Chapter 38: Use You as His Breeder

Penelope POV

My blood drained. I stared at the gamma who said that there was an enemy on the ground. I looked at Kimberley, who was looking like she had seen a ghost. Alpha Steven was her mate? The information was like a blow to my mind and I didn't know what to do. I had heard that a mate bond was the most revered bond amongst the werewolves

I had to grab Kimberley's hand in order to stop her from shaking. It seemed like she was about to faint

"What is wrong with you Kimberley?" said the gamma in front of you. "You look like you've seen a ghost!" He narrowed his eyes. "Or is it that you have met with the enemy?"

Kimberley further paled. She swallowed thickly and in a shaky voice said, "You must be fucking mad, Freddy! If I had seen the enemy, do you think that I would have been here? I would have chased it!"

Her reply seemed to mollify Freddy's doubts

"Well then! We have orders from the Alpha to take Penelope back to his apartment. If you want, you can come with us to find him."

I squeezed Kimberley's hand as if to assure her that everything is going to be fine, but I knew

that she was petrified. It was written all over her face. "I will be fine," she leaned over my ear and whispered. "Go to the apartment and stay in, okay?"

I parted my lips as a ragged breath left me. The way she spoke with me it was as if she was saying her last goodbyes. So I said, "See you

soon!"

She nodded lightly as a sad smile appeared on her face. Something in my chest squeezed so hard for her that I immediately hugged her tightly. I pulled back reluctantly and walked with the four gamma warriors back to the apartment. I twisted my head behind to see Kimberley. She was running towards the woods, away from the cabin which was surprising. I didn't know what she had in mind

Another thing that was surprising was why had Drexel sent four of his gamma warriors to protect me. That was... odd

When I reached the elevator, I saw Kiev standing in the lobby, waiting for an elevator to come down. The moment he saw me, he growled, his demeanor turning dangerous. But he didn't dare to come near me because of the gamma warriors, who growled back at him

Now this was again very strange

The elevator door opened with a chime. Even though Kiev was standing there before us, the

gammas only glared at him as a warning to stay back

"Please step in, Penelope," said Freddy

As soon as I stepped in, the four gammas stepped in after me and I saw Kiev with clenched fists and jaws

I really didn't want to go to the apartment because I knew that Freya would be there. So when the elevator door opened, I walked towards the staircase that led to my old attic room, but the gammas stopped me

"The Alpha has asked us strictly to take you to his apartment," Freddy said firmly

Gritting my teeth, I just walked to the apartment and punched the code. I pressed the handle and to my shock I saw a knife coming in my direction. I shrieked and ducked. The knife flung straight out and lodged itself on the opposite wooden panel

The gammas swung into action. They put me behind them and entered the room with their lips peeling back

Gods. They had such sharp canines, but Drexel's canines were sharper and longer

The gammas halted instantly and bowed their head. "Luna Freya!"

I peeked my head from the side and found Freya coming out of a door with another knife in her hand. She cocked her eyebrow and said, "I was afraid that the enemy had entered here," while staring at me

"Sorry to bother you," said Freddy. "The Alpha has asked us to protect the human girl."

Freya set the knife on the nearest table. When she looked back at them, I could see a hint of jealousy on her face, but it flickered for a second and then it was gone

"You all can wait outside. I am in here with her," she said coldly

The gammas bowed to her again and stepped out of the apartment. They closed the door and I hoped that they were standing out. I didn't like Freya's attitude and I was sure that she was lying. If the werewolves had a great sense of smell, how come she didn't smell me?

I went to sit on a couch very far away from her, not liking her presence. She was giving me strange vibes, something I couldn't point at. And her cold demeanor was appalling

If you're loving the book, nel5s.org is where the adventure continues. Join us for the complete experience all for free. The next chapter is eagerly waiting for you! She poured a glass of orange juice for herself in the kitchen and sauntered over to my side

Leaning on the door of the balcony, she said, "It looks like you are enjoying yourself a lot out here. I hope you know what your position 1s as compared to me."

I gasped

"Don't look so surprised," she said and sipped her juice while looking at me over the rim of the glass. "It was me who suggested Drexel to sleep with you in my absence. After all, you were

bought for a huge price of two million dollars and that too from an auction house. There has to be some use of yours." She sauntered over to me as I tried to collect my wits

My lips trembled and tears burned at the back of my eyes, but I blinked them away because I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing me miserable

As she rounded the center table and came to sit on the sofa opposite to me, she continued pouring acid, "It was me who suggested Drexel

to use you as his breeder."

My mouth fell to the floor

She shrugged. "You see it is common for the

Alphas to have a mistress. While I will be his Luna, you can give birth to his heirs. I wouldn't mind." She chuckled

She made me feel like a slut, which I never wanted to be. I had to give her back. "Freya-"
