Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 515
After Chad got home and saw Vivian lounging in the living room, he stormed upstairs, grabbed a few clothes, and left, making sure to lock both his bedroom and Molly's before heading out. "Mom, Dad, I'm staying at a hotel for a while. Don't expect me back," he called out, his voice tight with anger.
Vivian tried to follow him, but Chad turned and shouted, "Get lost!"
It was the first time anyone in the Byrne family had seen Chad so furious. He'd always been the epitome of self-control, never one to raise his voice. Clearly, Vivian had pushed him too far. Vivian stood there, frozen with fear, not daring to move.
The next day, Mia found out about the family drama. She showed up at her parents' place with her baby in tow. Mia had the kind of breast milk that could practically make a baby grow before your eyes. Andre also came back, saying, "Molly, tell me what happened."
Seeing her older brother, Molly's eyes filled with tears as she ran to him, "Andre, yesterday...," she began, recounting the events of the previous night. Andre listened and nodded, understanding what needed to be done. "You stay with Mia. I've got things to take care of." Molly watched as Andre, having just heard the news, headed for the door. Mia reassured her, "He's going to fix this."
Grateful, Molly hugged Mia. "Thank you, Mia. Home really is my safe haven."
Jade was feeling better, but the investigators on the arson case were under immense pressure. With Officer Chad wanting to get involved, the tension was palpable.
Late at night, Bruce made a call; in the morning, Kendrick gave orders; and now, Andre himself had shown up at the police station.
No one seemed truly concerned about solving the arson case; their focus was on clearing Jade's name. Andre's presence only added to the tension, especially after he asked, "What evidence do we need to prove Vivian framed my sister?"
Easton, "invited" into Andre's luxury car by his assistant, was questioned in a way that made him sweat despite the cold weather.
Chad knew what was going on and confronted Andre, "What are you planning?"
"Just making sure my sister's happy," Andre replied.
"I believe Molly's innocent. Let the police clear her name," Chad said firmly.
"And if they don't?" Andre pressed.
"If it was deliberate, we'll find the evidence," Chad replied confidently.
"My patience is limited. If we don't find evidence before my sister gets upset again, you know what I'll do," Andre warned.
With that, Chad got out of the car, and Andre drove away.
At the Cedillo household, Jade's room had become a quiet haven for four college students and a one-month-old baby.
The baby was reluctantly drinking water, unable to resist his mom's firm grip.
Mia, having heard about her friend's troubles, analyzed, "Molly, you got set up."
Molly nodded, "I realized it too late."
"Go back today with Naomi to get your study materials," Mia advised. "While you're there, try to figure out Vivian's intentions. Hold onto your grudge for now and focus on your exams with Leo. After that, we can deal with her. Andre and Chad won't be idle; they'll handle it." The baby, overhearing his mom, shook his head and waved his little arms, as if wanting to join the conversation.
Mia put down the bottle and looked tenderly at her son, "Once we know her motive, we'll deal with her accordingly. Vivian, the pretender-she won't know what hit her."
Leo added, "Jade, I agree with Mia. Focus on your studies. After your exams, we'll have plenty of time to deal with her."
Molly agreed, taking their advice to heart.
That afternoon, Naomi went with Molly to the Byrne house. They found Vivian pouring tea for Grandma Aubree and Grandpa Elmer. Naomi's smile was cold as she said, "So, it's you." Vivian, unsure of Naomi's status, acted cautiously.
Naomi didn't accept the offered tea. Instead, she looked straight at Vivian and said, "I wouldn't dare drink anything you serve."
Realizing she was dealing with someone formidable, Vivian placed the tea on the table.
Naomi, in front of the grandparents, knocked the tea over deliberately.
The room fell into an uncomfortable silence.
Vivian quickly stepped back as the hot water splashed, burning her slightly.
Molly couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at Naomi's display.
Soon after, Coleen appeared. "Molly, why are you back?"
"I'm here to pick up some study materials," Molly replied.
Going upstairs, Molly found her room locked. Coleen explained, "Your brother came home last night, grabbed a few things, and locked both your rooms."
Trying to save face despite knowing Coleen intended her to overhear, Vivian pretended to ignore the information, even though she had just managed to push Molly out. "Where is he now?" Molly asked.
"Your brother didn't want to upset you, so he's staying at a hotel," Coleen replied.
Molly felt warmth in her heart; her brother was indeed a good man. "Then I'll go see him later."
"Actually, there's something your father and I need to discuss with you upstairs," Coleen added, exchanging a knowing look with Naomi before ushering her daughter away.
Downstairs, Vivian's eyes narrowed as she watched Molly and Coleen ascend the stairs.
Once in the study, Molly's composure broke, "Mom, why did you let her stay here?"
Coleen's eyes held a storm beneath the surface, "Your grandma is too old to be left alone at a hotel. We had to make a decision."
"And besides, without keeping that troublemaker under close watch, who knows what mischief she might get up to next. For now, you'll stay with the Cedillos. Don't come back until this mess is sorted out. If I miss you, I'll come by the Cedillos to see you. If she wants to stay here so bad, let her."
"Just make sure Vivian doesn't get into our rooms; she's got sticky fingers. And try not to lose your temper. I'm worried about your health."
"Don't worry, I've got it under control," Coleen assured her.
Mother and daughter talked in the study for a good fifteen minutes before Molly, clutching her study materials, and Naomi left.
In the evening, Molly went to the police station to pick up Chad from work.
When Chad's shift ended, he took Molly by the hand and walked out right in front of everyone.
The squad watched the duo, each with their own thoughts about the increasingly scandalous pair.
Later that night, Chad took Molly out to cheer her up, treating her to a night out. He had already prepared two hotel key cards, handing one to Molly, "If you miss me, just go to the hotel and wait for me."
