One Girl Two Mates
Chapter 10

The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. Since I wasn't mated and marked to Diego I couldn't mind link him or anyone. I was still linked with Ethan's pack and he's too far. I kept my breathing under control, trying not to alert the rogue that I knew of its presence. I wasn't a fighter or a warrior. In Midnight Moon pack it was mandatory that all wolves train after their first shift. Unfortunately I was brought directly here. So far I've only shifted once, my next few shifts won't be as quick as a seasoned shifter. The rogue could attack in the middle of a shift and kill me instantly. I breathed in and out wishing that I could somehow reach Diego for help. I felt a weird sensation, it was a tingling in the back of my mind. I focused harder, thinking of Diego until my whole brain tingled. Then I felt it, the presence of Diego, but in my mind.

'Diego?' I called out mentally.

'Mi amor, how are you in my head?' He replied with shock.

'I-I don't know, but I'm sitting next to an oak tree and there's a rogue behind me.' I felt tears slip down my cheeks.

'I'm coming for you, don't move a muscle.' I sighed in relief, knowing that he was coming for me. My heightened senses let me know the rogue was coming closer. I squeezed my eyes shut, breathing slowly. I felt those strange tingles again, but they were at my feet. As I continued my breathing the tingles traveled up my body until they fully engulfed me. My body felt like it was on a low vibration. I heard the rogue dangerously close this time. It sniffed the air as it stalked towards me. I opened my eyes, shocked to see it in the shadows right next to me. It was looking around, like it was searching. Is it ignoring me? Was I not the target? Before I could think any more a giant black wolf pounced on it. Snapping and snarling they rolled around in a mess of fur. Diego had the wolf pinned on its back, snapping at the rogue's stomach. A second rogue came out of nowhere and pounced on Diego, tearing into his shoulder. A scream left my lips as I shifted out of instinct. The second rogue looked towards my direction, but its eyes didn't focus on me. It gave Diego the upper hand, he lunged at the rogue, tearing into its back. The first rogue jumped onto Diego, biting into his already injured shoulder. I charged at the rogue that was biting my mate, sinking my teeth into the back of its neck. It let out a howl and shook out of my hold. The rogue stood before me, but same as the other one its eyes couldn't focus on me. I used it at my advantage, jumping for its throat and ripping it out. Just as I stepped back from my kill I saw that the second rogue was about to tear into my mates throat. A menacing growl ripped through me as I pounced, ripping and tearing into its flesh. We rolled around, struggling slightly, but I eventually ripped its neck out too. Spitting and hacking to get the foul taste from my mouth. "Liliana? Baby where are you?" Diego called weakly from the forest floor after shifting into his human form.

"I'm here, I'm here!" I called after I shifted back, rushing towards him. The vibrating left my body as I kneeled at his side. A cold sweat broke out across his skin, his normally radiant skin was sickly pale. His shoulder was torn and popped out of socket. Tears streamed down my face as I felt his pain and my own.

"SOMEONE HELP!" I screamed behind me.

"Liliana..." Diego mumbled as he slipped in and out of consciousness.

"No, baby, stay with me." I gently placed my hand on his cheek and upper arm. I felt the tingles from earlier, but this time in my hands. I gasped as his shoulder popped back into the socket on its own. His wounds started to stitch themselves back together. His cold sweat was slowly disappearing and his color was coming back. I heard footsteps thudding towards us, I sighed in relief as I saw warriors surround us.

"Lili!" I heard Valentina gasp as she reached for me. I threw my arms around her as I sobbed.

"Get the Alpha to the pack hospital and somebody give me their shirt." She snapped as a frenzy broke out around us. A shirt was quickly thrown over my still naked body that I realized was drenched in body. I probably look like Carrie. I watched as warriors placed Diego on a weird board and carried him away. I jumped up trying to follow them.

"Lili wait, you need to shower." Valentina tried to pull me back.

"I need Diego." I snarled as I looked into her eyes, my voice came out deep and threatening. I watched in brief shock as her eyes turned black. She dropped my arm and stepped back. I took the opportunity to sprint for the pack hospital that wasn't too far away thank god. I busted through the doors of the small hospital.

"Where is he?" I asked the woman at the front desk. Her eyes did the same as Valentina's. The woman pointed to the third door on the left. I took no time to ponder on the weird things happening around me, I needed to see him. As I threw his door open I watched as an older man in a white coat was leaning over Diego, inspecting his wounds. His head looked up, his eyes met mine.

"Are you the one that healed him?" DIEGO POV

I woke to the sound of beeping, the smell of roses and fresh mint invaded my senses. I peeled my eyes open, looking to my side was my beautiful mate crawled up in bed beside me. Taking in my surroundings I realized I was in a hospital room. My mind replayed the events that caused me to be in this bed. Lili somehow spoke to me in my mind, telling me about the rogue. When I showed up she was gone, but I had to terminate the rogues. Then one of them took me down, almost ripping my arm off. Then they were being ripped apart, but I couldn't see who. Did Eric, my Beta, show up? I doubt it since he's been away with his mate to help her heat. I knew Ryan was still gone somewhere working on research. It could've been Valentina, but the way those rogues were torn apart was insane. I felt Lili stir beside me, her head tilting up and her beautiful green eyes met mine.

"You're awake." She closed her eyes briefly, letting out a sigh of relief.

"What happened, Lili?" I asked hoarsely.

"Rogue almost killed you and something came over me, I just acted on instinct." She bit into her bottom lip.

"What are you talking about, baby?" I shifted slightly, expecting pain, but surprised when I felt none. I moved the gown down and gasped, my wound was almost completely healed. Wolves have fast healing, but not this fast.

"I killed them." I shot up, staring down at her.

"I'm sorry, what?"

"I-I killed the rogues, please don't be mad." She looked down, playing with her hands to avoid my gaze. My head was reeling, my tiny little mate took down two full grown wolves?

"How?"

"I don't know, this weird feeling came over me, like my body was vibrating or humming. I guess humming is the right word." She looked away pondering the thought.

"Baby, please tell me what the hell happened." I asked as I gripped her shoulder slightly.

"I had the weird humming feeling and it forced me to shift. When I shifted I fought them, but the weirdest thing happened. It was like they couldn't see me somehow or their eyes just couldn't focus on me." I stared at her blankly. "Then I somehow healed you, oh and uh, I don't know how, but I forced Valentina and a nurse to do what I said." I just sat, silently staring at her, trying to process everything she was telling me.

"Are you mad?" Her eyes held fear, my heart melted.

"Of course not, mi amor, just shocked." She let out a sigh as she snuggled into my arms.

"I think these are your powers it was telling us about." I said as I stroked her head.

"Or maybe it was just luck." She shrugged in my hold.

KANE POV

I gripped the pathetic rogue by its throat.

"How hard is it to kidnap some weak b***h?" I snarled in his face.

"T-there was someone else there." He stuttered like a fool.

"Who?" I demanded.

"I don't know." Anger flared within me.

"Bring in his mate." I watched fear flash in his eyes.

"NO! PLEASE!" He shouted, but it was no use. Two of my rogue warriors brought in a mousy little redhead. She whimpered as they tossed her to the floor in front of them. She was covered in filth and grime, her pale blue eyes looked up at me, pleading. I released my hold on his throat, letting him fall back into the chair he was chained to. I circled the little redhead like a lion circles its prey. I quickly reached out, gripping her hair and wrapping it around my wrist. I yanked her up to her feet causing her to squeal in pain. "PLEASE STOP! DON'T HURT HER!" He begged as he sobbed, snot and tears dripping down his face, how pathetic.

"Tell me who it was." I growled as I held the little b***h closer.

"I don't know." I rolled my eyes, growing bored. I pulled out my silver blade and held it to her throat. The man screamed and I faintly smelled urine in the air, disgusting.

"Tell me and I won't skin her alive." I smirked down at her, she trembled in my hold, her eyes were glued to him.

"I couldn't see them! They were invisible or something." I chuckled at his ridiculous words.

"Kill him." I nodded to one of my warriors.

"NO! PLEASE!" The little b***h sobbed as my warrior put two bullets in her mate's head. She let out an ear piercing scream, the mate bond being severed tearing her apart. For a brief moment I lost myself, my own grief resurfacing and threatening to spill out. I quickly snapped out of it, I pulled the redhead close to my face, licking her tears. She didn't move, the pain making her numb.

"You'll make a fine new play thing." I smiled at the thought of how I'll defile her.
