Chapter 89

Tanner’s POV

I finally caught that stupid rogue who had been getting onto my packlands. He almost pissed himself when he got caught and then threw Dana and Taylor right under the bus.

He spilled everything and I had him taken to a cell. I mindlinked Jason and asked if the training was still going on and if Dana was there. He said yes to both of my questions, and I told him to escort her, physically if needed, to the cells as she was under arrest at that time.

I was on my way to the cells when my mom started screaming in mindlink that Gabi was taken at the restaurant. Gabi is gone, and I realized that I had played into their hands.

The rogue, on Tuesdays, Dana, tells him how to get on the packlands. I told her that we were on the way now, me and dad, and would be there soon.

And we would be going to Crimson Shadow at that time. Dad and I take off and we are racing to get there, and I want to see the video of what happened.

I called Heath before we even got off my packlands. Heath said that he would get a group up and be on the road in twenty minutes to help and that they would be meeting us at Crimson Shadow. I called Wyatt and when he answered I started yelling at him.

Both he and Luna Everly were in his office, and I told him that Gabi had been taken from the restaurant where they were supposed to meet today. They were totally silent for about 20 seconds and then said that someone had called a female, who said that they canceled the lunch in Quincy today because Gabi was not feeling good and wouldn’t be coming to eat.

I asked them if they had seen Taylor today and they said, “Yes, she had lunch with us”. “Does she normally have lunch with you?” I asked them slowly.

“No, she doesn’t, so this was totally out of the norm for her. We can speak to her if you want”, Wyatt offered.

“No, do not speak, or approach her. She is dangerous and set this up. She was probably the one who called it in. You can check on that and trace the phone of whoever called it into the pack phones. I am going to meet my mom, sister, and brother who went to the restaurant with Gabi.

She went to the bathroom and was taken out of the back. We will be heading to Crimson Shadow after we get a copy of Gabi being taken.

We should be there in about 3 hours. I am leaving now, and Heath will be on his way too”, I told them. I hung up and called Stone.

“Stone, Gabi has been taken from the restaurant in Quincy. Check the audio in Taylor’s room and if you hear her canceling the lunch date, record it, as I need that for when we question her.

I cannot wait for this. I need to find her soon or I will tear Taylor apart”, I told him, and he said he would check the audio he had been recording and get a disc of her making plans together as well, so we could all hear it when we question her.

I was sick, I was absolutely frantic and drove off before I told Jason what I wanted. I mindlinked Peter and brought him up to speed about Gabi being taken. Dana helped the rogue get onto our land, to get me focused on that, and not be there to protect Gabi.

If something happens to her while she is taken, that is all on me and I should have warned her, I should have given her a heads up, but I was so worried about the stress it would give her that I didn’t want to do it. I thought I could protect her. I mean Taylor isn’t smarter than us, she is just more devious than us.

I don’t know how many people we will need on this. I needed more finesse than brute strength on this and I called Derek, even though I didn’t want to.

I would rather eat thumbtacks than ask that pompous little as*s for anything, but I needed a favor and he was their Alpha, so I would have to ask him for help.

“Hello?” I heard from Derek, and then some laughter from I am assuming his new mate, Marie.

“Derek, this is Tanner. I will need your help soon. Can you spare Justin and Anthony for about the next week or so? They can stay in my pack, but we may be at Crimson Shadow for the next day or two figuring this out”, I asked him.

I didn’t want to say it, so I was evasive, as I already knew he would think it was all my fault that Gabi was gone.

“What has happened? Is Gabi OK? I can hear the stress in your voice, how can we help you?” Derek asked and he was serious, he fully wanted to help. So I gave him a quick version of what had happened.

“That f*g bh, she was talking like she was going to be your Luna while she was here. I thought she would give up since Gabi was clearly your mate.

Wait, Gabi was pregnant. Are the babies OK?” Derek asked me and the pain overwhelmed me. It isn’t just my love who is in danger, but my innocent babies as well.

Gabi is four months pregnant, and they took her Derek. I don’t know where she is, and I believe they are going to take our babies from us”, I told Derek and I heard a gasp in the background and soon I heard Marie on the phone.

“We are coming, to Crimson Shadow. Give us a little while to pack up. We will be there in 4 hours. We will bring my brother and Justin with us. The Gamma’s will just have to run it.

“Thank you, I appreciate it and I will owe you one,” I told them.

“You and Gabi got us together, you owe us nothing. We owe you two, and we are glad to help. Stay as calm as you can, Tanner, we will be there soon. We WILL get her back”, Marie told me, and I appreciate them dropping everything and coming.

I have done what I can, playing phone tag. I mindlinked Peter back and he said that the Rogue and Dana were both in the cells and that Dana was crying about her doing it to help Tanner.

Peter is furious as to the fact that Dana had a part in getting the rogue onto our packlands, for both instances. I told him to wait until I was back with Gabi before we doled out the punishments.

We arrived at the restaurant and Gavin had already spoken with the manager and had a disc burned for us to take, but I needed to see it for myself. I watched as Gabi exited the restroom and almost ran into that guy. It seemed like a coincidence.

Maybe if I had warned her, she would have known better than to have turned her back to him. I watched the rag come out and cover her mouth, and I was so proud of her to hit him in the ribs, hard. But then she collapses, and he just picks her up and walks out the back door with her.

Three minutes later, I see Alicia go in to check on Gabi and come flying back out screaming for my mom, who comes to check for herself, and Gavin finally enters to check the restroom with the manager.

I am sick seeing it, and my strength leaves me. We all know Taylor was behind it, and we knew she was talking to a guy named Alex, but how in the hell are we going to actually find him? I don’t even know how we will go about doing that. I need to sit down.

My legs feel like they are going to give out on me. I am so scared for Gabi and my pups. I could not protect them, and I am physically sick about it. What would I do without them? I don’t want to live without them, I stand up and growl loudly.

Dad ushers me into my SUV and puts me in the passenger seat. He knew I would not be able to drive anymore. I am silent all the way to Crimson Shadow, and we are let through immediately with my mom pulling in behind us.

Dad came around to help me out of the SUV and then up the stairs to the packhouse. I feel so heavy, and I cannot focus. I need help in the worst way, as I don’t even know what to do. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about it. I see three SUVs pulling up and it is Heath and Von, the four trainers, Heath’s Gamma Caden

Adams (Taylor’s former mate), and several warriors. Heath immediately came to me and hugged me and told me, “Do not worry, we will get her back.

I know you are in shock now. You leave it to me because I already know how to do this”. I nodded to him and thanked him, and we went to the front door.

Wyatt and Everly answer the door and let us in. Wyatt speaks first, “Stone let us know what has been happening. Taylor knows something is going on, and since she set this up, I am sure she planned for this in some way. We are still going to ask her if you want to sit in on it”.

“Yes, we will, because your baby girl has been buying what she thinks are spells from a dark witch to keep her from being compelled to tell the truth.

She thinks that she can lie and beat us with this, but we have news for her, she didn’t get what she asked for. She will have to tell the truth even if an Alpha doesn’t ask the questions”, Aria told them, and they appeared shocked.

“We need about 15 minutes more, please. Alpha Wells Black is on his way with a few more people, and he also asked for some members of the Werewolf council to meet us here as well. Taylor has done enough, and she will be receiving full punishment for her actions.

Additionally, she sold her sister and your grandbabies. There is a high punishment for these actions, let alone all the rest of the things that have been documented in the last few months.

But we will record the interview. We will alpha command her to tell the truth and I am quite sure she has already drunk the first vial and may have another one on her person when we bring her in to be questioned. I am good with that because it is a spell, one that makes you tell the complete truth.

I need to know where Gabi is right now. I also have a man coming. His name is Gerald Waters. He needs to be allowed in when he arrives. He is going to be the man we need for this, to get our Gabi back quickly”, Heath tells them, and then goes to help me up the stairs.

I am glad that Heath is here, he was made for this and, at this moment, I wish I was more like Heath, at least in this. I know he is just as upset as I am, it is his daughter and grandbabies, but he is cool as a cucumber. I think he is more dangerous like this actually.

He is normally smiling and happy and loving his mate. I have never seen him this serious, even when we were training at Red River. Taylor has fvcked with the wrong person, and I don’t think she will be getting away with anything, as I am pretty sure Alpha Black, who considers her a granddaughter, will be calling for her death today.

I mean he tells the werewolf council what he wants, and it gets done. He has a lot of power, and I don’t think Taylor understands the high level of people that love and care for Gabi. She has royally fvcked up now, but I just want Gabi back, safe and sound. I will kill that as*sh0le who took her with my bare hands. He is a dead man walking, he just doesn’t know it yet.
