Chapter 73 Don't be soft-hearted or make Drake take advantage of it

But it was exactly why Drake became more and more curious about who Sophia really was. Who was she exactly? And why was she so rich? It didn't make sense if her money was from Travis. Drake vaguely felt that Sophia's family background was not that simple.

Paul dared not say a word, afraid that Drake might be angry and punish him.

After a long time, Drake said, "Keep watching her, and tell me immediately if there is any news."

'That's it?'

Drake hung up on the phone.

The curtains in Sophia's apartment were closed and Drake had no idea if she was still standing there or sleeping. He supposed she should be asleep now.

Drake watched until their figures disappeared from the sight.

Bard could tell that Sophia was moved upon knowing that Drake had been waiting for her for a whole night.

Sophia couldn't make up her mind, but he could help her.

Sophia smiled and shook her head.

She was not a cold-blooded person. It was not strange that she should be touched when she saw Drake who had been waiting for her for a whole night. But she had been hurt once and a lesson was enough for her to learn.

As long as Olivia was still a member of the Riley family, Drake and she could never be together.

Chloe came over to her. "Sophia, I've got a dinner invitation from Mr. Jones of the LightSea Corp. Are we going?"

The LightSea Corp and the Skylane Group were trying to reach the cooperation a project lately, and it went smoothly so far. Sophia nodded, "Alright, I'll go." "I'll go with you!"

"That will be great!"

After that, Sophia sent a message to Bard, telling him about the dinner in the evening.

Bard frowned. "Sophia, don't you know it yet?"

"Mr. Jones is known to be a perv. I'm worried he might take advantage of Chloe and you."

Chloe didn't tell Sophia about this, and it seemed Chloe had no idea about it.

"Let me check who it was that introduced Mr. Jones to us."

"Okay. I think something must be off."

Sophia hung up the phone and called Chloe to ask about it.

Chloe had not been in Sealand for a long time. Although she knew some entrepreneurs, she didn't know exactly their character. After Sophia asked, she realized it.

"I'll check it."

"Okay."

Chloe quickly gave Sophia the feedback. She said Mr. Jones was introduced to her by a project manager.

"I want Mr. Jones' information."

"Okay."

Chloe sent the information to Sophia.

At the beginning, Sophia did not notice anything wrong. Mr. Jones seemed pretty normal. Although he might be a playboy, it didn't mean he couldn't be a good partner in business. However...

"Has he met with anyone lately?"

Chloe had strong working ability though she didn't look like that on the outside.

Before long, Chloe sent Sophia a video, "Sophia, it seems you are right. Check this."

After Sophia watched it, a smile appeared on her face. She knew something was off and she was right.

"Are we still going?"

"Of course! Since she has asked for trouble, then don't blame me for showing no mercy."

Chloe smiled. It seemed that she could watch a good show.

Bard kept reminding Sophia to text him if anything happened and saying that he would come to her rescue. Sophia resignedly replied, "Got it."

Bard texted her, "I am strong enough to save you two from a dozen men!"

Sophia felt warm and smiled brightly.

In the evening, Sophia and Chloe arrived at the restaurant and saw Mr. Jones alone here.

Mr. Jones saw the two pretty ladies and his eyes lit up. His face betrayed his desire for them. "Ms. Lawson, Ms. Thomas."

He held out his hands to hold hands with them.

Sophia and Chloe ignored his hands and sat down with smiles on their faces, "Hello, Mr. Jones."

Seeing that he failed to hold hands with the two beauties, Mr. Jones was somewhat disappointed, but he was soon encouraged again. They were here already and there was no way for them to escape "What do you want to eat? It's my treat."

Sophia smiled. "Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Jones."

Holding the menu, they ordered all the expensive dishes here.

Mr. Jones frowned but was then delighted again thinking that he was getting two beauties tonight.

"Do you want some wine, ladies?"

Chloe smiled and said, "Mr. Jones, you are treating us to dinner, in return, we have brought the wine."

Mr. Jones took the bottle of wine over, looked at it carefully for a while, and said in surprise, "Isn't this the famous 'Taste of Diamonds'? A bottle of this costs $1.8 million!"

But Sophia had changed the wine in the bottle with cheap one. She didn't think this guy deserved to have the real 'Taste of Diamonds'.
