Revenge Of The Billionaire Girl -
Chapter 62 Mr. Riley, you know Ms. Lawson very well
Sophia didn't think it mattered.
"We've broken up. The reason doesn't matter. I promise Bard to go home with him after things end here."
"No regret?"
Sophia chuckled. "Why would I? We broke up three years ago. It meant we were destined to lose each other. Let nature take its course."
"All right. Whether you leave or stay, Helena and I will be with you. We are besties forever."
Sophia smiled in satisfaction as she had her parents, brothers, and besties around her.
Olivia's video clip made the netizens stop paying attention to Sophia.
Harris made an appointment with Sophia.
When Sophia and Chloe arrived at the appointed place, Flynn, Bailey, and Drake arrived. They were chitchatting. Once the two girls entered, they stopped and looked at them in unison. Sophia and Chloe greeted them calmly as if nothing had happened among them before.
"Good day, Mr. Riley, Mr. Price, and Mr. Duncan."
"Nice to see you again, Ms. Lawson, Ms. Thomas," Flynn and Bailey replied.
Then they looked at Drake subconsciously.
The latter also greeted the two girls calmly, "Hi, Ms. Lawson, Ms. Thomas."
Since Drake was sitting in the outermost chair, Sophia would sit next to Drake or Bailey.
However, Chloe took the initiative to sit next to Bailey. Sophia glared at her.
Chloe felt wronged. However, she couldn't remark in so many people's presence. Pouting, she replied to her in lip language, "I dare not to sit next to him. Or I'll be killed by you guys' deadly gazes." Sophia had to sit next to Drake.
Flynn bowed his head to chuckle secretly.
Drake kicked him under the table.
Flynn glared at him.
They were seated, but silence blanketed them all.
If no one broke the ice, the atmosphere would be embarrassing.
"I wonder when Harris will come over. He's the organizer," Flynn broke the silence.
Chloe glanced at Sophia. Since the latter didn't speak, she kept silent.
So did others. Flynn felt awkward.
He only wanted to ease the atmosphere but failed.
Fortunately, Harris entered the box. Seeing all of them arrive, he hurriedly explained, "Sorry. When I was leaving, something urgent popped up. Sorry for being late. I'll drink the shots for a penalty later. Have you all ordered?" Flynn chuckled. "Mr. Sutton, how could we order the dishes without your arrival?"
"Please suit yourselves. Waitress! Please give us the menus."
The waitress spread the menus to them.
Harris asked, "Any dietary restrictions?"
"Nah," Sophia answered.
"She doesn't eat spicy food," Drake added.
Others' gazes swept between them.
Harris was taken aback. Sophia explained, "I can eat spicy food."
"Sophia!" Drake frowned. He recalled she couldn't eat anything spicy when they were together. Whenever she tasted something spicy, she nearly failed to catch her breath.
Sophia smiled at him. "Mr. Riley, thank you for remembering that. It was the past. I can eat spicy food now and am fond of it."
Then she looked at Harris, "Mr. Sutton, please go ahead to order. The baked salmon with chopped jalapeno is the chef's special today. We can try it."
Harris could tell she wasn't kidding.
"All right. I'll order it."
Even if Sophia couldn't eat it, she could eat other food. Harris only wished the atmosphere wouldn't be so awkward.
"Any other dietary restrictions?" Harris asked again.
"Not at all," Sophia answered.
"She's not fond of sour food," Drake chimed in.
Others looked at him in silence.
Harris battled a smile. "Haha... Mr. Riley, you know Ms. Lawson well."
Others could feel the air was filled with more awkwardness.
However, none of them was affected.
When Harris made the orders, Sophia added, "Please don't worry about me. I also like sour food."
Drake gazed at her without blinking.
His gaze could make anyone feel uneasy, but Sophia seemed not to feel anything.
Chloe wanted to thumb up to her, but she repressed the urge as Drake was at the table.
After ordering the dishes, Harris started to order some drinks.
He asked the two women at the table gentlemanly. "Would you like some wine? If not, you can order soft drinks or fruit juices." He never forced women to drink.
Sophia answered, "It's alright. We'll work together in the future. This is the first time we have gathered. I can drink some wine."
Chloe didn't object to it. They both had a high tolerance to alcohol.
Harris replied, "All right. I'll order the red wine then."
Before the dishes were served, the waitress filled their goblets with wine.
As the organizer, Harris picked up his glass and said, "It's my great pleasure to work with all the bigwigs in Sealand. I'm new in town. I look forward to our cooperation in the future." Chloe beamed at him and replied, "Mr. Sutton, you've been too modest. We all have seen your great achievements in other cities. It's our pleasure to have you in Sealand this time." All of them were experienced in business and good at socializing.
"Cheers!"
When Sophia drank the wine, she felt Drake's leg approaching her.
She glanced at him in confusion.
However, Drake continued to drink his wine as if nothing had happened.
Sophia quickly moved her leg away.
A ghost of a smile played on Drake's lips.
Although it was hidden behind the goblet, Sophia saw it. She knew that was Drake's guilty pleasure. He always teased her physically under the table during meals when they were together. Sophia stomped at his foot.
Drake groaned in a low voice.
"What's wrong, Drake?" Flynn asked in concern.
"Nothing."
When Drake answered, he stared at Sophia without blinking.
The latter ignored him.
However, others could tell something had happened between them.
As the dishes were served one after another, everyone paid attention to Harris, who had been discussing the project with them.
Sophia picked up the serving spoon when the baked salmon with jalapenos was served.
Before she bit it, Drake approached her ear and whispered, "If you can't eat it, just don't. You don't need to be so stubborn."
'Can't I eat it? How could it be possible? Humph!'
Sophia took a bite and then another. Her expression didn't change at all.
Drake was surprised, and so were Flynn and Bailey. They had seen how intolerant Sophia was to spicy food back then.
It had been three years, but she had changed a lot.
After finishing the salmon on her plate, Sophia remarked, "I love the baked salmon. Yummy!"
