Chapter 42

Gabi’s POV

I am really excited about Tanner sleeping with me in my bed. I have never shared my bed before except with my parents when I was young, and I am looking forward to getting several good-night k!sses before I fall asleep tonight.

I heard a knock on the door and danced over to answer it and threw it open before looking out to even see who it was, as I knew it was Tanner. I was wrong. Derek stood in the hallway, in just his pajama p*nts, with his broad chest showing the world his 6 pack.

I stepped back away from Derek, further into my room, to my surprise, he took that as an opportunity to enter our room. tuna Liz was taking a bubble bath and wouldn’t be out for at least 20 more minutes, as she was reading and soaking in a hot tub, taking a nice bubble bath.

To me, it wasn’t enough of an emergency to call Alan, Hudson, or Heath over. I will leave the door open so it wouldn’t look bad, but I am in my cute PJs that I am glad I packed, and it is a coral-colored lace-trimmed cotton camisole, with matching boy shorts.

I was suddenly not comfortable with the way that Derek was now looking at me, and he knew his mom was not there, as I was the only one present in the room. I saw him l!ck his l!ps and continued to stare a hole through my top as I didn’t have a bra on, and I decided to get him the hell out of our room.

“Did you need something? Because your mother is not available right now. You can come back in 10 minutes if you need to speak to her”, I told him and motioned to the hallway for him to leave.

“Oh, I believe it is going to be more like 20 to 30 minutes, at least that is what mom said when I mindlinked her to ask when I could come and tell her good night.

I figured you would be alone, so I dropped by for us to get to talk without interruption Gabi”, Derek tells me and takes another step towards me.

“Derek, you should know now that I am never alone, and I am actually expecting someone, so you can leave. He will not be happy about you being in my room and especially with me being dressed for bed.

You can close the door on your way out, Derek”, I told him, and I turned to go grab my phone from the desk it was sitting on to ask Tanner when he was coming.

I heard the door close as soon as I had the text done and had just hit send when I felt arms snake around my waist and pull me back hard into his chest and, from the lack of tingles, I knew it was Derek.

I grabbed his top hand and twisted his thumb back and sprung free of his grip. I whirled around to face him and said, ” Derek, what in the hell do you think you are doing?

Do not make me call for help, it is going to be really bad for you if I do. I am not that scared little Omega you knew anymore. I am asking you one more time to leave before I call for help. I will not allow you to touch me again”.

“Baby, I know that you are mad at me for rejecting you and I am going to take it back. We can still be together. I made a mistake, and I am sorry for it. I chose wrong, you were made for me, and I didn’t respect the bond between us.

I changed my mind, and you are perfect for me. You are all that I want. I do not want Piper anymore as my mate. I am willing to give up being an Alpha just to be with you Gabi”, Derek tells me, and I am stunned that he would think that is what I wanted. I have a second chance mate now and I will not betray him.

“Derek, you had your chance. You were there when Jack attacked me the second time and kept him from assaulting me. You knew that I finally knew that we were mates right then.

Which meant that you knew it when you turned 18. As my parents had already explained to me how mates work, even if one is older, you still recognize your mate. Instead of claiming me or keeping the others, and especially Heather, from abusing me, you left to go to Alpha Training.

You wd around in the pack, before and after you knew I was your mate. You assaulted me yourself your sophomore year for me telling you “Hi”. You wd around at Alpha Training, but now, NOW!

Out of what the last 20 girls you slept with? You just want me because I accepted your rejection. I was the one that got away and your pride is just hurt. I don’t feel anything towards you anymore Derek, you need to get out of my room, last chance”I told him, and I was furious as he was just standing there watching my chest heaving up and down after I told him off like he is now hypnotized, watching it.

That moron has not heard a word I just said to him and instead, he is proving me right. He just wants to have s*x with me, and that is it. He just physically wants me. He doesn’t love me. I moved past him to the door and threw it open and pointed out into the hallway, “Get Out NOW!”

I told him, in a much louder tone. “Baby, just calm down, we can work this out. I told you l had made a mistake. I admit it, and I want us to move forward from it. Please just give me another chance, Gabi. I love you and I cannot be with Piper’ anymore. She is annoying, she is not you.

I do not desire her at all, I want you, Gabi. I need you”, Derek tells me, and steps towards the door. “Really? Did you really just say that you didn’t want Piper anymore? Well, that is a surprise because I felt the pain of it each and every time that you two slept together. You didn’t seem to be having any difficulty at all then, Derek.

You hurt me daily and NOW you say you don’t want her, you want me. It is too little, and WAY too late, Derek. I do not believe you and your time is up”. I told him and I mindlinked Alan that I needed help ASAP. “Gabi, I have to think of you just to finish with her.

I don’t want her, it is you, it was always you. Dad just told me that I couldn’t have an Omega mate, as she would make me weak. But you are not weak Gabi, you are strong, and I want you, only you. Please, baby, give me one more chance. I made a huge mistake rejecting you, Gabi, and I am so sorry for the pain that I caused you.

I will never hurt you again, just say that you’ll be mine”, Derek pleads with me and reaches out to stroke my cheek. I shook my head no and stepped back further away from him. “I told you no, Derek. That is my answer and that will always be my answer.

We are no longer mates, and I have a second chance mate now. I would not betray him. I waited for my mate as it was the only gift that I could give him. I am with Tanner, and I will NOT be with you.

Please get out of my room right now”, I told Derek. Derek started walking to the door and then suddenly lunged for me and pulled me to him.

His mouth lowered to mine, and he tried to give me a passionate k!ss, but I managed to turn my face away from his a few seconds after his l!ps crashed down on mine.

His hand was cupping my bre*ast through my shirt, and after I moved my face to the side, Derek took the opportunity to start k!ssing his way down my neck. I growled in fury at him and then I stepped down hard on the inside of his foot, and when he relaxed his grip from the first blow, I head-bvtted him and then grabbed his arm that was still on my bre*ast and used it to flip him over my body. wy. Derek lay on the floor looking up at me in surprise, and I was really angry now.

“You as*sh0le, you dared to k!ss me when I told you we would never be together. Get out of my room now. I cannot stand to see your face anymore. You made your choice 3 and a half months ago. I was not part of your “plan”, so go to Piper.

You remember her, right? You wanted her more than me just a few months ago. Get out or I swear to the Goddess, I will take you down again you piece of sh!t”, I growled out to him, and I saw his face suddenly look fearful. Good, I have finally gotten through to him. He needs to listen to what I have

been telling him.

A thunderous growl sounded out behind me, and I realized that it was not me who just put fear into his heart, it was Tanner, who approached Derek like he was stalking his prey.

I saw Alan just now arriving in the doorway of the adjoining room with his shorts on and clinging to him, and he was dripping water everywhere, with soap still in his hair.

I guess he was in the shower when I called him and he came running. Alan enters the room and sees me disheveled, and knows what happened the same as Tanner does.

Tanner is going to kill him, right now in front of me. I knew that he was going to kill him, as a voice I had never heard before came rumbling from his ch3st and Tala was instantly wagging her tail in response.

Rafe is present and he is furious. His deep voice rumbled out,

“You DARE to touch our mate. She is not yours anymore, and you were warned earlier. She is ours and we will not allow another to touch

her or harm her ever again”. I knew that Rafe was going to kill Derek if he phased into his wolf, and I did the only thing I knew to do and

threw myself into his arms as the other adjoining side door was thrown open and Heath and Von entered the room as well.

Rafe calmed down slightly when I threw myself at him, but the second he bent down and sniffed me, I knew Derek was in much more trouble than before as Rafe yelled at Derek, “You k!ssed her? I smell you on her l!ps and down her neck. You dared to touch my mate?”

Rafe thunders out and I am trying to stop him from advancing on Derek, as I don’t want his b***d on my hands. Alan was stepping up and trying to speak with Rafe in a calm tone, with his hands up.

Luna Liz is now out of the bathroom standing there soaked in a towel, watching Rafe, half phased and with his claws out, still advancing on Derek, who is crab-walking towards his mother.

I grabbed Rafe’s face as he was still phasing and held him on both sides of his face and forced him to look at me. I looked deep into his eyes and said, “Baby, please listen to me, he did come to try to talk me back to him. But I told him that I was with you.

He di d try to k!ss me, and I turned my head and so he k!ssed my neck. I will shower so that you can sleep with me tonight. Please do not kill him. He did wrong, but it was just a k!ss, and I took him down and I had already called Alan for backup. He was in the shower and that was why it took him a full minute to get in here. I am all right. I had taken him down myself for his actions.

You don’t have to kill him, believe me, he is punished enough with Piper for a mate. He made his bed, let him lie in it, he would suffer more that way anyhow”, and he gradually calmed down. He went to sniff me again and had to stop because that was not going to calm him down at all, sniffing Derek on me.

“I will go take a shower as soon as everyone leaves Tanner. I will get his scent off of me. You have nothing to worry about. I am yours, and you are mine. I already love you.

You don’t have to kill him, baby”, I told him as I stroked his cheek. Tanner is back in control now, and I rise up on the balls of my feet to give him a k!ss on his jaw, and a tight hug.

Derek took that opportunity to slip out of the room and run down the hallway back to his room, and I am amazed that more people didn’t show up to see what was going on when Tanner roared out like that.

They were probably all scared when they heard it and stayed put. I am glad they didn’t come to see what had happened because it could have turned out very differently.
