The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 36
“Oh,” Jemma looked away from me.
I narrowed my eyes at her. “Jemma, tell me what you know. You know where she is, don’t you?”
She shook her head. “I promised her I wouldn’t tell.”
“Jemma,” I growled. “Tell me where my sister is.” I used my King tone even though I knew it had no effect on her. “Please. She could be in danger.”
Jemma took a deep voice. “I’m pretty sure she is with the vampire.”
“Come again?”
Her eyes closed as she laid her head against a pillow. Her arms folded under her breasts. “Ainsley is dating a vampire,” Jemma blurted out.
There was another frantic knock at the door. I assumed it was my parents. “Hold on,” I shouted at them. I quickly pulled the sweatpants on. “Put some clothes on,” I said to Jemma as I opened the door.
My mother and father stood there once again. My mother sniffed. “Sorry to interrupt, but we need to find your sister.”
I looked at Jemma, who had put her nightgown back on and was standing behind me. “Jemma, tell my parents what you just told me.”
Her shoulders slumped. “I promised-“
“Tell me where my daughter is,” my mother demanded.
Jemma closed her eyes. “Ainsley is dating a vampire. He is a server at Frederico’s, the restaurant we were at today.”
“Wait, Titus?” My mother questioned my mate. “She’s dating Titus?”
Jemma nodded. “Yes, but I only found out today. I don’t know anything else about it, I swear.” She explained. “But I don’t think Titus will hurt her.”
“MY DAUGHTER IS DATING A f*****g VAMPIRE!” My father roared so loud the walls shook.
I placed my hands on his shoulders as I watched his eyes flicker between black and blue. “Calm down, Dad.”
“HOW THE f**k CAN I BE CALM?!” He growled. “My baby girl is out there with some filthy bloodsucker!”
“Terrance, you need to calm down,” my mother pleaded with him. “We need to find her, Cassy,” She said to me with tears in her eyes.
I nodded. ‘Warriors, my sister is missing. Find her!’ I ordered through the mind link. ‘Ward, meet me downstairs at the front door now!’ I called as I walked out of the bedroom with my parents and Jemma right behind me. Once downstairs, we went out the front door, where my head warrior Ward was waiting with several others. “Princess Ainsley is missing,” I stated to them. “We suspect she may be with a vampire called Titus.”
Ward snarled. “Want us to kill it?”
“No!” Jemma shouted suddenly.
We all turned other as she shrank back and hid her face in my back. “I mean, don’t kill the vampire, please.”
“Let’s just focus on finding, Ainsley first,” I replied to Ward.
“Where do we start, your majesty?” Ward asked.
“He works at Frederico’s. I don’t know if they are still open or not,” Jemma stated. “We should perhaps call the owner and ask him for the vampire’s address.”
“Fine. Go to Frederico’s first.”
Ward nodded. “Yes, your majesty.” He turned and barked orders to the warriors, and they took off.
“Maybe we should be out there looking, son,” My father suggested.
“Let’s go then,” I said to him. As we were getting ready to shift, I saw the warriors walking back towards us with my sister in tow. Her tan trench coat was gone, and her red dress was disheveled along with her hair.
“Ainsley!” My mother shouted as she ran to her and hugged her. The rest of us followed.
“King Cassius, we found the princess just outside the palace grounds,” Ward stated.
“Thank you,” I mumbled to him. “You can all return to whatever you were doing,” I said to the warriors. They all bowed and then dispersed.
“Where in the hell have you been, young lady?” My mother nearly screamed at my sister.
“I-I was visiting my mate,” She attempted to lie to my mother.
My mother slapped her face. “Do not lie to me, Ainsley Marie.”
“You reek of bloodsucker.” My father growled.
She looked at Jemma. “You told them?”
“No, I-I mean yes.” Jemma stammered. “But you were missing. Everyone was concerned about you.”
“Jemma!” Ainsley shouted. “You promised.”
“Don’t get mad at Jemma, young lady,” my father practically spit at her. “You have a lot of explaining to do. How long have you been seeing this vampire?” He hissed as he said, vampire. I had never heard my father sound so angry.
Ainsley looked at the ground and said nothing. My mother wrapped her arm around her shoulder. “Let’s go inside and talk. The kingdom does not need to hear our dirty laundry.”
“I agree, mother,” I said as I started walking back into the palace. I had to pull my father along as he trembled with anger. We all silently made it to my office and filed in. I closed and locked the door. The ladies sat on one couch while my father and I sat on the opposite one. There was a moment of silence as my father glared daggers at my sister.
My sister huddled between my mother and Jemma. “Tell us how long this fling has been going on.”
“It’s not a fling, Dad,” Ainsley spat out. “Titus and I have been seeing each other for almost a year.”
My father stood up from the couch and glared at my sister. “Have you had s*x with it?” He growled. Ainsley shrank back on the sofa and looked at the ground. “Answer me, Ainsley!” My father yelled. “Now!”
My sister slowly nodded as tears fell out of her eyes. “Yes.”
My father growled loudly and lunged towards Ainsley. I stood up and had to hold him back. “Terrance!” My mother barked.
“YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE VAMPIRE ENDS NOW!” My father roared.
Ainsley stood up and glared at my father. “DADDY, I LOVE HIM!” She shouted at my father. I had to hold my father back as he tried to lunge for my sister again.
“And what about your mate?” My mother asked her.
My sister sighed. “I rejected him. I don’t want him, Mother. I want Titus.”
“NO DAUGHTER OF MINE IS GOING TO GIVE UP HER MATE TO BE WITH A f*****g VAMPIRE!” My father roared again. It was taking most of my strength to hold back my angry father. He may be an older man, but he still was very strong. “Cassius, I want you to kill the vampire.”
“Daddy! NO!” Ainsley cried out and looked at me with pleading eyes.
My father ripped himself out of my arms and placed his fists on his forehead. He paced back and forth. “I cannot believe this. My daughter is in love with a vampire. Where did we go wrong with her, Isabelle?” He asked my mother.
“Dad, look. You know I cannot kill the vampire, especially if he is here peacefully. We don’t want to violate the treaty you made with King Romulus,” I explained to him.
“I’m sure Rom will understand when I tell him why the bastard was killed,” My father snarled. “Just because we made an alliance with them doesn’t mean I have to accept one of them f*****g my daughter.” He stopped pacing and glared at Ainsley. “Tomorrow, you will apologize to your mate when his parents arrive, and we will work things out with them.”
Tears fell down my sister’s cheeks. “Dad, what part of I don’t want him, don’t you understand. I do not want my mate. I rejected him.”
“Did he accept the rejection?” My mother asked.
Ainsley shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t care.” She folded her arms.
My father pinched the bridge of his nose. “That is not how we taught you, Ainsley. Mates are a gift from the Goddess. You don’t throw it away for a fling with a vampire.”
“I don’t want him, though,” Ainsley tried to reason with our father. “I feel nothing for Casper. I feel everything for Titus. I am following my heart. That’s what Jemma said to do.”
My father turned a glare onto my mate, who was standing behind Ainsley wide eyed. “You encouraged her to reject her mate?”
Jemma frantically shook her head. “No, I did not tell her to reject her mate. I told her to do what she felt was right for herself.”
“I am so done talking about this tonight,” My father said in a strangely calm tone. “We can still fix this.” He mumbled. “What time is Alpha Reynolds expected to arrive here?” He asked me.
“I told him to be here at 9 am sharp.”
My father took a deep breath. “Then 9 am, you will be here in this office to discuss this matter and work it out.”
“I have nothing else to say about this matter,” Ainsley stated.
“Ainsley Marie, you will listen to your father,” My mother growled at her. “Do you understand?” Our mother used her best mother tone.
My sister scoffed and threw up her hands, and walked away. “Fine! Whatever! I’ll mate with some a*****e I don’t love and be miserable the rest of my life. Since I have no say in my own f*****g life.” She cried as she opened the door and walked out.
“Language, young lady!” My mother barked at her while following behind.
I heard my father sigh heavily. “I’m going for a run.” He ran out of the room, leaving just Jemma and me.
“Cass, I’m sorry,” She started to say.
I placed a finger on her soft lips. “You have nothing to apologize for. Alright?”
She nodded. “I was just trying to help Ainsley.”
“I know.” I sighed heavily. The exhaustion of the long day was starting to affect me. “Let’s go to bed.”
“You don’t want to finish what we started earlier?”
I shook my head. “Surprisingly, no. I want to crawl into bed and sleep.”
She grabbed my arm and started pulling me out of my office. “Okay, I will put my king to bed.”
I leaned down and kissed her. “Thank you.”
“I love you, Cassius.”
