Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 339 Wild Guesses

In utter fury, Charles strode towards the bathroom and kicked the door, not minding if he would destroy it.

Simultaneously, Nancy, who was washing her body under the showerhead, suddenly jolted in shock and shouted at the top of her lungs. She could feel her heart beating frantically.

In a panic, she crossed her arms against her chest, but failed to cover the lower part of her body.

"Who are you?! What are you doing?!" Nancy yelled, thinking that it was a complete stranger who barged inside.

She had known Edward for so many years, and the man would never break in uninvited, especially since she was totally naked under the shower.

So in horror, she grabbed the towel hanging on the rack in an attempt to cover her body.

However, before she could reach it, a hand suddenly grabbed her arm, causing her to fall against a chest as hard as a brick. "Nancy, it's me!"

"What?! You! Why are you here?" she questioned upon recognizing the baritone voice of the man.

Charles, who barged inside like some predator about to attack its prey, thought she and Edward were taking a shower together.

But as soon as he broke in, he found no trace of Edward in the bathroom.

Even when he turned around and surveyed the entire space, no one was around except for Nancy, whose body was dripping with water. Apparently, the ever-suspicious Charles was jealous of nothing! He misunderstood the entire situation again.

"The kids told me that you were taking a shower, and they wanted me to rub your back!" Scouring for an excuse, Charles did not think twice before answering, and gently placed his hand on her bareback. Charles wanted to rub her back? In Edward's house? What was he thinking?

"No, No. I don't need you to rub my back. Get out now! Edward will see us!" As she spoke, Nancy brushed off his arms, obviously trying to get rid of him.

"Really?" Embarrassed by her refusal, Charles almost hurried to flee outside. But even though he gently pushed her away, his eyes remained fixated on the woman's curvaceous figure. "Yeah. No, thanks! Come on, Charles! Get out of here!" Nancy commanded in a soft but firm voice. She then looked at the floor, trying to conceal the shyness that was slowly rising within her.

"Okay." After saying that, Charles lowered his head and planted a soft kiss on her lips before turning around towards the door.

However, before he could fully push it open, Edward's anxious voice sounded from the corridor, "Nancy, what happened? I heard a loud noise just now!"

Surprised, Charles immediately closed the half-opened door again while Nancy gnashed her teeth and tightly held on the towel.

"Nancy, what's going on?" Edward asked again and pounded the bathroom door three times.

As Nancy opened her mouth and prepared to say something, Charles gently covered her lips. He then gestured to keep silent while a mischievous smug found its way on his lips. "Edward, I'm taking a bath with Nancy. Don't come in!" he suddenly said, much to the former's resistance.

And while Nancy widened her eyes in utter surprise, Edward suddenly froze on his feet outside.

He was about to knock again when Charles' voice resounded from inside. Obviously, he didn't know that he was in there with Nancy.

When he heard a sudden, blaring noise, he thought that Nancy knocked off something and slipped. So he hurried and check on her.

But then, his eyes fell on the bathroom door and caught sight of the slight crack.

Immediately, he knew it must be Charles!

At this moment, Bobby and Nadia ran out of the room. "Dad, what happened?" both of them asked in unison, eyeing Edward with a mixture of worry and anxiousness.

"Nothing, kids. Your mommy is just taking a bath. Come on, let's go! I'll find you a picture of mandarin ducks swimming in the water." Edward guided the kids away from the bathroom.

"Okay, dad!" Nadia, who almost jumped in elation, exclaimed in excitement. Edward knew that the kids were fond of small animals, so he used it as a bait to lure them away and dismiss their worry.

And while it worked on Nadia, Bobby-who was wiser than his age-remained looking at that the bathroom with a slight frown on his lips.

"Come on, Bobby. Let's go and see the mandarin ducks. " Upon seeing the little boy hesitating to leave, Edward suddenly walked back and grabbed his hand.

"Okay." Finally, Bobby withdrew his sight and answered in a low voice. He walked with heavy shoulders downstairs, where they saw pictures of ducks as Edward promised.

After a while, Charles and Nancy came out of the bathroom while the children and Edward were still busy playing in the study.

Even though the former thought he was triumphant in fooling Edward, Charles began to think otherwise a soon as he saw how Nancy glared at him with utmost hatred.

Her nose flared aggressively while her brows furrowed tightly, almost forming a creased line on her forehead.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" he muttered and sneered, obviously unbothered by the deathly stares of the woman he loved.

"Can't you just go home?" At this point, Nancy was already running thin on her patience. She was on the verge of walking out on him and giving him the silent treatment.

"I just arrived, but why are you sending me back already?!

With her eyes wide open, she shouted helplessly, "Charles!"

But the stubborn man merely knitted his brows and fought back, "No! I'm going to stay tonight!"

"What?!

You're really so stubborn!" Nancy's voice, powered by her seething anger, rose to the roof. She didn't care if the kids could hear them. At this point, she just wanted Charles out of her sight. "Tell me which room you are in." Ignoring her tantrum, Charles gazed back and forth at the two bedrooms.

"This is Edward's home. You can't do whatever you want!" Nancy crossed her arms against her chest and eyed him with the most languid look she could muster.

And because Charles was used to being treated as an alpha male, he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Do I need others' permission to do anything to my woman?" Then, he wrapped his arm on her shoulder and ordered, "Come on! Take me to your room."

"There are many guest rooms here!" All of a sudden, Edward emerged from the study, piercing his indifferent gaze at Charles.

"Oh?" The latter raised his eyebrows with disdain and retorted, "Edward, you know I'm Nancy's boyfriend, and we live together. So why are you still so bent on stealing her away from me?"

"You can live with Nancy all you want, but you can't do anything you please in my house without my permission. If you want to share a room with her, then go somewhere else!" Edward replied in neither humble nor pushy tone while managing to flash his rival a calm smile. He wanted to show the latter that he was, in no way, threatened by him.

And while Nancy was caught in the middle of a staredown battle between these two men, the urge to kick Charles down the stairs and get rid of him rose within her.

"Charles, can you just please go back?" she pleaded, this time in a softer tone hoping that the hard-headed man would finally listen.

"I will leave only if you and the kids are coming with me." His baritone voice sounded with confidence and finality.

In fact, he was completely okay in letting the kids sleep here tonight, but not Nancy. Certainly not her!

"I don't care about your relationship with Nancy. You know this is my home. So if you want to spend the night here, you are very much welcome to do so. But you have to listen to me and do as I say; otherwise, I will call the police!" As Edward laid down those conditions, his sharp eyes were intently glued at Charles.

The former seemed really broad-minded and a gentleman-much contrary to the hot-tempered and grouchy man that Charles was.

And even though Edward stayed calm most of the time, he could never let someone disrespect him in his own house.

"It seems that you still haven't read the news. Well, let me tell you, Edward: Nancy and I are getting married. She is bound to be with me forever, and no one can change that, not even you!" Charles had planned to surprise Nancy with that news, but facing Edward's aggressiveness, he had no other choice but to spill it so that the latter would back off.

And true enough, the moment he mentioned that, Edward pursed his lips into a thin line and kept mum.

At the same time, Bobby, who stuck his head against the door of the study to listen, was also caught in utter surprise.

He couldn't contain his excitement, so he stormed out of the study with Nadia tailing behind him.

"Daddy, are you really going to marry Mommy?" the young boy asked, with his eyes twinkling in sheer bliss.

"Yes, big boy! I am marrying your mommy!" Charles ruffled his son's hair and replied.

"Wow! Finally, Daddy!" Bobby thought that his wish had finally come true. It was only a matter of time before they became officially registered as a family! "Daddy, give me a kiss!" Meanwhile, Nadia tiptoed and offered a hug to her father.

Charles bent down and immediately smooched her cheek with a kiss.

"Alright. I'm going to bed!" Edward, who managed to utter a sentence after being frozen to his feet, went downstairs without looking back.

"Mommy, are you okay?" Upon seeing how his mother blankly stared at his father, Bobby stretched out his little hand and gently nudged Nancy.

"Oh, yes, baby. Come on, let's go to bed!" Even after shaking her head a couple of times, Nancy could still not digest Charles' revelation.

'He's going to marry me? Why didn't I know it?

Did Charles make the decision by himself again?

Why didn't he discuss it with me in advance? This is not a simple decision to make!

More than that, he hasn't even proposed!' All those thoughts bombarded Nancy's head. Charles had always been so overbearing and dictatorial, but she didn't expect him to stretch out of it and decide their marriage by himself!

So, feeling that she was, once again, dominated by the stubborn mule that Charles was, Nancy clenched her fists tightly and replied, "I'm not going to marry you."
