My Substitute CEO Bride -
Chapter 2080
The demon sword trembled violently, and the president of the Shadow Warriors lost his powers as well.
Just then, the Crow statue collapsed.
Alfius brought his sword down, and the president did not get back to his feet this time after falling to the ground. He no longer showed any signs of life.
Things did not look all that great for Alfius either.
That last strike had used up all the energy he had left.
He did not even have the strength to speak now.
As he watched the president of the Shadow Warriors collapse to the ground before him, he heaved a sigh of relief.
He had been forcing himself to hang on by his very last thread to make it all the way here.
Now, he could finally rest.
"Alfius... Alfius!" Mosley's voice stopped Alfius from closing his eyes.
He turned to look at Mosley, who was running over while holding Ply, who had passed out because of the explosion, in his arms. He no longer had the strength to answer him. Wait... What was he saying?
The ringing in Alfius' ears decreased slightly, and he was starting to regain some hearing.
"Afius! Quick... run! Run!"
In an instant, the demon sword suddenly began making frenzied slashes.
It opened one eye, which had an evil-looking glint in it. Then, it slammed itself against the ground. At the same time, the area in which its slashes struck kept widening until the entire city turned into flat land. Finally, the demon sword stopped attacking.
It turned and flew far away.
The fog dissipated, and the town of the Shadow Warriors had turned into ruins.
...
Two days later, news regarding the collapse of the Shadow Warriors and the Twilight Sect spread across the world.
Everybody assumed it was the result of them fighting each other.
However, the state capital did not offer any explanation.
The state capital had been a puppet for both these parties previously and was finally able to make independent decisions. Thus, the Land of Nion made an announcement.
From that day onward,
organizations or institutions related
to cultivators or martial artists
would not be allowed to exist within the country's premises.
The losses that both parties caused would be written off. In that regard, the Land of Nion would...
As everyone was watching the state
capital representative speak on stage, the president of the
Illuminion, who was sitting in the audience, smiled a sinister smile. en FindNovel
He put his cap on and left the press conference.
Then, he arrived at an underground, nondescript-looking bar.
"Looks like you've succeeded again," the bartender whispered.
"This is merely the beginning. As long as we aren't as vocal as we were in Yerusia, it'll be difficult for them to suspect us again."
"You're very intelligent," the bartender said respectfully.
The president took off his cap, revealing his snow-white hair.
He made to leave after finishing a drink.
"Are you leaving now?" the bartender asked.
"Yes. I'll be in touch if need be. Goodbye, Jayden Zaul, junior president of the Twilight Sect... No, I should now address you as... General..."
At a cemetery, Alfius watered the flowers growing at a grave.
"Thank you, Sunny. I've avenged you. I'm sure you know that."
Beside him, Ply erected a headstone for Herman.
"Grandpa, I've avenged you."
At a nearby tree, Mosley yawned lazily.
When the two finished paying their respects, the three headed to the airport.
"Do you have to leave today?" Alfius asked sadly.
"Yeah. Things back in Drakonia seem to still be going on, so I need to hurry back. How troublesome!" Molsey complained.
"How are you feeling?" Ply asked.
"Thank goodness you used your body to absorb the impact of the attack. But the fact you could still be pieced back together despite how shattered you were... Mr. Motsey, what on earth...”
