The 5-time Rejected Luna Queen -
Chapter 69-3
I let out a deep breath, and cocked my head at Daniel, "You don’t need to come." I muttered before taking my leave and heading into the house.
I headed straight for my father’s story room and without rasping a knock on the door, I opened it and stepped in,
He was seated on an armchair with a book in his hand, but he didn’t raise his gaze at me when I walked in. Instead, he remained concentrated on his book,
"You called," I uttered coldly, but there was no response and I was starting to get impatient. I knew I had to wait or walk out soon,
He cleared his throat just when I was on the verge of losing my patience and raised his gaze at me.
"What is going on with the attacks on smaller packs out there?"
I heaved knowing fully well that he must have gotten this information from somewhere else. He was the Alpha king after all and there was no way I could hide this from him for too long
"I’m handling it..." I uttered, but heard a loud bang on the table before I could continue my statement,
"There have been more than 100 dead wolves!"
He yelled at me, but there was no damn way I would flinch or be scared of him,
"I said I’m fucking handling it!" I yelled and turned to leave but heard his voice again,
"One more pack attack and I’m calling your half- brother back to the pack to..."
"Don’t you dare say it... I have a baby on the way so don’t you dare..." I turned around to stare at him with bloodshot eyes. "Every damn thing I’ve worked for is at risk, Dexter, and when there’s no fucking way to handle it, you’ll need more help."
Breathing hard, I didn’t utter a word anymore but instead turned the doorknob and walked out of the room, slamming the door out on my way. I rested on the banister on the balcony g To I could think properly,
I knew father wasn’t joking when he had mentioned bringing Jason back to the pack, but I also wasn’t going to let Jason set his damn foot into this pack. He was no fucking brother of mine and he would never be,
I wrecked my fingers into my hair, my eyes blazing in frustration. I had to do whatever it took to stop Jason from coming back to this pack. He was better off wherever damn place father had sent him since we were teenagers,
"Daniel, meet me on the balcony now!’ I mindlinked Daniel. I had two fucking days to the next attack and I had to think of the next pack that would be attacked,
"Alpha, you called." Daniel’s words disrupted my thoughts,
"What about the men at the borders of the pack that was attacked?" I question impatiently, "Have they found or noticed anything strange?"
