Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 36

"Mr. Robert is coming."

A loud shout echoed throughout the venue, leaving everyone in a momentary daze.

Dave frowned slightly. He didn't invite Robert today. After all, this was the Hartleys's celebration banquet. Why did he come?

But now that he was here, thinking about these things was useless.

Dave immediately stood up and said, "Everyone, follow me to welcome Mr. Byron."

"Of course, of course."

"Let's go together."

In an instant, everyone sitting at the tables stood up and walked towards the entrance.

Dave, with enthusiasm, called out from a distance, "Mr. Byron..."

Robert entered at a leisurely pace and smiled, "Haha, Mr. Hartley, I hope I'm not disturbing you by coming uninvited?"

"Haha, Mr. Byron, it's an honor for my Hartleys that you could come. I'm delighted, and I was worried before about inviting you with your busy schedule."

"Hehe, it's just a coincidence. I happened to pass by and saw the banners outside the restaurant, so I knew your Hartleys was holding a celebration banquet here. I came in to congratulate you."

"Mr. Byron, you're too kind. Please take a seat quickly."

Dave led Robert inside, passing by the entrance...

"Hmm, why is there still a table outside?" Robert asked curiously.

Dave's heart sank, immediately sensing something was wrong. He hurriedly explained, "It's nothing. We had too many friends and relatives coming tonight, and there wasn't enough seating inside, so we added a table here. Mr. Byron, please." At this moment, Adam and his family walked out from inside and sat at the table outside.

Robert's eyes lit up, walking over and saying, "Miss Hartley, nice to see you again."

Katie was momentarily stunned, not understanding why Robert was here. Still, she forced herself to suppress her inner grievances and smiled, "Hello, Mr. Byron."

"Well, hello, everyone. Uh, Miss Hartley, aren't you from the Hartleys? Why are you sitting here?" Robert asked.

Katie darkened her expression but didn't directly explain the reason. Instead, she followed Dave's words and explained again, "There are too many friends and relatives who came tonight, and there wasn't enough seating inside, so..." "Is that so? Then, I won't go inside either. I'll sit here." Robert sat down at the table.

Dave: "..."

Fearful things will happen. That reckless guy, not leaving early or arriving late but choosing this exact moment. Although he hasn't figured out the relationship between Katie and Robert, if Robert insists on sitting outside... Dave couldn't imagine how awkward it would be.

"Mr. Byron, how can you sit here? Please take a seat inside quickly," Dave reminded politely.

Robert waved his hand and said, "No need. I'll sit here with Miss Hartley. I happen to have some new ideas about the resort that I want to discuss with Miss Hartley."

"Mr. Hartley, don't just stand here. Go inside. You don't have enough tables, right? I came to freeload, so sitting outside is just right."

Dave felt helpless, crying and laughing, "Mr. Byron, this..."

"What are you afraid of? I won't go inside. I'll sit here with Miss Hartley. Mr. Hartley, you shouldn't stand here. Go inside quickly. You're the host today, right? You should be sitting at the main table."

Dave's face was embarrassed. He wanted to say, "What main table? Wherever you are, that's the main table," but Adam had just said that, and Matilda and Peter even accused Adam of bragging. Numerous guests had seen it happen. How could he repeat it? If he said it, wouldn't it prove that the useless guy was right?

So, Dave gritted his teeth and said, "Alright, if Mr. Byron wants to sit here, I'll accompany you."

But before he finished speaking, several shadows rushed forward, and the CEOs who were originally standing aside swiftly sat down, fearing they would lose their seats. It was like primary school students scrambling for seats, comical and ridiculous. In the blink of an eye, there were no more seats.

Dave stared with wide eyes, unable to believe it.

This was embarrassing!

Peter and Katie were dumbfounded, as if they had been struck by lightning.

What was going on here?

How was this possible?

"Mr. Byron, I'm Paul Mann, from Inox Group."

"Mr. Byron, I'm Edgar Thatcher, from Goldsand Corp."

"Mr. Byron, I'm..."

All of them greeted Robert with smiles on their faces.

Robert responded with a smile.

"By the way, let me introduce Miss Hartley to you. She is the designated project manager for the resort project."

"Don't be deceived by her beauty; she is a talented woman with outstanding abilities. I believe the resort project will be perfectly executed under her leadership."

These simple words stunned many CEOs.

They had only seen Katie being suppressed by the Hartleys earlier, unable to resist or fight back. They didn't pay much attention to her, thinking she was just a pawn in the family struggle. But now, Robert's attitude...

For those who had reached their level in the business world, none of them were fools, especially when Robert had made it clear.

"Appointed project manager!"

These five words carried significant weight, and many CEOs present were suddenly enlightened.

"Miss Hartley, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Paul Mann, from Inox Group."

"Miss Hartley, nice to meet you..."

Many guests immediately took the initiative to greet Katie.

They wanted to get a share of the resort project, so it was natural to please the project manager.

"Ah, Mr. Mann, nice to meet you. Mr. Thatcher, you too..."

Katie felt like she was dreaming, quickly coming back to her senses from the shock, and politely responded.

Under Robert's introduction, the people at the table quickly became acquainted. Laughter and conversations merged into a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere.

At this moment, it seemed like everyone had forgotten Dave's existence.

Dave's expression was gloomy, and his anger surged. However, he couldn't erupt in front of Robert and could only return inside with resentment.

Next to the "main table," the CEOs who were originally there were nowhere to be seen. Only Dave, Terry, Peter, Matilda, and a few others remained. Compared to the table outside, it was much more miserable, and the atmosphere was even more awkward. Main table?

Except for a better location, how could this be considered the main table?!

Everyone couldn't help but think of what Adam had said just now.

"Grandpa, rest assured, Robert won't be with her 24 hours a day. Don't worry about her current success; I have ways to bring her down. The higher she climbs now, the harder she'll fall tomorrow."

"The higher she climbs now, the harder she will fall later. If she can play tricks, I can do the same! Let's see what she does tomorrow!" said Peter through gritted teeth, sinister light flashing through his eyes.
