Mia exchanged glances with her husband and subtly nodded, implying, "Give us a minute." She needed to get some details sorted out with Leo.

Leo didn't beat around the bush, "My granddad was against it before because if his granddaughter married my uncle, it'd mess up the family hierarchy. Now that I'm in the same generation, there's no way I'm diving into that chaos." Molly added with a smirk, "Just take Anya's hand and parade around in front of them. Let's see who dares to bring up matchmaking then."

Anya, who had been quietly biting her lip, remained silent.

Leo shrugged, "No point. Not gonna do it."

Andre figured his little sister could cause quite a ruckus if she got jealous, and he wasn't about to let that happen. He quickly headed to his sister's room, pulling his wife along to clear up any misunderstandings.

Sure enough, by the afternoon, the old man Leo mentioned showed up at the Cedillo's place with his granddaughter.

"Where's Leo?" the old man immediately asked Hansen upon entering.

Mia took a good look at the girl. She was barely twenty, around Anya's age, but way more outgoing and bold.

The old man wasted no time introducing his granddaughter, "This is Minnie, nineteen, about the same age as Leo. Perfect match, right?"

Hansen laughed off the suggestion, "Come on, Aaron. Let the kids figure it out themselves. It's their lives."

Aaron, not one to back down, retorted, "Didn't you meddle quite a bit in Andre's wedding?"

He glanced over at Mia, holding her baby, and remarked on how fast things had progressed.

Aaron's ideal son-in-law was a man at the pinnacle of power. Andre's age had never been an issue since his capabilities far outweighed it. But the Irvin family swooped in out of nowhere, making him shift his hopes to the Cedillo family's grandson, who was the right age. Caught off guard, Hansen tried to steer the conversation, "Minnie's a lovely girl. Hasn't she met anyone nice while she's been away?"

The girl on the sofa shook her head, a habit more common in the West, her body language expressive. "Grandpa Aaron, I prefer men from our country. So, I don't care for those abroad."

Hansen seized the moment, "Minnie and my Anya are about the same age. It's time they both start dating."

"Anya is...?" Aaron, thrown off by the unfamiliar name, inadvertently fell into Hansen's trap and asked.

Hansen vaguely replied, "Anya, well, she's got a bit of a thing with our Leo."

Aaron was stunned. The idea of a union with the Cedillo family now seemed unlikely.

Mia discreetly gave her dad a thumbs up, hidden behind her son: Genius.

Hansen, having raised two remarkable sons, Bruce and Andre, was no ordinary man.

Later, Anya showed up before Leo did.

She and Molly had been out trying on bridesmaid dresses and had just returned from the venue. Without heading to her room, Hansen warmly pulled her aside, treating her as if she was already his future "granddaughter-in-law." Seeing the gentle and lovely Anya, Minnie's eyes sparkled with fondness. "Grandpa Aaron, your granddaughter-in-law is adorable and pretty."

Anya, puzzled, looked at Hansen, "Granddaughter-in-law?"

Jade, equally surprised, wondered what she had missed.

"Thanks, Minnie. My Anya's quite the campus beauty, aren't you?" Hansen boasted about the women in his family.

Anya pouted, "Chad didn't want me to be the campus beauty, but my aunt and mom were."

Hansen grumbled under his breath at his grandson, "That meddling kid. Don't listen to him."

Minnie, not shy at all, took a seat next to Anya, "Hi, I'm Minnie. I hear we're the same age, but you look so young."

Anya glanced at her outfit, wondering if it made her look childish. Meanwhile, Minnie's bold checkered shirt and tan complexion, along with her heavy makeup and flashy accessories, made her appear much older than Anya in her hoodie and jeans. Soon, Leo, having heard of Anya's return, showed up within minutes, swiftly pulling her away from the sofa.

Hansen, pointing at his grandson's retreating figure, added, "That Leo, can't stay away from Anya for a second." Mia was astonished by her father's smooth maneuvering that day.

Aaron didn't linger at the Cedillo's for long; Andre had a car ready to take them back to their hotel soon after.

Once they left, the Cedillo family breathed a collective sigh of relief after the day's exhausting hospitality.

Mia quickly joined Hansen, complimenting, "Dad, you're incredible."

Hansen, with a hint of pride, responded, "Just keeping it cool, no need to admire me."

He hadn't held his grandson all day and was eager to do so, snatching the baby for a cuddle. "Aaron wants to tie our families together to boost his business. The initial idea of Andre marrying into their family was shocking since Minnie was only sixteen then. I thought, 'My son can't be marrying a minor!' And now he's eyeing my grandson, but Minnie doesn't quite fit our Cedillo vibe."

Mia praised Hansen, "Dad, you're so wise and discerning."

Hansen beamed with pride, "Naturally."

As dinner approached, the Byrne family called; Chad was leaving.

Molly saw him off, and just before he left, Chad embraced her, whispering, "Molly, tomorrow I'll dress in your favorite style, with flowers in hand to pick you up."

Blushing, Molly realized she'd be the center of attention the next day, her nerves fluttering with anticipation and fear.

Despite the chill of spring, the evening was unexpectedly warm.

After seeing Chad off, Molly paused outside her room, caught by a faint scent of incense. As she contemplated entering, someone called from downstairs, "Molly, what are you up to? Dinner's ready." "Coming, Naomi."

...

As dusk settled, the girls all congregated in Molly's bedroom, transforming it into a celebration hub. Mia was busy inflating balloons, Anya was twisting them into shapes, while Stephania and Molly busied themselves with adorning the headboard-one decorating, the other directing.

Naomi, ever the attentive hostess, flitted in and out, bringing snacks and drinks for the girls. She paid special attention to Stephania, knowing she was not only a guest but also a valued friend of the family. Before long, little Tommy was ushered into his aunt's room by Andre, with a slight hint of desperation in his voice, "Mia, your son's crying again. As soon as it gets dark, he's glued to you."

Parenthood had its own set of rules, Mia thought, as she took Tommy into her arms, continuing her task with the balloons. "Molly, have all your dowry items been moved?" she asked, trying to divert her attention. "Chad took my stuff earlier today, and there's a bit left for tomorrow," Molly replied, then with a hint of nervousness added, "Mia, were you nervous the night before your wedding?"

"I was okay, considering I hardly knew anyone there."

Molly let out a sigh, "I, on the other hand, am acquainted with almost everyone from both sides."

Tommy's eyes, wide and curious, fixated on the shiny red balloons his mother was handling. Now adept at grabbing things, his little hands reached out, and then...
