Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master -
Chapter 910 There Are Reasons For That
"To be honest, the Moon Fox looks really different,” Rocky said as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Compared with the two guardian beasts of the Heavenly Demon Clan he had seen before, the Moon Fox was extraordinary.
"Actually, you should thank the Moon Fox. If it weren't for it, I would have killed you by now," Alyssa grumbled.
"Then, we are lucky that the Moon Fox is here, or else, you would have to live with regrets for the rest of your life," Rocky answered snappily.
"Humph! If you don't want to help me, I can find another way,” Alyssa responded, trying to save her dignity.
"Didn't you say that the only way to remove the curse on your body is to find the one destined to do this?" Rocky asked shrewdly with one eyebrow arched in criticism.
"That person is not necessarily you. Who knows, maybe you are just a clue. If you are a clue, I will kill you after I make use of you." Alyssa threatened Rocky coldly as if she was a devious woman. "Before that, you have to keep your promise and send me back to the Holy Dragon Empire. By that time, even if you want to kill me, 1 will open the door to welcome you," Rocky teased. Somehow, he had gotten used to her threats, and now, he did not mind them anymore.
"You..." Seeing that Rocky was not afraid of her at all, Alyssa was furious. She wanted to kill him right on the spot, but she couldn't.
While the two of them were bickering, the Moon Fox walked out of the Magic Spiritual Space. Its huge body occupied almost half of the ancient temple, and it was standing on the spiritual mark in the center.
"What is the spiritual mark used for?" asked Rocky curiously.
"It is used to improve the Moon Fox's ability to foresee what will happen. There is a spiritual cave under the temple, and the spiritual mark can gather the spiritual power that can be provided to the Moon Fox. Under your influence, the Moon Fox had made a prediction before, but the prediction was not completed. At that time, a lot of conditions restricted its effectiveness, and we had little time to complete it too. That's why I need to confirm it now. I'm not the owner of the Moon Fox, so I need some assistance before I could command it to make a complete prediction,” Alyssa explained. "I see. What should we do next?" Rocky nodded.
"Just give the Moon Fox one drop of your blood,” Alyssa responded.
Rocky went straight up to the Moon Fox, took out the Frozen Wind Dagger, and pricked one of his fingers until a drop of dark red blood appeared.
The Moon Fox raised its head, staring at Rocky, as he approached it. When it saw the blood that was beading on his finger, it bowed its head and licked the blood away, slurping it like it enjoyed the bloody taste.
"Is that it?" Rocky asked, walking back to Alyssa, who nodded.
After the Moon Fox was fed with a drop of Rocky's blood, its body was enveloped with a red spiritual light that spread around like a halo. It looked ethereal and mesmerizing. At the same time, the spiritual mark on the ground also shone brightly.
"It might take some time," Alyssa said to Rocky, as she sat down cross-legged and waited with her eyes closed.
He shrugged and leaned back against a pillar. He folded his arms and watched the mesmerizing sight of the Moon Fox, as it made a prediction.
"By the way, you haven't told me whether the treasure map is with you or not!" Alyssa suddenly asked after a long silence.
"I've already burned it," replied Rocky.
"You burned it? You must be lying..." Alyssa stared at him with her eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"I don't care if you believe me or not. In the beginning, I wanted to keep it, but I knew that I don't have the ability to search for the treasures, so I chose to burn it,” explained Rocky seriously.
Alyssa was half-convinced, as it seemed to her that he was telling the truth. She knew him well by now, so she didn't think he could burn the treasure map and pass up all the adventures that came with it. But the problem was, she couldn't force him to take it out if he didn't want to show it. So, after thinking for a while, she planned to ask him again later. Anyway, he could not escape her, as they were stuck together for a while.
"Actually, there is one thing that I don't understand,” Alyssa said after a moment of hesitation
"And that is?" Rocky asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Why did you hide your identity as a prince and join the Crimson Dragon Group? Is there an unspeakable reason? How could the prince of the Holy Dragon Empire go to such a dangerous place as the Gehenna Border? Also, in the beginning, you stayed in a small military camp, which was very strange. Even if you wanted to cultivate, you were supposed to go to the places where there was almost no war," Alyssa asked directly. She had been thinking about this matter since she found out about it, as she thought that it was unusual for a prince to go to the Gehenna Border. Undoubtedly, there was a reason for all these things, and they were all top-secret.
"Yes, there are reasons for that," Rocky said as he nodded his head subconsciously. He didn't expect that she would ask him about it.
"If you're willing to talk about it, I don't mind listening,” Alyssa said arrogantly although she was very curious about it.
"There is nothing special about it, so I would rather not talk about it." Rocky didn't want to bring up the past now, as he was the kind of person that was always looking ahead to the future.
"You are so stingy!" Alyssa complained and then asked, "Did you really marry Isis out of love?" "When have you become such a gossip?" Rocky raised his eyebrows. He didn't expect that Alyssa would ask such personal questions. After all, she was not the kind of person who was curious about other people's private affairs.
"I'm just asking. I think it's a waste that a talented girl like Isis married you," Alyssa said in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah, it's not fair to her.” Rocky felt a little sad. After all, his marriage with Isis was entirely based on interests, and she deserved much more than that.
Seeing this reaction, Alyssa suddenly felt hesitant. She could tell that he seemed to be blaming himself about something, and it looked like their train of conversation had unearthed a can of worms.
