Chapter 93: Explosion

Freya POV

I took a deep breath in as I looked at myself in the mirror at my reflection. Wearing my bridal dress, I was looking stunning and I was sure Drexel would keep his eyes fixated on the center of the dress. My neckline plunged to the navel

"You look beautiful!" said my mother who helped me wear it and do my makeup

"Thank you, Mother," I replied dryly. "Ts everything in place?" I asked

She nodded as she looked at my reflection 1n the murror. She picked up the bouquet of white roses from the side and gave it to me. "Freya, whatever you are doing, be careful, okay?" she said, her tone sadder than most of the days "I will be," I replied and turned to leave. She dropped the veil on my face and smiled

As soon as I stepped out of the house, I looked at Kiev and gave him one tight nod. Our eyes locked and he gave me a knowing nod

Drexel's warriors were there to escort me in the sedan to the temple of the Moon Goddess where we were supposed to get married

I sat in the passenger seat and was surprised to

note that it was Eric on the wheels who was escorting me to the temple. Another warrior sat on the seat beside him wile Kiev sat beside me

As we neared the temple, I placed my hand on Kiev's forearm. He dug his phone out of his black suit very quietly. Once it was in his hands, he dialed a number and disconnected after a ring

The Alphas that I had asked were ready for the task I had given them. Their loyalty to me hadn't come easily. All of them wanted more money for what they were doing. After their task, they would leave the Moonstone Pack very quietly. I was sure that the Alphas had come themselves to see the destruction that they would carry out in the Moonstone pack. They were all burning with vengeance and so was I. They say that

friend of you enemy is your friend. That's what we were. Friends, because we had a common enemy

We were five minutes to the temple when I heard a blaring explosion. I shrieked and covered my ears. Kiev wrapped his arm on my shoulders and pulled me closer "What is going on?" I asked

"I don't know!" Eric replied, his grip tightening on the wheels. He called his men on the phone and shouted orders at them to see what was going on

We arrived at the Moon Goddess temple and I was trembling. Rose petals were strewn across

the stairs that led to the sanctum where the ceremony would be held. All the Alphas under Drexel had gathered with their Lunas. They looked at me with a smile and bowed to me

Good. They were all going to die soon. The main reason why I had asked them to gather for my marriage was because I needed to kill all of them. In one go

Climbing up the stairs, we walked through the breezeway and then to the main sanctum. I saw Drexel standing over there on the dais with the Shaman. His Beta, Leo was standing on the floor beside him, his sharp amber eyes piercing me

Suddenly, another explosion went by and I shrieked again. "It's fine..." Kiev said and gripped my hand harder. From the corner of my

vision, I saw my mother standing at the end of the breezeway. As soon as our eyes met, she gave me a knowing look and then turned away to leave

Drexel stared at me as I composed myself and started to walk towards him. I pressed Kiev's hand again and he dialed another number on the phone in his hand secretly, while I walked towards Drexel, a smirk forming on my face

Yet another explosion was heard. This time, I didn't flinch or shriek. A soft laugh escaped my lips. This was the destruction I was talking about. I heard loud screams outside the temple and my smile turned into a full-blown laugh. I was just a few steps away from Drexel when he extended his hand towards me

"Look around you, Drexel," I said, crossing my arms across my chest. "All your people are dead and you still want to marry me? You are so pitiable. The Alphas and Lunas under you "I pointed at him, "-are mostly dead or crying and yet you are standing here to marry me?" I fluttered my eyelashes and said smugly, "I have to say that I am really worth it."

"Lam sorry, but what destruction are you talking about?" he asked, tilting his head

I let out an exhale as I giggled at him. "Really Drexel? Didn't you hear those explosions?"

I heard Beta Leo snarling at me. Eric and a few gamma warriors were behind me and I also smelled Boris

"Those?" Drexel said. "Those were the firecrackers."

I scoffed, "No Drexel. That was the sound of your destruction."

He narrowed his eyes on me. "What do you mean?" he asked, sounding suspicious

God, this was the moment I was waiting for. I heard loud grunts and snarls and thwacks as if people had been killed. I knew that a war had waged outside amongst the Alphas who were against Drexel and those who remained after the explosion. "I mean what I say," I replied. Kiev came to stand behind me, a victory smile on his lips

"We did it, Freya!" he chuckled

I glared at Drexel. "Your Moonstone Pack is under attack. In no time, my people will come inside and then you will be gone."

Leo charged at me, but Drexel stopped him

"L was planning on destroying you and your rule for a long time and what better present could I give you on our beautiful wedding day, other than this?" I said waving my hand in the air

"The hotels where the Alphas stayed were blasted. By my men. Outside the temple, explosions took place under my direction. And all the while you couldn't even come to know

What a fool you are!"
