Chapter 51: Resuscitated

Drexel POV

When I woke up in the morning, I found my bed empty. I sniffed her all the way to Leo's office

And that was strike one for Leo

I rushed to her, pulling on some random pajamas. I should have gone naked to his office to show who she belonged to. I wasn't ready for what she was doing with me in his office. She had exposed her neck. My wolf was raging inside me to mark her at that very moment. I was having a tough time controlling him and here she was exposing both side of her neck. I knew the game she was playing when she tilted her

neck towards me. Was she testing me? Because if she was, she was freaking winning it

Eventually, my wolf calmed only when I saw those plump rosy lips wrapped around my cock

After she made me come in Leo's office, she just... walked away and I didn't like it at all. I wanted her to stay with me and calm my nerves

I went back to the apartment, sure that she would return soon after, but she didn't

Somehow, I managed to get dressed as fast as possible and followed her delicious scent all the way to the market. I saw her in a cheap shop that was so below my standard that I contemplated on going inside it or not

I owned half the businesses in my pack and was the richest wolf here. Freya used to buy clothes for me and that too only expensive designer

brands. So when Patsy said that Freya had visited her, it was quite a surprise for me. I made sure that Kimberley and Patsy were busy as I sat next to her. I needed to touch her because if I didn't, my wolf was getting restless

I drew lazy circles on her back as I used my authority over Patsy to cater to me first

She exited the shop and I wanted to follow her but that would have looked like I was stalking her. I was stalking her but if I had gone after her again, she would have freaked out. So, I went back to the packhouse and waited for her to return. I became impatient by the evening and realized that it was almost 10PM and she still hadn't returned

I opened my mind link with my Beta to tell him to find her immediately. When he said that she

was at his house, it was strike two. For Leo. My wolf wanted to challenge him for a fight and I was sure it was going to be a bloodbath

Angered as hell, I shifted into my wolf and ran to Leo's house. My unclaimed, unmarked mate was with two men who were unmated. I saw

red. And Leo and Eric were bathed in crimson

She glared at me while I was holding her and then the next, I knew was that she slapped me right across my face. My chest rumbled with a ferocious growl as I stopped and processed what Just happened. Penelope jerked her hands away and ran outside towards the lake

"Penelope!" I shouted. Others just stood there and watched the two of us, frozen in their spots

Well, I didn't care. "Penelope!" I yelled, but the girl ran way too fast. Before I could grab her back, she jumped in the lake. "Penelope!" I shouted, this time with horror lacing my voice. I jumped in the lake after her

I swam around to look for her, but she was

nowhere. My heart couldn't stop beating as I panicked for the second time this bad in my life

I hadn't panicked like this when I killed my father either. But I panicked when my mother died. My worst nightmares were coming to life all over again. I shouted her name. "Penelope!" But there was no response

I dived inside the dark waters of the lake. My vision was way too enhanced as I had Alpha blood in me. It was easy for me to look inside the dark depths of the water. I located her going down towards the bottom. Dread blasted in my chest and I swam as fast as possible towards her

Within a few seconds, I reached next to her. I grabbed her by the waist and swam back to the surface

She was unconscious. Her pulse was weak. I pumped her chest when Kimberley rushed to her

side. "You will break her ribs!" she shouted. I

looked up at her, my mind going numb

"Fix her," I mumbled

Kimberley, Leo and Eric sat beside her and they flipped her on belly. While Kimberley pumped water out of her lungs, I resuscitated her

Fragile, fragile humans. I cursed the Moon Goddess for giving me a mate like her. She was such a delicate piece

When Penelope coughed the water out and her eyes opened, I grabbed her up in my arms and hugged her tightly, thanking the Goddess for saving my mate. I avoided all the glares on me when I picked her up and took her inside. I walked straight into Leo's bedroom and closed

Penelope was just in as much shock as I was in because she was only crying and shivering while I was still trying to process what happened. I slid her down my body and removed her wet clothes. Then I made her wear a dry crew-neck t-shirt. "Lie down," I said in a low voice. I was expecting her to rebel, but she lied on the bed and I covered her with a thick duvet

Once I saw that she was resting, I tossed my clothes out, and went to fire the logs in the hearth
