Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 352 Provoke Charles

Edward hadn't seen Nancy for two days now. And the longer he couldn't get through to her, the more anxious he got.

The only person he could contact right now was Charles, but to his surprise, the man did not answer when he tried reaching him.

"Uncle Edward, where is mommy?" the kids, who also had no idea of what happened, asked with evident worry.

Nancy would never disappear for so long without letting Bobby and Nadia know where she was going. And now that they couldn't contact her, the children were even more nervous. Massaging his nape, Edward was lost for words. He couldn't tell the kids that their mother was missing, and even that thought of that possibility sent shivers down his spine.

So instead, he scoured for an excuse and said, "Your daddy and mommy must have gone on a trip. I can't contact them, so you two just stay here."

"Uncle Edward, shouldn't daddy and mommy go on a trip after they get married? But why did they leave even before the wedding? Also, why did they leave Nadia and me?" As a child with sharp senses, Bobby would always be the first to know if there anything terrible hah happened to their parents.

So when the boy directly asked those questions, Edward immediately knew that the Bobby had caught on to something. Perhaps nothing terrible happened to them. After all, there was no news about Charles and

Nancy circulating the media right now.

But why didn't they answer his call? If they were enjoying a trip somewhere else, they would have responded to his call, knowing that the kids were with him. Weren't they worried about Bobby and Nadia? "Maybe your daddy and mommy are too busy preparing their wedding. Don't worry, I'm sure they will call once they find the time." Edward could only try his best to come up with an excuse. In fact, even he did not believe what he said either.

"Uncle Edward, do you think daddy will hurt mommy?" Nadia, who was more innocent than her brother, asked worriedly.

"Your daddy loves your mommy very much, and I'm sure he will never hurt her. Come on! It's time to go to bed. You still have to go to kindergarten tomorrow!" In an attempt to coax the two children, Edward changed the topic.

And even though Bobby nodded in acknowledgment, doubts still clouded his young mind.

At the same time, in Joseph's villa, Derrick leisurely walked in the garden.

Both his hands were clasped behind him while he surveyed the plants.

As soon as Joseph arrived at the mansion and got out of his car, he strode towards his father.

"Dad, grandpa doesn't know you're back yet. Aren't you going to see him?"

"It's not the right time yet. If I purposely don't visit him for days, I'm sure he'll beg to see me. So, don't say anything to them. You treat them as your family, but they only see you as an enemy!" Derrick sneered at his son.

"Dad, I'm not a fool. I know what I should and shouldn't say!" The ever doting son that Joseph was flashed his father a reassuring smile.

The latter, who still had his hands clasped on his back, turned to gaze at his son and queried, "Did you see Charles tonight?"

"Ah-huh, I did," Joseph answered, recalling the family dinner Frederic had organized.

Charles had already sat at the table, reading a newspaper leisurely when Joseph arrived.

"Brother, what are you looking at?" Joseph's lips curved into a smile as he asked that.

"The news. Do you want to read it?" Although Charles answered casually, he didn't bother to even gaze at his cousin and instead kept his eyes fixed on the newspaper.

"Brother, you know I'm only interested in beautiful women and not gossips on the newspaper," Joseph uttered with a grin and sat across his cousin. Then, after surveying the table, he asked, "I don't see Nancy and the kids. Where are they?"

"Why? Do you miss them?" Still not paying attention to his cousin, Charles flipped the newspaper and continued reading.

"Well, of course, I miss them. I haven't seen them in a while." Evidently, the silly bachelor was trying to tease Charles. The latter had always been so stern and distant, and he figured messing up with him would make things somehow lighter. So, he added, "I have a lot of women around me, but I don't have time to miss them like I do with your kids."

"They don't need you to care for them. Just think about yourself. Don't you have any plans to get married?" At this time, Frederic approached the table while tightly leaning on his crutch for support.

After shortly glancing at their authoritative grandfather,

Joseph shrugged and smiled, "No."

Suddenly, Charles put down the newspaper, revealing his well-sculpted handsome face clearly. And with indifferent pair of eyes, he glanced at his cousin.

"Joseph, do you know Edward Wu?" After learning that Edward had lived overseas for some time-at the same city where Joseph used to reside-he figured that the two must have known each other or even at least acquainted.

Perhaps he could get some information about that man from his cousin.

However, contrary to his expectation, Joseph seemed stunned at his question. The latter even cocked his head to one side and thought for a while before saying, "Edward Wu? I don't know him. Is he your client?"

"Forget it. I just thought you might know him. Let's just eat," Charles answered nonchalantly and retracted his gaze from the latter.

"How's your wedding preparations going? Why didn't you bring Nancy and the kids back today? I was hoping to see them." Suddenly the head patriarch of the family, Frederic, asked in his usual domineering voice.

"They have something to do," Charles answered perfunctorily while his eyes were glued to his plate.

"Oh, I see." The trembling old man managed to sit down as he tightly leaned on the armrest of his chair.

And for the entirety of the family dinner, Frederic talked about the affairs of their company with Charles, while Joseph sat silent and pretended not to care about it.

However, little did the others knew, he was intently listening to their conversation the whole time.

Derrick's question brought his son back to his senses after a while of reminiscing the family dinner. "I think you have overestimated Charles. I can tell from his words that he seems to have a conflict with the shareholders," Joseph answered.

Derrick paused for a moment and said, "Joseph, what Charles wants you to hear must not be true. Don't take it lightly. You can figure it out later. By the way, did he mention anything about those photos?" "No, not a word of it." Joseph shook his head.

"Well, I bet he was uncomfortable and just did not want you to see it." Derrick rubbed his chin while his eyes were now locked on the plants in the garden.

"Do you think he will really marry Nancy again?" Although the news had been scattered online, Joseph was still skeptical about whether the marriage would push through this time. After all, they had been engaged once before, but the party ended in a ruckus.

"It's hard to say. Let's just wait and see!" Derrick said after thinking for a while.

"I don't think they can get married. Have you seen the articles about their break-up? It's all over the internet! Ha-ha, it's a mess, dad!" As if he won a lottery, Joseph burst into devious laughter, obviously basking in the glory of the couple's tragedy.

"Yes, I didn't expect that Anna would really do that. She is a useful pawn, after all!" A sinister smile crept on Derrick's lips as he spat those words.

"Oh, I'm still curious, Dad. How did you know Anna? And how did you know that she sent those photos to Abby?" With furrowed brows, Joseph intently looked at his father to scrutinize the expression on the latter's face.

"I don't know Anna, but I know her father!" As those words escaped Derrick's lips, a glint of viciousness flashed across his eyes. Obviously, Derrick was one of the persons behind that scheme with Anna, and he'd make sure that Charles would never find out.

The following day, Edward sent the children to the kindergarten and drove to the TS Group right after.

He couldn't let another day pass without getting any news about Nancy. The more he waited, the crazier and more distraught he grew.

As soon as he barged in Charles's office, he saw the latter engaged in a pile of paperwork.

"What are you doing here?" The latter lifted his head and asked indifferently the moment he saw his guest.

"What? You didn't expect me to come here?" Unbothered by that greeting, Edward invited himself on the couch and sat down.

At the same time, Charles merely shrugged his shoulders and raised his brows before saying, "Yeah, I didn't. So what brought you all the way to my office?"

"I'm looking for Nancy, okay? I haven't heard from her in days, and I'm really worried." Edward decided not to sugarcoat his words. After all, he had every right to ask that when the kids were left under his roof without their mother.

Instead of replying, Charles stood up from his swivel chair and walked towards the small table that housed his office liquors. He then poured two glasses of wine and handed one to Edward on the couch. After he took some time off for two days, Charles's anger had finally died down.

In fact, he purposely ignored Edward during those days to test the latter's attitude and see if he would attempt to make a move.

Now that the news about his break-up with Nancy was all over the internet, Charles figured that Edward must be the most ecstatic one out of everyone else-well aside from Angelina, his mother.

So with his sharp gaze, Charles tried to scrutinize the man's face to confirm his suspicions.

Without hesitation, Charles proceeded to ask his question, "Tell me your relationship with Nancy when you two met abroad."

Upon hearing this, Edward couldn't help arching his brows and grinning with satisfaction.

He knew that his relationship with Nancy was bothering Charles so much. And the way his jaws hardened only proved what Edward was thinking.

"Nancy and I had a good run abroad. In fact, some would say that we're just like a couple. Why? Are you jealous?" The moment those words escaped his lips, and a smug smile etched on his face, Edward knew that there was no way Charles would not be provoked.
