Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 562
Little Joey looked up at his dad, puzzled. "Why's Mom upset?"
Hearing his wife's playful complaints, Andre chuckled warmly. "If being a regular guy is my worst flaw, I can live with that. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?"
The engagement ring that had been missing was now a reality. Although it lacked the traditional down-on-one-knee proposal, the fact that he and his son had chosen it together made it extraordinary-a keepsake for his little Mia to treasure forever. His Mia, tender-hearted but tough-talking, was moved yet unwilling to admit it.
That afternoon, a video shot to the top of the trending charts. Curiously, it was shared by gossip bloggers, paparazzi, and even mainstream financial news outlets joined in on the frenzy.
Turn on the computer, there's a news alert. Pick up the phone, the video pops up.
Mia's name became known to the nation, not because she was "Miss Gu" of old, but because she was "Mrs. Cedillo." She had married a top-tier man, always keeping things low-key, never one for fanfare. But her husband's midday appearance at a jewelry counter, buying a ring for her with their son in tow, had thrust her into the spotlight.
In the video, Andre even lifted a ring to their little bundle of joy, asking in a voice clear enough to be captured, "Do you think this suits Mia? Should we get this for Mom?"
Later, as he settled on a diamond ring and went to sign the papers, the image of him effortlessly holding their son with one hand and signing with the other captivated countless hearts.
In the comments, many female fans were posting:
"Andre's married, my heart's broken."
"Why is he still so devoted after getting married? So envious I could cry."
"Ahh, Andre talking with the baby, so warm."
"Who is this Mia, and why does the business tycoon like her?"
"A custom ring for his wife even after marriage, what a good man."
And there were fans jostling for the front row:
"Wow, the Cedillo genes are strong, that little guy is so cute."
"Little Henry Cedillo, so adorably chubby, like a cute little tiger. I want to steal him."
"That baby is so cute, helping daddy pick out a ring for mommy. What's the baby's name?"
"This kid looks no older than three months, such a little cutie. When did Andre become a dad, and we didn't know?"
"Out of the loop, are you? The last time Havenbrook Hotel was booked out, it was for little Henry Cedillo's one-month celebration. Crescent Park was cordoned off by the Cedillos." "He's so adorable, I want to steal him too."
"Let's form a group to steal him, there's strength in numbers."
"I've given up on chasing his dad; I'll just wait for him to grow up."
But as the positive comments piled up, so did the negative ones, growing in numbers.
"Who's this actor? This some kind of stunt?"
"Who's Mia, some unknown artist hogging the spotlight? Disgusting."
"Typical fame-hungry capitalist. Watch Mia skyrocket in followers and start her influencer journey. Old news."
"Hilarious, Andre's wife entering the celebrity circle? If that's true, Mia's not worthy of Andre. Cheap to be an entertainer, divorce please."
"Waiting for the divorce, showmances end quickly."
Some even criticized Andre, "Is this guy nuts? Taking a baby out in the cold to buy a diamond ring, trying to set up a 'good dad' image. Feel sorry for the child." The comments section erupted into arguments.
"Ma'am, did you just get the internet? Please check Andre's status before you speak. I'm embarrassed for you."
"Ever heard of celebrities needing a public image, but not business moguls? Andre's influence is well established in the business world. Blind critics are scary."
"People, the child wasn't naked and freezing, was he? Don't ever take your kids out in winter then, by your logic, that's just for show."
"As a store employee, I had the honor of seeing Andre and Henry today. The heating was more than adequate, and we had many babies in the store. Andre was a warm dad, wrapped the baby up well, always checking his little hands and face to make sure he wasn't cold. No image building, no reason for it."
The commentary erupted, and in no time, tens of thousands of comments had been made. By the time Mia refreshed the page, the count had surged past a hundred thousand.
Molly was furiously scrolling through the comments, unable to fend off the trolls on her own. She was so incensed she almost created a fake account to hit back at the haters.
Mia's identity was leaked, and now the Cedillo Group's official page was swarmed with messages-some curious about the woman who captured the business king's heart, others outright demanding a divorce.
Someone had dug up Mia's old school beauty contest photos and posted them online, sparking a fresh wave of debates and controversies. What started as waves of blessings and gossip gradually turned into a battlefield of heated debates.
Mars Arrowood shared his screenshot of the drama with a group chat. "Fresh drama, Andre and my godson are trending."
Conner Nettleton posted his incognito account's comments to the group. "Frontlines of the drama."
He liked every single comment that praised his godson's cuteness and every single one that bashed Andre. For the comments attacking Mia, he stirred the pot with, "Countdown begins-if Andre doesn't sort you out within 24 hours, may I go bankrupt." Mars, feeling untouchable and emboldened, teased, "That's what you get for flaunting your love in such a crowded place, serve you right."
Still, after enjoying the drama, Mars didn't drop the ball. "There's malicious guidance in the comments, someone abroad is attacking you with fake IDs, couldn't trace the accounts. Keep an eye on Cedillo Inc. stock prices."
Teddy popped up in the chat, sending a file with a nudge. "Andre, have a look at this, will ya?"
Conner chimed in, "I'll leave the sleuthing to you guys for finding the mastermind behind all this. I'm off to troll the trolls online. Haha, this is gonna be a blast. But seriously, my godson is just the cutest."
Miles away, Anya was already up to speed with the online buzz. She grabbed her phone and started firing back at the haters with her own account. But no matter how hard she tried, her comebacks just didn't hit the mark. Frustrated, she rang up Leo for backup. "Chad, you gotta get online, like, now!"
"I'm already on it," he replied with a smirk.
