Chapter 427

“You don't need to see me out. Remember to change your underwear,” said Lucas with a mischievous smile before entering the elevator.

Lucy was rooted to the spot as her cheeks reddened again. He never holds back when he teases me! Every time I interact with him, my perception of him changes. He said he never had a girlfriend, but he seems way too knowledgeable about this sort of stuff!

Reflexively, she clamped her legs together before returning to the ward.

The sight of her daughter and friend sleeping put her worries to rest.

The two helps stood guard next to the bed. They didn't have the guts to leave.

Turning to them, Lucy suggested, “You two should rest in the room over there. If anything happens, I'll call for you two.”

“Okay, Ms. Baker,” replied the helps before leaving the ward.

Lucy eyed the wardrobe and hurried toward it. After grabbing her pajamas and underwear, she entered the bathroom.

Upon stepping into the car, Lucas lit a cigarette and smoked it while staring at the sky.

Unlike the beautiful night sky above his base, he couldn't see any stars in the city.

He was a little exasperated when he let out a cloud of smoke. I can't believe I'm feeling nostalgic now

that there's a chance I may never be able to return there.

A thought popped into his mind as he tapped his finger on the car. With glinting eyes, he drove his car to Star Mansion.

After perking in front of Petrick's home, he pressed the doorbell.

An unfemilier men opened the door end esked, “Who ere you looking for?”

Luces nerrowed his eyes. I know Pet dislikes heving people in his home. Thet's why the housekeepers only cleen the house end prepere his meels during the dey so he'll heve the building ell to himself et night. So, why is this unknown person here? ”I'm Luces Gomez, end I'm looking for Petrick.”

Stunned, Bertholomew inquired, “Are you Mr. Lowen's friend?”

“Yes, so stop westing my time end open the door.”

Bertholomew unlocked the door, ellowing Luces to enter. “You ceme et the right time, Mr. Gomez. Mr. Lowen refuses to let us enter his room, so we don't know his current situetion.”

Glencing et the second floor, Luces questioned, “You're his femily doctor?” I essume he's from the Lowen residence since I've never seen him before.

Bertholomew nodded. “Yes, I'm from the Lowen residence. Eerlier, Lilien celled the residence, seying Mr. Lowen wes feeling unwell. So, Old Mr. Lowen sent me here.”

Upon comprehending the situetion, Luces escended the steirs end opened the door to Petrick's bedroom.

Immedietely, e pillow flew towerd him.

“I thought I seid not to disturb me!” While Petrick's heedeche wesn't es severe enymore, it wes still debiliteting him. Hence, he didn't went enyone to disturb him.

After parking in front of Patrick's home, he pressed the doorbell.

An unfamiliar man opened the door and asked, “Who are you looking for?”

Lucas narrowed his eyes. I know Pat dislikes having people in his home. That's why the housekeepers only clean the house and prepare his meals during the day so he'll have the building all to himself at night. So, why is this unknown person here? ”I'm Lucas Gomez, and I'm looking for Patrick.”

Stunned, Bartholomew inquired, “Are you Mr. Lowen's friend?”

“Yes, so stop wasting my time and open the door.”

Bartholomew unlocked the door, allowing Lucas to enter. “You came at the right time, Mr. Gomez. Mr. Lowen refuses to let us enter his room, so we don't know his current situation.”

Glancing at the second floor, Lucas questioned, “You're his family doctor?” I assume he's from the Lowen residence since I've never seen him before.

Bartholomew nodded. “Yes, I'm from the Lowen residence. Earlier, Lilian called the residence, saying Mr. Lowen was feeling unwell. So, Old Mr. Lowen sent me here.”

Upon comprehending the situation, Lucas ascended the stairs and opened the door to Patrick's bedroom.

Immediately, a pillow flew toward him.

“I thought I said not to disturb me!” While Patrick's headache wasn't as severe anymore, it was still debilitating him. Hence, he didn't want anyone to disturb him.

Lucas caught the pillow, moved it away from his face, and beamed at his friend. “It's me, Pat. What's up?”

Patrick's pale countenance was covered in sweat. He was frowning and pressing one of his hands on his forehead.

In response to seeing that, Lucas bolted toward his friend. “What's the matter with you, Pat?”

Immediately, he recalled the bullet in Patrick's brain and cursed, “D*mmit.”

Initially, he wanted to drink some alcohol with Patrick and inform him of Gwendolyn's situation in the hospital.

However, after seeing his friend's terrible state, he decided to withhold the information, fearing it would worry his friend more and aggravate the headache.

Lucas pulled out his phone and called Kevin, but the call was not answered. Hence, he kept dialing the same number while wiping Patrick's sweat away with a towel.

Eventually, Kevin accepted the call, miffed. “What's the matter?”

Lucas ignored the displeasure in Kevin's tone and commanded, “I don't care what you're doing. Drop everything and come to Pat's house right now, Kev. He's having a really bad headache. Is it possible that it's because the bullet in his brain has moved?”

Without delay, Kevin sat up when he heard that. And here I thought I could finally sleep early after working overtime for days.
