The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 23

Jemma’s POV

I silently walked with Isabelle towards the elevators. My clothes were disheveled, and my hair was a mess. I was more or less hobbling because I was really sore. Angry s*x while sprawled on a hard desk probably wasn’t the best idea. I saw my mother-in-law smirking as we walked.

“Sore, are we?”

I rolled my eyes. “No, why would I be sore, Izzy?”

She snickered as we reached the elevator. “I’ll be in the sitting room. Meet me in there when you are finished.”

The door of the elevator opened, and I nodded as I hopped on. “See ya then.” The doors closed, and I leaned against the wall. My legs felt like jelly as the elevator rose to my floor. The doors opened, and I hobbled to my room. Once in, I stripped off my clothes and ran into the bathroom. I looked down and saw bruises all over my chest, stomach, and arms. “Damn, Cass,” I mumbled as I hopped into the shower. The hot water felt good on my sore body. ‘You got me good, Cass.’ I mind linked my mate.

‘You know you liked it.’ He replied with a laugh.

‘I didn’t say I didn’t like it, numbnuts.’ He just laughed again. ‘A*****e.’

‘Yes, but I am your a*****e.’ He retorted.

I flashed an image of me washing. I caressed my breasts and licked my n****e. I heard a growl in my head. I knew I got to both Cassius and Enoch.

‘Quit that or I’ll come up there and make it so you can’t walk at all.’ He growled.

‘Then your mother would be pissed I missed the dress fitting.’ I replied as I finished the showers and stepped back. I stood naked in front of the mirror and flashed images of my naked body to Cassius. I heard another growl in my mind.

‘I am trying to work, Jemma.’ He tried but failed to sound stern.

‘Trying.’ I replied as I walked away from the mirror, giggling. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a black tank top in the closet and then put on some sneakers, pulled my hair into a ponytail, and walked out of the room.

I found Isabelle sipping tea in the sitting room. She smiled as I walked in. “Ready?”

“Not really,” I mumbled.

She set her teacup down and rose from the couch. She swayed over to me and linked her arm in mine, and we walked out of the sitting room. Down the hall, we walked in silence. Workers bowed to us as we passed. She pulled me into the throne room. Marble floors and columns covered the room. Large blue tapestries with the royal coat of arms plastered the walls. The room was big enough for hundreds of people. In the center sat the thrones rising above the rest of the room. The King’s throne was almost solid gold and had carvings of the moon and wolves. Beside it the slightly smaller Queen’s throne. Izzy pulled me over to them and released me. “Try it out.”

I tilted my head at her. “Huh?”

She pointed to the Queen’s throne. “Try it out.”

I just looked at it. It still was hard to see myself sitting on a throne. I approached and ran my hand over the velvet seat, and sat. I looked out over the room, trying to imagine myself and Cassius here sitting side by side ruling the werewolf kingdom. Izzy was smirking at me. “It suits you.” She held out her hand. “Come on.”

I clasped her hand, and she leads me past the thrones and towards a metal door hidden behind one of the tapestries. There were a keypad and eye scanner to get in. “Where are we going?”

She said nothing as she put in a password and scanned her eye. “You’ll get access to this room after your coronation.” She explained as the door hissed and opened. Cold air spilled out as we walked into a vault. Jewels of all kinds sparkled. In the center of the room sat the crowns.

“Those look heavy,” I mumbled.

She laughed. “They are.” She picked up the smaller of the two. The Queen’s crown and hefted it in her hands before placing it on my head. It was gold with sapphires and diamonds. It was quite heavy, and I felt a pain in my neck. “You are a worthy queen, Jemma.” She explained as I looked at myself in the mirror metal of the vault. She lifted the crown off of my head and placed it back on its spot. I walked around the room and looked at all of the jewels. I stopped at a simple sapphire necklace and slid my hand over it. Izzy stood behind me. “I think that one would suit you.” She picked it up and put it around my neck. She smiled as she looked me over.

I looked in the mirrored metal and smiled. “I like it.”

“It belonged to Cassy’s great grandmother.” She explained. “You should wear it for your coronation. It matches the gown.” She took it off of me and set it back down. She then leads me to another door in the back of the vault, and we went through it. It was smaller, and hanging up in glass cases were robes made of fur. Beside the robes was a case containing an old fashioned ball gown, a deep blue color with gold trim. The kind you would expect Cinderella to wear. A door on the other side of the room opened, and two she-wolves walked in. The elder one smiled at Isabelle and clasped her hand. They kissed each other’s cheeks. She had long white hair with blue eyes. “Hello, Ursula. Glad you could make it.” Isabelle gestured to me.

Ursula brightened up. “This must be Jemma.” She walked a circle around me. She held out a hand to me. I shook it. “I am Ursula.”

“Ursula is the royal dressmaker,” Isabelle explained. “And one of my dearest friends.” She smiled at the other she-wolf.

“It’s nice to meet you, Ursula.”

The older woman pointed to the younger woman beside her. “This is my granddaughter Felisha. She is also my assistant.”

The younger woman bowed her head. “Your majesty.” She smiled at me. She looked like her grandmother but had brown hair and hazel eyes.

Ursula clapped her hands, and more women walked into the room dragging a couple of trunks. Ursula opened one up and started pulling items out as a table was set up beside her. “Now, let’s get the gown on you.”

Isabelle opened the glass case containing the gown. The omegas and Felisha carefully removed it. “Get undressed and stand on that stool.” She pointed to a stool that had just appeared.

Sighing, I took off my jeans and tank top. Down to my panties and bra. The bruises on my chest and stomach were still visible. I heard gasps. “Good heavens, child. What happened?” Ursula asked with wide eyes.

I pursed my lips. “Uh-“

“Rough office s*x,” Isabelle replied for me.

“Izzy!” I cried. I felt my face flush.

She rolled her eyes. “Oh, don’t act so embarrassed now. The whole palace heard you screaming my son’s name earlier.”

That caused Felisha and the omegas to giggle. I bit my l*p. “People kept walking into the office, and that just made Cass angrier. And that desk is hard.”

“That door has a lock,” Isabelle mumbled.

Ursula laughed. “Nothing like some good old angry office s*x.” She walked over to her trunk and pulled out a garment.

“Is that what I think it is?” I asked her.

“A corset. Yes.” She held it up to me. “You’ll need to wear it with the gown.”

I shook my head. “Why?”

“I’m afraid it won’t fit correctly without it. Don’t worry. I won’t tighten it too much.” She unzipped it and then slid it over my head. I sighed as she stepped behind me to tighten it. “Deep breath.”

I took a deep breath as I felt the wicked garment tightening around my body. I was not too fond of it one bit as breathing became more challenging for me. Movement was also tricky.

“Being Queen is not easy.” Isabelle stood off to the side, watching.

“But why do we have to wear such uncomfortable clothes?” I whined.

She shrugged as Ursula and Felisha helped me into the gown. It was cumbersome. The fit was tight, and it was hard to move. Ursula walked around me, tugging and pulling while murmuring to herself while she took measurements. She turned to Isabelle. “It’s almost a perfect fit. There are still some adjustments I’ll have to make.”

“Perfect fit?” I blurted out. “I can barely move.”

Isabelle and Ursula turned to each other and laughed. “That means it fits correctly.”

Felisha unzipped it, helped me out of the gown, and then helped me out of the corset. I breathed out, relieved to have the cursed items off my body. “How long will I have to wear those?”

“The whole night, dear,” Isabelle replied.

My jaw fell open. “But-but-“

“I told you being queen is not easy.”

Taking a deep breath, I picked up my jeans and tank top and put them back on. Isabelle said something to Ursula before she grabbed my hand and started to lead me out of the small room. We walked together through the halls and into one of the conference rooms. Two more women were sitting at the end of the long table with all kinds of papers and samples of things spread out. They smiled and bowed as we walked in.

One of them stepped forward and extended her hand to me. A tall brown-haired woman is wearing a grey suit. “Hello, you must Queen Jemma.” I shook her hand. “I am Yolanda, and this is my assistant Rachel. We are here to help plan the coronation.” She faced Isabelle. “I can’t tell you what an honor this is.”

“You came highly recommended.” Isabelle shook her hand, and we all took our seats. “You may begin.”

Yolanda began talking about arrangements and flowers and crap I didn’t care about. I know it was my coronation. But I just didn’t care about things like flowers and lace and crap like that. I would just nod as she spoke, not registering what was being said. I spaced out and felt my arm being shook.

“Jemma.” Isabelle barked. “Are you paying attention?”

I shook my head. “Sorry.”

Yolanda pursed her lips. “I was asking about what flowers you liked best.”

“I don’t have a favorite,” I mumbled. I felt Isabelle glaring at me. I just pointed at a random picture, not looking. “That one.” Yolanda and Isabelle exchanged a look.

An irritated sigh escaped my mate’s mother as Yolanda pulled out various swatches of items. I did my best to keep up. This all reminded me of Luna classes. Flower arranging and fabrics and food and music. “What are some of your favorite songs?” Yolanda asked me. “Or your favorite artists?”

I laughed. “You want an answer to that?”

“Yes,” Yolanda looked at Isabelle.

“I listen to death metal mostly. With other metal genres mixed in. Slayer is my favorite band.”

Yolanda pursed her lips. “I don’t think that will be appropriate at a coronation or the ball after. How about Taylor Swift?”

I cringed and made a face of disgust. “Ugh, no. Please, for the love of the Goddess no.” I sighed. “I am okay with old classic rock. Like Elvis or even old country like Johnny Cash.”

“You don’t like any current artists?” Yolanda asked.

“Just metal.”

She sighed. “Okay. Elvis, is it.” She handed us menus. “Let’s discuss the catering.”

This part I could like. Who doesn’t enjoy food? I looked at the selections. “Our prime rib sounds excellent,” I said with more enthusiasm. I pointed to a few other selections.

A half-hour went by of planning and discussion. I was beginning to miss Cassius. After Isabelle and I said goodbye to Yolanda, we left the conference room and walked down the hall in silence.

“I am going to go have tea in my room,” Isabelle said to me. “You are free to do what you want.” She smiled weakly at me before departing.

I sensed she was upset. I know I wasn’t very helpful di=uring the planning. It just isn’t something I enjoy. If it were my choice, the coronation would be simple with a bonfire afterward. ‘Why don’t I feel like royalty?’ I mumbled to Leonora.

‘It’s a lot to take in.’ My wolf replied.

I started to wander the palace, soon finding myself back in the throne room. I sat on the Queen’s throne. My eyes closed as I leaned back on the hard velvety cushion.

“The throne suits you, my Queen.” I opened my eyes to see Cassius standing in the doorway. He was dressed in his white dress shirt and black pants. The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up, and the top buttons were undone. He was like a dream. My personal Adonis stepped towards me. His blue eyes trained on me as he knelt in front of me.

I traced my hand down his cheek and leaned forward to k**s him. “I’m nervous, Cass,” I whispered to him.

He chuckled. “Jemma, I have been trained to be king since I was five, and I am still nervous.” He stood up and held out his hand. I clasped it, and he pulled me to my feet, then lead me away from the thrones. In the center of the room, he wrapped his arms around me and kissed me.

I wrapped my arms around his neck as the k**s deepened. He pulled back from the k**s. “Dance with me, Jemma.”

“There is no music.”

He smiled. “There is if we believe there is.” I clasped my hand and twirled me around the floor. Our eyes locked on one another. “You were born to be Queen, my love. Being royal is not easy. But the Moon Goddess chose you to be my mate before either one of us was born. You are strong and smart. You are kind to others. You are not concerned with material things. You would rather fight for what you believe in rather than lets others tell you what to believe.” He rumbled as we moved about the floor. “The Moon Goddess saw your worth and knew you were the right match for me.” We stopped, and he placed his hands on either side of my face. His deep blue eyes are looking deep into mine. “I could not be happier she chose you. The moment I saw you I was in love with you. And I don’t just mean at the mating ball. When we were pups, I knew I loved you.”

“What?”

“Don’t you remember playing together as pups? When my parents would visit with yours.”

I searched my memories for images of playing with Cassius. “One time, you chased me, trying to get me to k**s you until Iain punched you.”

He laughed. “Yeah, I just felt compelled to put my lips on yours.”

“I was seven, you sicko.”

He leaned down and kissed me. Leaning his forehead on mine, he clasped my hand and led me back to the thrones. He sat in his while I sat beside him while keeping his hand on mine. “You will be a fine queen, Jemma. I’ll always be here to help you. My mother too.”

I frowned. “I think I disappointed her today.”

“How so?” He asked.

“I wasn’t very helpful while planning the coronation. I mean, things like flower arrangements don’t interest me. Personally, I find it to be a waste of flowers.” I explained. “It was like when my mother made me take Luna classes. My eyes just glazed over, and I spaced the whole time. No matter what anyone says or does, I am just not feminine enough to enjoy those sort of things.”

He shrugged. “You realize that planning those things is a way to show the kingdom who you are? If you want it toned down. Then tone it down. Granted, your coronation should be a grand affair. But if you don’t want tons of flowers, then say it.”

I smiled as he spoke. “You are indeed a wise king.”

“I try.” He chuckled. “If it were my choice, the coronation would be a bonfire by the lake.”

“That’s what I said.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Great minds think alike.” He rose from his throne and pulled me with him. “How about we have dinner in our room tonight? Then watch TV and just cuddle.”

“Oh, Cassius, you read my mind.”

He smirked. “Did I? We can also talk and get to know each other as you want. Though we already know each other on a spiritual level.” We kissed again. “What would you like for dinner? I can have them make whatever you want.”

“Some kind of pasta meal. Nothing real heavy, though. Maybe with chicken or shrimp and some salad.”

“I like how you think, love.” He grabbed my hand and led me out of the throne room and to the kitchen. It was located past the dining room. A crew of omegas was being led by a chef preparing tonight’s dinner. They all stopped and bowed.

The chef, a portly human among werewolves, stepped forward. He had balding black hair. There were tattoos all over his arms. “What can I do for your majesties?” He asked.

“Jemma, meet Chef Louis Romano.” I shook the chef’s hand.

“Pleased to meet you. You are human.” I blurted out.

The chef nodded. “That I am. My mate is a wolf. She works in the hospital. I am fortunate that King Cassius allowed me to become the head chef here.” He explained.

“Chef, the Queen, and I would like to have dinner brought to our room tonight,” Cassius explained to him.

The chef bowed. “And what would you like me to make?”

“The Queen would like some kind of pasta meal.” Cassius laughed. “Her words, not mine.”

Chef Romano laughed as well and looked at me. “I can make you anything you like, Queen Jemma.”

“I want something creamy with shrimp or chicken. But light. If that makes any sense. Oh, and salad.”

The chef scratched his chin. “How about spaghetti carbonara? I can make it on the lighter side with bacon and mushroom. I’ll add grilled chicken and a nice spinach and dark greens salad.”

I nodded. “That sounds f*****g awesome.” I covered my mouth when Cassius shot me a look. “Sorry.”

The chef laughed. “That is alright, your majesty. I’ll make your meals and have them brought to your room in forty-five minutes.”

“That sounds good, Chef. Also, throw in some chocolate cake and wine.” Chef Romano bowed. “Thank you.” Cassius smiled and waved to the kitchen omegas before he and I walked out of the kitchen. We walked arm in arm to the elevators.

Once in our room, I sat in a heap on the couch and grabbed the TV remote. “What do you want to watch?” I asked Cassius as he wandered into the closet. I kicked off my shoes and propped my feet up. Happy to just chill.

“I don’t care.” He called from inside the closet. A moment later, he walked out wearing only a pair of black sweatpants. He sat beside me and pulled me to his chest.

“How about Cutthroat Kitchen?” I suggested.

“Is that a cooking show?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I watch it a lot with my mom and sister.” I selected the first episode and clicked it. “But it’s not like other cooking shows. It’s like Chopped, only they all have to do these sabotages while cooking. You’ll like it.”

“I’m not really into cooking shows, but I’m too tired to argue.”

I smacked his arm. “Shut up. You’ll like it.”

“My rebellious Queen likes cooking shows. I find that hilarious.”

Shrugging, I laughed. “Hey, some of those chefs are totally metal,” I said as the show began. We were on the second episode when there was a knock on the door. I stood up from the couch and answered the door. An omega had a cart with our food. “Thank you,” I said to him as I wheeled the cart in. The food smelled good. I carried our plates over to the coffee table and set them down. I poured us each a glass of wine and sat on the floor in front of my food.

Cassius leaned forward beside me with his eyes glued to the TV. “You are right. This show is great.”

“See, I told you. Next, I’ll get you addicted to Chopped.” I took a bite of the food. “Oh s**t. This is awesome.”

“We have to work on that potty mouth of yours.” He mumbled with a mouth full of food.

I rolled my eyes. “Says the a*s with a mouthful of food.”

He laughed and opened his mouth full of food to show me. I smacked his arm. He pushed my shoulder with his. We laughed as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder and grabbed one of my breasts.

“Hey, no touching, a*****e.”

He squeezed my breast and leaned into me. “You are my mate, and I’ll grab whatever I want.”

I pushed his handoff. “Being my mate does not entitle you to just touch me whenever.”

He kissed my cheek. “Oh, I think it does.” He kissed down my neck and licked my mark-making me shudder. “Your body would agree with me.”

“Not fair when you touch my mark.” I squeaked out as he sucked. My eyes rolled into the back of my head. “F**k.”

He laughed as he kissed up my neck and to my lips. “Gets you every time, my Queen.” He pulled me onto the couch. I straddled his legs and wrapped my arms around his neck while we kissed deeply. His hands grabbed my a*s and squeezed. I felt him getting hard already as our k**s became more passionate, and Cassius pulled my shirt off. “I think we should get back to working on that heir.”

I looked him in the eyes. “I want to finish dinner first.” I pulled away from him and stood up. He pushed out his bottom l*p and gave me puppy dog eyes. I sat back in front of my plate of food and continued to eat. We ate in silence for a few minutes while watching the TV.

“Your brother will be at the palace tomorrow.” Cassius broke the silence.

My eyes brightened. “Really? Oh right. I forgot he has Alpha training. Will I be able to see him?”

Cassius nodded. ” Of course.”

“What is on the royal agenda for tomorrow?” I asked him while sipping wine.

“More boring office stuff. Then two alphas are challenging each other to the death, so we’ll have to watch that.”

“Who challenged who?” I asked, confused.

“Alpha Alec challenged Alpha Gerald for his pack and territory.”

My eyes widened. “That little a*****e is so dead.”

Cassius nodded. “I agree. He thinks Alpha Gerald is too old for his position. But Alpha Gerald is an accomplished warrior, and Alpha Alec barely passed alpha training.”

“I met Gerald once when he came to our packhouse. I think he and my dad are friends or at least allies.” I shrugged. “I just know my father respects him. He seemed like a nice guy for an alpha. And well, you know my history with ALpha Alec.”

“Yes,” Cassius growled while tightly gripped his wine glass. I place my hand over his and gently took the glass from him before he could break it. “I hope Gerald splits that young prick open.”

I laughed and rolled my eyes. I rose from the floor and sat on his lap. Leaning my head on his shoulder, I traced my fingers in circles on his smooth chest. I felt him calm down from my touch. “Can we do some sparring tomorrow, or I can do some training with my brother?”

“We’ll see if we can find the time. My mother wants you to attend Luna training in the afternoon.”

I let out an exasperated breath. “Why?”

“Because Jemma. You have to learn everything about being Queen. It’s not all warrior training. You have to do the feminine stuff too. I know you hate it. But like I said earlier, learn what you can and then figure out how to twist it to match your style.”

I smiled at his explanation. “I’ll try.”

“That’s all we ask, Jemma.” He tightened his arms around my body and began to k**s my neck again.

“Let’s eat that chocolate cake in bed and then have hot wild animal s*x.” I climbed off his lap and picked up the plate with the cake.

A wicked smile spread onto his face as he stood up. “Oh, my dirty little queen.” He lunged for me, and I giggled and dodged him. I ran over to the bed and sat down, and took a forkful of cake. “Mmm.” He sat beside me, and I fed him a bite. We ate the cake while making out then spent the rest of the night having wild animal s*x.
