Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 584 Inquiry
Daisy felt uneasy.
She wasn't aware that Joseph didn't have his phone on him at the moment.
As soon as he entered the police station, the police had confiscated his phone.
Joseph was now seated in the interrogation room and the police had just begun their inquiry.
They asked him about the Romantic Public Club. It was the first time he had heard the name, but it was registered by his grandfather. He had no idea that it even existed.
Joseph didn't know whether Derrick had something to do with this or not.
No matter how much the police asked, Joseph denied having any knowledge of the matter. "I don't know anything about this club. I just found out that it existed. I have no idea what kind of projects it runs." Joseph was telling the truth, but the police refused to believe him.
"We want to find out if your father has the right to operate this club. What kind of projects does he run there? Please answer me."
The police had asked him this repeatedly, but Joseph's answer remained the same.
At first, Joseph fully intended to cooperate with the police, but he was starting to get frustrated with them. They kept repeating the same meaningless question. Joseph suddenly stood up and slammed his hand on the table. "I told you that I know nothing! What else do you want from me? Are you going to force me to tell you what you want to hear?"
The police had many experiences like this, so they weren't fazed by Joseph's sudden outburst. "Please sit down, sir. Don't worry. We have plenty of time to sort this out. We'll ask you again slowly, so you can take your time answering."
"Damn it!" Joseph exclaimed. "Let me go! I don't have time to play with you."
"Insulting the police is a serious offense. Please respect and cooperate with our work." The policeman cast a sidelong glance at Joseph.
Joseph's temper flared when he accused him of insulting the police. He suddenly waved a fist in front of the policeman.
"I'm done talking to you. Can I beat you?"
His fist came upon the policeman so fast that he didn't have time to react. His fist landed on the policeman's head.
"Joseph, how dare you attack the police? It's a crime." the policeman quickly stepped aside.
Joseph kicked his chair away in aggravation. "Did I commit a crime? Did I kill someone? Was I the one who set off the fire? Tell me!"
"We suspect that the arson case in the municipal hospital is related to the Fu family. All signs point to the real boss of the Romantic Private Club, which is Derrick. That's why we brought you here. You not only failed to cooperate, but you even attacked us. I don't think you have any plans of leaving, am I right? You can go to jail if you want. If you prefer, you can continue to make trouble for yourself. Go on!" the policeman shouted at Joseph. His eyes flared in anger after Joseph struck him.
"I'm okay with that. I won't go out for the rest of my life," Joseph said sarcastically. He was disturbed by their questions. Joseph wasn't in the right mind to be reasonable right now. He waved his fist at the policeman again.
The policeman was able to dodge him the first time, but Joseph still managed to hit him several times.
This was a real crime.
By the time Joseph was getting handcuffed, he had already exhausted himself. He released all his anger.
"You suspect Derrick. Why aren't you looking for him instead? Why are you bothering me?" he questioned. Joseph sat down listlessly.
"Derrick is mentally unstable. Do you think we don't want to find him? You're his son. Who else could we question if not you?" The policeman rubbed his head in frustration.
Joseph was a strong man, and his jabs hurt the policeman because he struck his head.
Joseph scoffed and said in a mocking tone, "You're right, I am his son. I won't deny it, and I can't either. I have his blood in my body. However, I'm afraid you forgot one thing. Hardy is Derrick's brother and Charles is Derrick's nephew. Frederic is also Derrick's father if you weren't aware. They might know something that I don't. You should bring them here if you can. They might be able to solve your problem. Do you want me to give you their phone numbers?"
The police were aware of the contributions the Fu family made to their city. It would be a lie if they said they weren't afraid.
However, the law was their priority. They couldn't find a breakthrough with the Romantic Private Club, so they had to take Joseph.
They still had no idea if the Fu family was involved in this matter.
The policeman was dazed at Joseph's words. The truth was, they didn't dare to call Frederic.
After all, Frederic was an influential man in the city. They wouldn't dare offend him.
"I know you don't want to call my grandfather. I'll give you Charles' phone number instead. You can ask him if you have anything."
Joseph suspected that no one from the Fu family knew that he had been brought here. He hadn't done anything illegal and couldn't stay here for no reason.
It was difficult for Derrick to show up, and Frederic was ill. It seemed that the only person Joseph could go to for help was Charles.
"Alright." The police were in a bind. They didn't get any useful information from Joseph. It wouldn't be appropriate for them to hold Joseph any longer. Whether Charles would help with the case or not, they needed an excuse to let Charles take Joseph away.
Joseph gave Charles' phone number to the police, and they proceeded to contact him.
After finding out that the police had interrogated Joseph, Charles furrowed his brows deeply.
"What did you say?" Charles asked in a worried voice. He was afraid that Joseph was involved in this. It would be better if Joseph didn't know anything. If he were involved, this crime would be more complicated.
"Charles, I don't know anything. What else can I say? You..." Joseph glanced at the policeman carefully before lowering his voice. "You don't know anything about this, do you?"
"I only know about the Romantic Private Club. What else would I know about it?" Charles was telling him the truth. He only found out about the club after all these years. As for what was going on inside the club, he assumed that only Derrick knew the details.
"That's good. The less we know, the better. The one who got us into this mess should bear the responsibility alone. We shouldn't suffer for him, right?" Joseph still didn't realize the role Derrick played in this matter. He only thought that David and Dale were the culprits.
"You're right. I'll talk to the police now. Give them your phone," Charles instructed.
"Okay." Joseph confidently handed his phone over to the police.
