Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 328 A Low Sigh

Charles immediately knew that she was complaining about his stalking.

If she continued to contact Edward, Charles wouldn't stop asking Hiram to follow her.

Nancy bathed the children and took them to their rooms to sleep.

Once she finished, she returned to her bedroom.

She found Charles seated on a chair and flipping through some documents.

That night, Nancy was in no mood to be around him. She turned to leave for the guest bedroom.

As she was walking out, Charles stretched out his arm and pulled her towards him. He sighed, "Nancy, what should I do?"

"Charles, can I ask you a question?" she asked feebly.

"What is it, Nancy?" Charles took a deep breath and ran his hands through her hair.

Nancy hesitated before asking, "Are you still in love with the woman who gave birth to your child five years ago?"

He chuckled softly at her question. "Why are you asking? Do you want me to fall in love with her?"

She frowned at him, unsatisfied with his reply. Nancy contemplated his question, unsure what to tell him.

"I'm not sure."

"Don't be silly. I don't know whether I love her or not, and it doesn't matter to me. All I know is that I love you.

Marry me, Nancy!" Charles took out a ring he had prepared for her.

Sitting her down gently on the chair, he knelt on one knee in front of her. "I can't wait any longer. Marry me, Nancy," he said again.

Staring deeply at her, Nancy thought his eyes resembled a deep pool of cold water. It felt as though your soul would be sucked into them if you looked at him long enough.

Nancy looked away from him, blinking rapidly. 'No, no, no.'

Pushing him away, she protested, "Charles, don't play like that. You had a pleasant meal with Christine yesterday. How can you even talk like this now? You cheated on me! You're a liar! Go away!" Thinking back to the photo of Charles and Christine together, Nancy was enraged. She pushed him away again with her small hands.

"Where should I go? Wherever you are is my home," he asked, taking her hands in his.

"I don't know, go and find Christine. She's young and beautiful..." she said bitterly.

"Nancy, you also know how to be a flirt. Come on! Flirt with me," he teased, grinning wickedly.

Nancy's face colored in embarrassment. "I don't want to flirt with you..."

"Would you rather flirt with Edward?" he questioned.

Edward had always been a thorn in Charles' heart. He had always made Charles feel uncomfortable, and he desperately wanted to pull that thorn out.

"I don't need to flirt with Edward! He's always been good to me," she shot back at him.

Edward always had her best intentions at heart. As long as he was by her side, Nancy didn't need to worry about anything.

"Does he love you?" Charles asked in a serious tone.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore, Charles. I'm tired."

His question was too complicated for her to answer.

If Edward didn't love her, then was it Charles who loved her?

Sometimes he was kind, other times cruel to her. Was that love?

Nancy let it slip from her mind that in love, sometimes there was suffering.

"I haven't even had dinner yet! Don't sleep yet!" Charles nuzzled his face close to her and said, "If you can't feed me, maybe you can satisfy me another way...' "Why are you still hungry? Didn't you eat the steamed buns?" Nancy asked angrily.

"I'm not just talking about food, Nancy! I'm also hungry in other ways. You have to be responsible for me!" he demanded. "Well... I'll make some food for you right now. Just wait a minute!" Nancy pulled away from him and rushed to the kitchen. She was afraid he would mistreat her again.

Charles smiled as he looked at Nancy's fleeing figure.

To appease him and stop him from fantasizing about her, Nancy prepared a large bowl of noodles for him.

She was so nervous that she burned herself while cooking.

Charles sat down at the table. Nancy placed the crystal bowl in front of him, and he noticed the blisters on her fingers.

"Nancy..." He gently took her hands into his, frowning. "You should be more careful. You not only treat others poorly but yourself as well. Am I right?"

With an embarrassed smile, Nancy said, "It's only a few blisters. What's the matter?"

"Does it hurt? I feel sorry for you!" he said, making a fuss over her hands.

Nancy glanced at the scratch on his neck, feeling apologetic.

She was so angry at him that she had scratched him.

"Charles, your neck..." she started saying. She intended to apologize, but couldn't bring herself to say sorry.

Surprised by her concern, Charles smiled softly at her.

"You should say sorry, right? How can I show up in public tomorrow with this?" he joked, gesturing at the scratch.

"Why? Are you afraid you can't see Christine?" Nancy blurted out before considering her words.

"Are you jealous? I like it!" He smirked at her, lowering his head to eat the noodles. "Your noodles are delicious as always. Do you want a taste?"

"I'm fine, just eat it all. Don't worry about me." She shrugged his hands off and turned to leave.

"Nancy, don't go. Sit down and keep me company," Charles said.

Nancy couldn't figure out what was in Charles' mind. Every time she mentioned Christine, he would change the topic.

She sat down silently and turned on her phone.

Right as she opened her phone, a video of Christine in an interview popped up, and standing next to her was Angelina.

"Mrs. Fu, is it true that Christine and Charles are dating?" the reporter questioned.

"Christine and Charles are both single. It's normal for them to fall in love, am I right?" Angelina turned to smile at Christine.

"Miss Huang, does that mean that you're Charles' girlfriend now?" the reporter asked again.

Christine was a sly woman. With a coy smile, she replied, "We just know each other. You can ask him for yourself if I'm his girlfriend."

The ball was now in Charles' court.

After watching the interview, Nancy snatched the chopsticks from Charles and asked, "Tell me, Charles. Do you think Christine is your girlfriend?"

"Nancy, you're nagging more often these days. I'm not done eating yet. Will you let me finish?"

"1

With the chopsticks still in her hands, Nancy stared angrily at Charles and said, "What's your relationship with Christine? I won't let you eat until you answer me."

Charles dabbed his lips with a tissue gracefully.

"Why Nancy? Am I your boyfriend?"

he shot back. His question surprised Nancy.

"Stop playing, Charles. You always do this to me..."

It didn't matter whether she thought of Charles as her boyfriend or not. She was forced to hand her body over to him whenever he demanded it. This was a fact that couldn't be overlooked. "Don't be ridiculous. You're the only other woman who has seen every part of my body aside from my mother. You tell me! What is my relationship with Christine?"

It was only by coincidence that Charles and Christine ever even met.
