Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 343 Does She Love Him

Edward took the kids to the kindergarten.

Nancy drove to the hospital.

Since her car was a wreck, Charles had bought Nancy a new one.

"Well, it seems that Director Nancy got a new car again?" a nurse said enviously.

"Yes, well Director Nancy is going to marry Mr. Fu. It's probably no problem for him," a nurse replied.

"I thought his mother doesn't like Director Nancy at all though. She probably doesn't like her family," a nurse said in a voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Mr. Fu is supposed to be a stubborn man though. Why would he listen to his mother?"

"Well marriage in the rich and powerful families has always been profit oriented, and the Fu family is no different!"

Nancy tried to ignore all these conversations.

She went straight into her office, changed her clothes and was about to make the rounds of the wards.

She got changed and immediately saw Clark coming in on a wheelchair.

"Nancy..."

Why was her father here?

Now that Jill and Fannie weren't around, he was probably a little sad. At least, that was what made

sense.

"Hey, dad. What are you doing here?"

"I checked my phone and saw that you're going to marry Charles!" Clark said excitedly.

"I'm not sure yet," answered Nancy.

"Nancy, I know Jill and Fannie did a lot of bad things in the past, but Fannie is still your sister after all!" Clark rubbed the armrest of the wheelchair nervously. "I'm getting old and I'm not exactly in good health now. Although Jill isn't good to me, she can take care of me at least. How about..."

Hearing this, Nancy already understood why he came.

He just wanted her to talk to Charles for Jill and Fannie.

Nancy nodded, "Dad, I know. I will ask Charles to let Jill and Fannie go home as soon as possible."

"Thank you, Nancy. I'm sorry to bother you!" Clark said, with tears in his eyes.

With a smile, she asked, "How did you get here? Let me take you back home?"

"No, No. I can get back by myself. I know you're busy. I won't disturb you anymore. You can go back to your work!" Then he hurriedly pressed the switch of the wheelchair and moved towards the door. Nancy felt so sorry for him. The once ferocious and powerful Clark was just an old man now!

When Clark came to the door, he suddenly turned his head and said, "Nancy, Angelina wants to hurt you. Be careful."

"I know, Dad!" said Nancy.

"Good! Smart girl." Charles then eventually left the room.

Nancy wasn't sure what was wrong but she just wanted to cry.

Sometimes people were reminded of their past and right now Nancy wasn't happy about hers.

Her heat sank like a stone in a lake.

Her day from that moment on, was ruined.

After work in the afternoon, her mood still hadn't improved.

"Director Nancy, someone is looking for you!" Erin came in and said mysteriously.

"Who?" Nancy asked, intrigued.

"I can't tell you. You'll figure it out when you go downstairs," Erin said with a mischievous smile.

Nancy shrugged. "Okay, let me go see who it is."

Erin waved her hand at her and left.

Looking at her slender figure exit, Nancy smiled. This little nurse used to be so timid. Nowadays she was the picture of confidence and she was happy almost every day. Nancy often received letters of gratitude from the family of the patients. She thought that it might be a family of the patients waiting to thank her downstairs.

She rather instinctively put a smile on her face.

She got downstairs only to see Charles leaning against a car.

Nancy was a little surprised and said, "Why aren't you picking the kids up?"

"The kids are with Edward. They're more interested in him so I thought I'd take this opportunity to spend time with you!" Charles teased.

However, Nancy was not in the mood to joke around. "Edward is good with the kids. You don't need to be jealous!"

"Being jealous means that I'm normal. If I am not jealous that'll probably be a worry!" Charles said as he opened the car door.

"Nonsense!" She wondered why he opened the door for her. She drove in her own car today. "You know I drove here today. Why did you come to pick me up?"

"I just couldn't wait to see you, so I came to pick you up!" He didn't care who was watching; he leaned in and kissed Nancy. "Your car... Just leave it here. Just get in my car."

Nancy was suddenly flushed. She wasn't in the mood for his incessant badgering so she reluctantly got in.

Charles shut the door behind her and got into the driver's seat.

Sitting in the back seat, Nancy lowered her head and stayed silent.

Charles smiled faintly. "What's wrong? You don't look very happy."

"No!" Looking outside, Nancy realized they were going nowhere near their house, nor Edward's. "Charles, where are you going?"

"Let's go to the sanatorium to visit mom," Charles said gently.

"Mom?" Nancy was stunned. She didn't expect Charles address her mom as 'mom'.

"Well, I'm going to marry you. I have to ask for mom's opinion. Didn't you say that you would only marry me if mom was on board?" said Charles.

"You know, my mother will definitely agree. But just because my mom is fine with it, that doesn't mean your mom will be okay with it. You'd better ask her!" said Nancy indifferently.

"Silly girl, you don't need to worry about that. You just need to know one thing. That is, I love you, I love you very much!" Charles said affectionately.

He'd told her that he loved her on many occasions Nancy never said it back though.

Charles felt a little disappointed. To be honest, he still couldn't figure out whether Nancy loved him or not. That was why a person of his status and stature, being the most sought after bachelor in the city, was still insecure.

Sometimes he even felt that Nancy wasn't worried about losing him!

Nancy pressed her lips and sat silently.

Her silence just made him worry more. He sulked and drove on.

Nancy just continued looking out of the window. Charles still had no idea what she was feeling.

She was always so happy when she saw Edward; why did she not feel that for him? Charles felt the jealousy creep in again.

"Nancy, do you really love me?" Charles asked her gloomily, feeling uneasy.

"What?" Nancy wasn't expecting that. She blushed and didn't know how to answer.

"Nancy, we are going to get married. Is it that difficult for you to say you love me?" Charles smiled cheekily.

He was a little bitter in all honesty. He always tried his best to make Nancy happy but he just felt that she didn't care.

Did she love him?
