Chapter 482

The doctor chuckled. "The surgery was a success. No need to worry. The patient will be out in a bit."

A collective sigh of relief filled the room after the doctor's announcement.

Exhausted, Mia leaned into her husband, whispering in a tired voice, "Honey, I'm sleepy, tired, and hungry."

Spotting his wife's tiredness, Andre addressed the crowd, "Now that Coleen's fine, I'm going to take Mia back to the room to rest. She's been too tense today."

The Byrnes quickly agreed, suggesting that Hansen should also return to rest. Indeed, Hansen had been sitting for a long time and was feeling worn out. He followed Andre and Mia back to the room. Leo, on their way out, announced, "I won't be going back. I'll stick around to see if I can lend a hand."

Andre nodded.

Back in the room, Mia laid on the bed with Andre massaging her back. Before long, she drifted off to sleep.

Andre and Hansen exchanged a glance. "Andre, let's do a good deed for Mia."

Andre looked at his wife, who was asleep and peaceful, and tenderly brushed her hair. "I've already made a donation of a billion dollars to charity in Mia's name."

Hansen nodded approvingly. "All we want is for Mia to give birth safely and peacefully."

Andre rubbed Mia's belly and looked back at her. The room was silent, but their concern for Mia was palpable.

When Coleen was wheeled out of the surgery room, her family surrounded her. She was taken back to her room in a daze. Leo helped transfer Coleen from the gurney to the bed.

The family finally calmed down after the hurdle of surgery was crossed.

Around six in the evening, the Cedillo family returned to Mia's room. She was still asleep. The Cedillo's housekeeper had left dinner in the room, untouched.

By the time Mia woke up, it was already eight in the evening. Only Andre was in the room. "Honey, how's Coleen?" Mia asked.

Andre replied, "Molly came to visit while you were asleep. She wanted me to tell you that Coleen is fine and awake."

Relieved, Mia decided to eat her dinner standing up. She was too tired to sit. Andre watched her, amused by her hearty appetite. Later, he joined her, occasionally picking food for her from the tray. After the meal, their baby seemed to be satisfied and began to move around in her belly.

Downstairs, Chad was returning to his shift at work. Kendrick and Molly stayed at the hospital, keeping a vigil.

For the first half of the night, the doctors didn't let Coleen sleep. So, the father-daughter duo sat by Coleen's side, talking to her. Chad called every now and then to check up on them.

By the second half of the night, Coleen was allowed to eat. However, she felt nauseous and kept throwing up. The doctor and nurse were called several times.

Fortunately, by the next day, Coleen's condition had improved.

When Grandma Aubree arrived, Molly was taking a nap at the foot of her mother's bed. She hadn't slept at all last night and had been on edge the entire day. Seeing her mother able to eat again, Molly fell asleep right there. Concerned for her daughter, Coleen suggested, "Honey, let Molly sleep on the couch."

Kendrick went over and gently woke Molly. Startled, Molly asked, "Dad, what's wrong?"

Kendrick replied, "You should sleep on the couch."

"You didn't sleep at all last night either, Dad. You take the couch. I'll take a short nap and then go upstairs to see Mia." After saying that, Molly went back to sleep.

At Havenbrook University, midterm exams were on. Classroom rules were relatively lax.

Leo looked at the extra person beside him. "Anya, what are you doing here?"

Anya whispered to Leo, "I'm here to sigh in for Aunt Molly."

Leo was shocked. "This is an exam!"

Unfazed, Anya said, "Then I'll take the exam for her. She's taking care of Coleen and won't be able to make it. If she misses the exam, she'll lose marks and there's no makeup exam. She might fail the course." "Do you know the answers?" Leo asked.

Anya shook her head, pulled out her own exam paper, and leaned towards Leo. "Little Leo, can I copy your answers?"

Leo looked at the bold first-year student. "Who told you to come her for Molly?" Leo knew Anya was innocent and wouldn't have dared to do this on her own. Someone must have given her this idea. Anya bit her lip, refusing to reveal her "mentor".

Leo threatened her, "If you don't tell me, I won't let you copy my answers."

Anya frowned, clearly unhappy. She turned to the person on her other side. "Can I copy your answers?"

"Sure," the other guy agreed readily.

Upon seeing this, Leo grabbed Anya's ponytail and turned her head towards him. "Come here and copy mine!" he ordered.

Anya grinned.

Leo wrote down his answers, and Anya copied them. Every now and then, she'd sneak a look at Leo. Twice, Leo caught her. "Look at the exam paper, not my face."

Anya nodded. "Okay, I'll look at the paper." She lowered her head, pouting.

Once they finished, Anya looked at Leo admiringly. "Little Leo, you're so smart. You knew all the answers."

Leo smirked, "That's nothing."

Leo handed in their exam papers and took Anya to the hospital to visit Mia.

On the road, Leo directly asked, "So, what else did Aunt Mia tell you besides asking you to take the test for Molly?"

"Hey, Leo, how did you know it was Aunt Mia who told me?" Anya was curious.

Leo said, "There are only two people who could possibly spoil you. One is Molly and the other is Mia. Molly is so busy that she wishes she could clone herself, while Mia is so free. Who do you think it could be?" Anya looked at Leo with admiration. "Wow, Leo, you're really something."

Leo was now the person Anya admired the most. She confessed honestly, "Aunt Mia also told me not to always be so tolerant towards you. When I should be angry, I should give you a piece of my mind. That's the only way you'll value me." "Aunt Mia also said, Leo is an innocent young boy, and I need to learn how to keep you on your toes, instead of always being led by you.

"Aunt Mia also said, if Leo bullies me again, she'll set me up with a boyfriend to stand up to you."

Leo quickly turned the steering wheel.

"Hey, Leo, weren't we going to the hospital to visit Aunt Mia?"

Leo said, "Let your Aunt Mia come pick you up. As of now, Mia and I are at loggerheads."
