Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 503
Coleen was fuming, the kind of fuming that made her want to grab the nearest pillow and scream into it. One moment she was all calm and collected, and the next, she was storming back into the hospital room, demanding to speak with her so-called best friend's
significant other. "Chad, get out here right now!"
Her son, who couldn't hide his smirk, got an earful. "Go on, your highness is throwing a fit again, calling you out by name."
Chad stood from his chair and ventured out into the hallway.
There, Jade's face was as red as a ripe tomato. "Mia never said that, you liar!"
Chad shrugged. "Oh, is that so? Guess I'm getting old and my memory's betraying me."
"Chad!" Jade was grinding her teeth so hard she could've turned a lollipop into dust.
Back at Maplewood Estates, Andre, who had just tucked his son into bed, braced himself for Mia's tirade.
"You lied, Andre! Molly never told you any of those things about me!"
Her voice was so loud it woke up their sleeping son, Henry, who started sobbing from the commotion.
Mia scooped up Henry, patting his little back, and shot Andre a glare that could freeze lava. "You're such a despicable, dirty, conniving weasel. You're sleeping alone tonight; we're still on a room break!"
Just when it seemed like peace was on the horizon, the men's foolishness had pushed their women further away.
When Hansen Cedillo later visited Maplewood Estates to see his grandson, he bombarded Mia with questions about the upcoming christening party. "Mia, have you sorted everything out with Andre? Have you arranged the custom gown, the invitations, the venue decorations? How many tables are we setting? Oh, and-"
"Wait!" Mia interjected, her hand up for pause. "Dad, one thing at a time, let me get a pen."
Hansen couldn't help but feel a sting of worry. "You mean to tell me you haven't arranged any of this yet?"
Mia, sheepishly admitting her inexperience as a new mom, hadn't discussed much with her husband due to their spat, and he hadn't reminded her either.
Hansen grumbled about how much easier things would have been if she'd stayed at home for the confinement period. As he held his sleeping grandson, he indulged in the satisfaction of seeing his good genes at work in the little one's cherubic face. Around seven, Andre returned home.
After dinner with his son's family, Hansen left, and Mia, with an extra billion on her card, begrudgingly returned to the master bedroom with her son.
Later that night, as the couple leaned against the headboard, Mia reviewed her notebook full of plans.
Andre, peering over, said, "Give me that list, and don't worry about the rest."
But Mia was insistent. "No, I've got this. You're swamped with work and dealing with me. The christening's on me."
Amused by her sudden sense of duty, Andre conceded to some of her plans but insisted on handling others, like the security arrangements.
Mia, feeling a surge of admiration for her capable husband, suggested she might work for him after graduation.
Andre, unable to resist her charm, pinned her beneath him, whispering promises of passion when the time was right, leaving Mia blushing and feigning annoyance at his late-night seductions.
Madison Irvin later pitched in to help her daughter connect with a designer, while Naomi Mastin often swung by Maplewood Estates to lend a hand to her sister-in-law in picking out the perfect invitation designs.
Molly camped out at the hospital, keeping vigil by her mother's side. Even when Coleen was given the green light to be discharged, the family unanimously decided it was best for her to stay put.
The Rose clan and Juliana's family had ceased to disturb Jade's tranquil existence.
The only fly in the ointment was the occasional troublemaker who tried to sour Jade's mood.
But Jade had faced down her fair share of two-faced frenemies and emerged victorious every time, quickly restoring her spirits.
