggers, but she was quiet.
“Good, now listen close. You are hereby banished from working in this hospital or anywhere near the palace. You will not come within a hundred yards of me, Cassius, or any of our pups.” Leonora ordered in her queen tone. “Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, your majesty,” Heidi mumbled.
Leonora released Heidi, who fell to the ground in a heap. I was then given back control and shook my head. I looked over at Dr. Hansen. “Remove her from the hospital now. Like my wolf said. She is no longer allowed to work here or anywhere close to the palace. If I see her anywhere close to Cassius or me, she will be taken into custody and possibly executed.” I said as I looked down at the pathetic she-wolf.
“Yes, your majesty,” Dr. Hansen bowed as he walked over and helped his slutty niece to her feet. “Come along, Heidi. Your mother is going to be so disappointed in you.” He dragged her away while she cursed and whimpered.
I turned to Cassius, who was just listening to everything that had transpired. “Was I too harsh?”
He shrugged. “Not at all.”
Someone cleared their throat behind us. It was Dr. Jennings standing there clasping Nicky’s hand. “I am done with my evaluation.” She declared.
“Oh, sorry. How much of that did you see?”
“We just walked out. So I only saw Dr. Hansen dragging that uh nurse away.” Dr. Jennings explained. “If you please, would you two return to the office with me.” She released Nicky’s hand.
“Mommy,” Nicky squealed and ran over to me.
I scooped him up into my arms, and then Cassius and I followed Dr. Jennings back to the office. Cassius reached over and ruffled his hair.
“Did you have a good talk, Nick?” He asked our son.
“Yes, daddy. She is a nice lady.” Nicky responded as we walked back into the office and sat down. Nicky sat on my lap.
Dr. Jennings picks up her notepad. “So, Nicky most definitely has PTSD.” She started. “Now, I can meet with him twice a week for hour-long sessions. It is a long commute for me from my office. So it may cost a bit more-“
“Money is no object,” Cassius interrupted her. “Whatever it takes to help my son, we’ll pay it.”
Dr. Jennings nodded. “Okay. I also have a potion that I use for young pups with mental health issues that won’t affect their development or hold back their wolf. Nick has met his wolf, has he not?”
I nodded. “He has.”
“Okay. I have the potion in my car. I would need payment upfront. The ingredients aren’t cheap.” Dr. Jennings told us.
“As my mate said, money doesn’t matter.”
“I would also like to meet with both of you every other week. It’s clear to me you all need therapy. You can either come in together or separate.”
Cassius folded his arms. “I don’t need therapy.”
“It will help your son, your majesty.”
He snorted and looked at me. “It can’t hurt, Cass.” I patted his arm. “Okay, let’s set up the appointments.”
We all stood up, and Cassius took Nicky into his arms. My son leaned his little head against Cassius’s chest. “Want to come to help me in the office, Nick? So Mommy can get some rest.”
Nicky nodded his head as he looked up at Cassius. We walked out of the office and stopped at the desk. Dr. Hansen was standing behind the nurses, and they all bowed as we walked towards them,
“Your majesties, I would like to apologize again for my niece. I didn’t realize what kind of problem she was. I assure you that she won’t be bothering you again. I sent her back to my sister, who lives in one of the farthest packs.”
“That is good to hear, Dr. Hansen,” Cassius replied to him.
Dr. Jennings set her briefcase on the desk and pulled out a planner. “Okay, I have Tuesday and Thursday afternoons free. What time works for you two?”
“Around one pm works for me,” I told her and glanced at Cassius. “That’s for Nicky, right?”
The doctor nodded, “Yes, and then I can meet with you two also after that.”
“Okay.” I looked at Cassius. “Does that work for you, Cass?”
“That works for me.” He replied.
Dr. Jennings wrote it down. “Okay. Any questions?”
We shook our heads. “No.”
“Okay, so I’ll go get the potion from my car, and then I’ll explain how to prepare it and administer it.” She closed her book and put it back into the briefcase. “Wait here.” She then rushed out of the hospital.
Angela walked over to the desk. “So, Jemma, good job putting that b***h in her place.”
Cassius cleared his throat and looked down at Nicky, who was in his arms.
“What?” Angela shrugged.
I laughed. “It was nothing, Ange.” It was a good thing that Dr. Hansen had walked away from the desk. “Should I have done more?”
“I think you did the right thing, or should I say your wolf did the right thing.”
Leonora laughed in my head. ‘I thought about killing her.’
I snorted out loud. “My wolf is vicious.”
“Enoch loves his vicious mate,” Cassius said in my ear.
I couldn’t help but smile as Dr. Jennings walked back towards us. She handed me a velvet bag. “Okay, this can be brewed like a tea. I wrote down the directions on how. It can also be added to food in case he won’t drink the tea.” She explained to me. “Give it to him at dinner time, and it will help with the bad dreams.”
“Thank you, Dr. Jennings.”
“Any problems or questions,” She pulled out a business card. “Call me.”
I nodded as I took the card and bag. “Again, thank you.” I shook her hand, and then Cassius did. “See you next week.”
“I have to go get the money from my office,” Cassius told her.
“I know I said I needed it upfront, but you can wait till his appointment next week to pay me.”
Cassius nodded. “Well, thanks for everything Doc.” Cassius clasped my hand, and we walked out of the hospital. “Are you still sleepy?”
I nodded. “I just want to lie down for a bit before dinner.”
“Okay, love. I’ll take Nick to the office. Then we can just chill tonight in our room for dinner.”
“Sounds like a date. Huh, Nicky?” I tickled my son’s back.
He giggled and snuggled into Cassius’s chest.
We entered the palace, and Cassius walked with me to the elevators. He set Nicky down and pulled me into his arms. He kissed me.
“Ewww.” Nicky giggled, causing us to laugh.
“I hope you get some rest, love,” Cassius said to me as the elevator door opened. “See you later. Don’t worry about Nick. Everything will work out.”
I waved at them as I walked into the elevator. “Bye, Nicky. Be good for Daddy.”
They both waved as the door closed. I sighed and leaned against the wall of the elevator. When the doors opened again, I made my way to my room. I was already stripping out of my clothes as I walked towards the bed. I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes, and let myself fall into a dreamless nap.
