Reborn From Oblivion
Chapter 451

"I hope Ford doesn't spill the beans on him later."

Out in the suburbs of the Capital, Nathalie returned from her little farm with some fresh veggies and fruits she had grown herself. Lizzy came dashing over, phone in hand, clearly in a hurry. "Hey, sis, check this out."

Nathalie grabbed the phone, spotting Nathan's post on social media. She let out a laugh, "Since when did he get the hang of social media?"

But then she saw the picture of Nathan looking utterly worn out, and it took her aback.

"Is Nathan really sick?"

Her face was painted with worry.

Lizzy hesitated, "Sis, actually, the boss came back to the Capital a few days ago. He asked me to keep it under wraps for now. He said he's got a tough battle to face and will come see you once it's all over."

Lizzy sounded heartbroken, "Seeing him this ill, it seems like he's going through hell."

"What battle?" Nathalie asked, concerned.

Lizzy replied, "His showdown with the Rowland Corporation..."

Before Lizzy could finish, Nathalie went pale. With her sharp intuition, she quickly grasped the gravity of Nathan's predicament. It wasn't just about a business clash; it was also about wrestling with the guilt of turning his back on family. Sweet Nathan, the weight of his internal struggles must be immense.

"Lizzy, let's pack up. We're heading back to the Capital."

"Okay," Lizzy responded, practically bouncing with eagerness.

The night was as dark as pitch. The car zipped through the blackened streets. Nathalie wished it could go faster, her thoughts completely consumed by Nathan.

Meanwhile, back in the Capital, the

city's socialites, having caught wind of Nathan's illness, transformed into detectives, each tracking down Nathan's address and practically beating down his door.

Ford and Dominick were initially over the moon, "Miss Nathalie must be here. The boss has a shot now."

But after welcoming several waves

of guests and realizing none were Miss Nathalie, their spirits sank, "Miss Nathalie didn't show, and instead, the boss has become a magnet for a bunch of gold-diggers. If he wakes up and discovers our antics, he'll definitely give us an earful."

Just then, Ashley arrived. She was decked out in an exquisite gown, with flawless makeup and sparkling jewelry, practically glowing.

Ford nudged Dominick, "Dominick, check her out. Maybe she's the one the boss is sweet on?"

Dominick nodded, "They do seem like a good match."

Ashley, looking quite worried, came over, "I heard Mr. Cameron's not well?"

"Yeah, but who are you?" Dominick asked cautiously.

Ashley replied, "I'm his fiancée."

Dominick lit up as if he'd found a treasure, whispering to Ford, "It's gotta be her."

So, they ushered Ashley in with all due respect. "Miss, we're not exactly nurses. We'll have to leave the care to you."

Ashley gave a soft smile, "Leave it to me."

Then Ford and Dominick found a convenient excuse to make a quick exit, leaving Ashley to tend to Nathan alone.

As Ashley approached Nathan, even

in his sickly state, his good looks couldn't be hidden. His features were as finely chiseled as ever, almost like a perfect doll, yet with the allure of a mature man, making Ashley, utterly smitten, fall even harder for him.
