Chapter 1598 A Decade of Rehearsal

"Well, let's do it your way then," Soon, a clear and melodious voice answered just as Sally was curious to see how Elijah would respond. "Elijah, I'm serious!" Sally frowned.

Elijah looked at her and replied, "Ms. Campbell, you won't find anyone more serious than I am."

"I won't marry in secret!" Sally continued determinedly, "I want the proper rituals, a grand wedding with formal meetings and gifts..."

"All of that will be in place," Elijah answered hesitantly. "Do you want the wedding to take place in Willowbrook City?"

Sally was surprised that Elijah knew. She looked at him in astonishment and nodded.

"I'll start arranging things at dawn," Elijah said, "I will honor your wishes regarding your father. I'll invite him if you want him to come. If not, I will only inform him through a message. I'll prepare the dowry. The engagement gifts will be as you wish. All the financial aspects will be managed under your account..."

"Elijah, that's enough," Sally interrupted. She raised her hands.

Elijah stopped talking.

"How did you become so skilled at this?" Sally asked.

Elijah's attractive eyes were on her. They were as calm and serene as a tranquil lake. He answered earnestly, "Because I've fantasized about it many times. I practiced it repeatedly. I filled in any missing pieces and made numerous adjustments to perfect them. So, you can rest assured that I won't miss any details."

Sally felt a tightness in her chest.

It all felt surreal. No one had ever considered her this way before.

"I'm not worthy of this." Sally choked up, revealing her inner thoughts.

"Yes, you are." Elijah hesitated as if making a significant decision. His large hand covered hers and gripped tightly. "You have made me consider leaving my monastic lifestyle, someone I desire to be with. Wha about you? You deserve everything."

Sally was in a daze as she walked hand in hand with the man she nearly married ten years ago.

She wasn't in a hurry to obtain the marriage certificate.

They continued to complete the second half of their journey.

And when the trip finally ended, she confidently went through the process of marrying Elijah.

Elijah was indeed a remarkable presence.

After just a month of being together, Sally felt like she was being healed every day.

Childhood wounds, the pain of losing her parents, the betrayal by her trusted sister, and the sixteen years of longing for Gideon were like rain, falling gently.

He nourished the barren land of her life.

Sally double-checked her social media accounts to see whether Gideon had contacted her after stepping ashore.

Still, they were empty. At that moment, Sally felt relieved. It was Gideon's choice.

And she opened her heart to a new love as she approached her 18th birthday.

Sally shifted her thoughts and smiled at Elijah.

"I feel like having cheese fondue!"

Elijah nodded. "Then let's go have cheese fondue."

Just as they stepped out, they ran into Bob.

"Sally, Uncle Elijah, are you two sneaking out for good food again without inviting me?"

"We're on a date. Why would we bring you along?" Sally was straightforward. She was without any pretense.

"I have spent the entire day assisting you both with the wedding preparations, from printing invitations to scouting venues. Will it be easy for me?"

"Fine, we'll take you with us, but you're treating!" Sally nodded enthusiastically.
