Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 198

Leroy stared at Lucas, not understanding what he meant.

Lucas laughed and walked up to the Ferrari.

The door opened, and a pretty girl wearing a white down coat alighted from the car.

Seeing the girl, Leroy's expression changed. Hatred flashed in his eyes.

Shit, what is she doing here?

The girl was Andrew's beloved granddaughter, Clarissa Hamilton.

Clarissa glanced at the people at the scene and said with a smile, "Mr. Carter, this place seems pretty lively. Anyway, apologies for being late, and congratulations on starting a new company."

Last night, Adam told Lucas that someone from the Hamiltons would come to the opening ceremony, so he had prepared his lines beforehand. However, it was Lucas' first time seeing Clarissa, and he was startled by her beauty... for a moment. He soon returned to his senses, and said, "Ms. Hamilton, long time no see. I didn't expect to meet you here."

Clarissa blinked and acted as if they knew each other. "You're starting a new company. It's normal for me to attend your opening ceremony. It's not just me, either. A few friends should be here soon with the gifts they've prepared. Oh, and another thing. Before I left home, my grandfather told me that you're officially invited to join Alameda County's Chamber of Commerce."

All the people at the scene were stunned.

Leroy opened his eyes wide in shock. Did the Hamiltons just invite Dragon Conglomerate to join Alameda County's Chamber of Commerce?

How is this possible? Is there really some tycoon behind this company?

No, that doesn't make any sense. If that were the case, their headquarters would be in the capital and not here in Lisle!

This turn of events was a slap to the face for Leroy, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

Behind him, Jenkins and the rest were also stunned.

The reporters started discussing among themselves animatedly, "Holy shit! And here I thought that the boss of Dragon Conglomerate was an idiot. I feel like a fool now."

"It was worth it to wait here all morning for this news alone. It turns out Dragon Conglomerate has a strong backer!"

Just like the others, Katie was also surprised. She came over because Lucas had invited her, and she meant to congratulate him. She had no intention of inviting Dragon Conglomerate to her new Chamber of Commerce as everyone knew her allies were not doing too well as of late. It surprised her to learn that Dragon Conglomerate would receive an invitation to Alameda County's Chamber of Commerce.

Lucas was calm, however, and not surprised in the slightest. He already knew that he was going to be invited to Alameda County's Chamber of Commerce

"Give my thanks to your grandfather," Lucas said with a smile.

"We're like a family. No need to thank us," Clarissa said.

All the people in the square started brainstorming.

Did she just say that they're like family?

Wait, does this mean that the Hamiltons are behind the incorporation of Dragon Conglomerate?

Hmm, that makes sense. The Camdens took control of Lisle's Chamber of Commerce in order to take down Hartley Group. They spared no efforts while executing their plan and even bought Woodroad Group.

If the Hamiltons want to oppose the Camdens, it is pretty normal that they would also establish a new company in Lisle.

The onlookers reached this conclusion after taking into account all the hints.

As her conversation with Lucas ended, Clarissa walked up to Katie and said, "It's a surprise to see you here."

"Same. I didn't expect to see you here, but it was a nice surprise," Katie said with a smile.

Clarissa smiled and glanced at Adam. Adam turned his head to the side, acting as if he had not noticed her gaze.

At this moment, Lucas turned to look at Leroy and asked calmly, "Mr. Ortiz, not too bruised, I hope? Your ego, I mean." Leroy's expression was unsightly.

Lucas asked again, "Didn't you say that no one would dare to join my opening ceremony without your permission?" Leroy was left speechless.

Lucas did not stop and continued, "And didn't you say that joining your Chamber of Commerce was my only option?" Kiddo, you're going too far!

After asking him these three questions, Lucas shook his head and left, no longer paying any attention to Leroy.

Getting ignored like this made Leroy even madder. He gritted his teeth and growled, "Lucas Carter, don't be too happy. So what if you have the Hamiltons backing you? The Camdens aren't afraid of anyone!" Lucas curled his lips and said disdainfully, "The more you struggle, the worse you'll end up."

"Hmph, even if the person that came over was from the Hamiltons, it's only one person. I don't see anyone else!" Leroy said with a snort.

As the words left Leroy's mouth, several sports cars arrived in the square, with young men and women alighting from them.

Leroy was stunned. He recognized who these people were; they were all heirs of rich families from the capital. Without a doubt, it was Clarissa who had invited these people here.

At this moment, Leroy was even more sure that the Hamiltons were backing Dragon Conglomerate.

After alighting from their cars, those youngsters started directing the two trucks in the rear and helped unload the gifts.

Soon after, a motorcade of luxury cars followed. Big shots alighted from the vehicles, all of them important members of Lisle's local government.

Leroy stood rooted to the spot, his body quivering.

The reporters at the scene took pictures like crazy.

"No wonder no one was here before. These guys are all big shots, and they must've been busy."

"Yeah! Moreover, it's way cooler if you let the big shots make an appearance toward the end."

"This time, Leroy Ortiz has really made a fool out of himself! Haha!"

Leroy's face turned red from embarrassment.

"Mr. Ortiz... What do we do now?" asked Jenkins gingerly.

"Let's get out of here!" snarled Leroy, his head lowered in shame as he took his leave.

The opening ceremony began, and the square livened up.

Lucas greeted the politicians warmly. Now, he was even more curious about Adam's identity.

I'm sure David is possessed. Some powerful being must have taken possession of his body. Yep, that must be it!

Lucas' imagination had started to run wild yet again, and it was not going to stop any time soon.

At 11:20 in the morning, Lucas, Clarissa, and the big shots cheered happily as the red ribbon was cut.

"Henceforth, Dragon Conglomerate is operative!"

Adam's journey to revenge had begun. The war continues, and all those that try to stop me will die!

Dragon Conglomerate's opening ceremony was a success, and the local media companies strived to be the first ones to report the news.

At this time, for one reason or the other, everyone was convinced that Dragon Conglomerate belonged to the Hamiltons.
