Charles' heart almost jumped out of his throat.

Jealousy, like a poisonous snake, wrapped around his heart. He straightened his back, and his eyes shrank dangerously. A strange wave of coldness spread around him.

The surrounding became eerily silent.

Frightened, Nancy lowered her head.

Bobby and Nadia also sensed that something was wrong. Nadia bit her fingers subconsciously.

Bobby frowned unhappily. He had no idea why his Daddy was angry, and that vexed him.

'Is Daddy angry because of me and Nadia?' thought Bobby.

Nadia blinked her big eyes in confusion. What was she supposed to do now?

She prayed in her heart for her Daddy so that he would calm down. After all, Nadia was a girl, and she was timiderthan Bobby.

Bobby narrowed his big eyes and clenched his fists. His lips pursed as his face turned cold and stiff. He looked like an irked lion ready to pounce. If Charles dared to attack, then he would retaliate without a second thought.

Edward's mouth twitched when he saw the tense atmosphere. He said in a low voice, "Mr. Fu, since you brought Miss Ning here yourself, there is no reason for you to worry, now is there?"

Charles snorted with contempt at Edward's flimsy reasoning and walked out without saying anything.

Nadia ran to the porch and watched as the car drove away. She murmured to herself, "Daddy is so scary! Daddy becomes scary when he is angry."

Trying to regain her composure, Nancy blinked her eyes and stared at the empty space where Charles once stood. Realizing how awkward of a situation it was, she smiled at Edward. "Edward, I'm sorry. He... He has a sickness. It prompts him to have extreme mood swings."

Bobby and Nadia were speechless. What was wrong with Daddy?

When did Daddy get sick? Why didn't they know?

"Dad, what's wrong with my Daddy?" Nadia ran back and asked Edward innocently.

Edward smiled subtly. He picked up Nadia and kissed her on the cheek. "Every man has your Daddy's illness."

"What's that?" Nadia didn't understand.

Nancy bit her lips in frustration. Was she defending Charles? Moreover, why should she even defend Charles in the first place?

"Well, the illness is called jealousy," Edward said with a smile.

Nadia shook her head hard. "It's not jealousy. It's just scary."

Bobby grinned, "Dad suffers Daddy's disease too. Nadia, since you aren't a boy, you won't understand."

Bobby thought he had the same illness.

Because he would also get angry when the little girls in the kindergarten ignored him.

"Dad, do you have the same illness?" Nadia looked at

Edward and asked in disbelief.

A smile floated in Edward's eyes. He gave Nancy a brief glance and said, "Nadia, why don't you do this? Every time you come across something you don't understand, write that down in a diary. When you fill that diary, I will explain them to you one by one."

"Okay," Nadia answered.

"Kids, now it's time for you to check out your rooms and see if it's lacking anything. If it is, just tell me. I'll take you to buy it, okay?" Edward raised his voice and said happily.

"Okay!" Bobby and Nadia replied at the same time.

"Nancy, don't stand there like a fool. Come along and take a look at your room too," said Edward.

"Thank you, Edward," said Nancy apologetically.

"You're welcome!" Edward replied with a smile.

"Let's go, kids. Let's have a look!" With a mischievous smile, Nancy took Bobby's hand and went upstairs. Edward was in a trance. Looking at Nancy's smiling face, he felt as if he had returned to his days abroad.

After leaving Edward's house, Charles drove directly to the company.

Today, Charles looked colder than usual. This scared the subordinates to no end. Lately, they have discovered that their boss would go through massive mood swings for no apparent reason. And this caused them to be overwrought with fear.

"Mr. Fu." Hiram came over and greeted him.

In the TS Group, Hiram was the only person other than Jay, who could take the exclusive elevator with Charles.

"What have you found about Nancy's kidnapping?"

Charles asked coldly with his hands in his pockets.

"It's exactly as we guessed. It was your mother who asked Jill and Fannie to kidnap Nancy," Hiram said.

Charles scoffed, unamused.

"What should we do now?" Hiram asked with embarrassment.

Regardless of Angelina's viciousness, she was still Charles' mother. Hiram dared not act rashly.

"Ask someone to bring Fannie and Jill to the police station. As for others...11 Charles frowned in annoyance. Of course, the others here referred to his mother, Angelina.

His mother had gone too far this time. Even if she didn't like Nancy, she shouldn't just outright ask someone to kidnap her.

In cases involving his mother, Charles used to pretend as if nothing happened in the past. But if he did nothing this time, what was the guarantee that his mother wouldn't do something similar in the future? He dared not imagine what his mother would cook up next!

Nancy would have already died several times if it weren't for his grandpa and him keeping his mother at bay.

"Okay!" Hiram replied in a low voice.

Charles and Hiram took the elevator to the top floor. As soon as they walked out of the elevator, Charles ordered coldly, "Hiram, gather the senior executives for a meeting." "Yes, sir!"

Jill and Fannie didn't expect Nancy to be safe and sound.

"Mom, what should we do now?" Fannie was as anxious as an ant on a hot pot.

"Let's just observe the undercurrents for now. We are considered Nancy's kin, and because of that, he was lenient before. So there are high chances that he would look over this time too." Jill was also worried, but she still wanted to take a chance.

"I don't think this is a good idea!" Clark said angrily.

Jill and Fannie had gone too far this time.

"What do you mean? Nancy is your daughter. She can't be vicious enough to ignore her own biological father's life and death!" Jill shouted.

"Didn't you watch the news? Obviously, it's Angelina who betrayed you two. She has a firm grasp of your weakness. She knows that you have no money! If you dare to expose her, it will only cause a slight inconvenience for her. But for you, it will become be a matter of life and death. She knows that if the matter is exposed, you would have to return the money, but you have nothing. It could even be twisted as you being unwilling to return the money," Clark analyzed.

"Angelina is a shrewd woman. She has prepared a trap for us. She knows we can't do anything to her. That's why she dared to publish the news openly."

"Yes, that vicious woman knows that as long as we don't expose her, we can still keep the money. Once we expose her, we will have nothing!" Jill, who thought herself as smart and scheming, was just like a mischievous child in front of Angelina.

"What will Charles do to us?" Fannie trembled with fear. "Will he send us to the police station?"

Clark sighed, "It's hard to say."
