Ruth's voice was faint and barely discernible.

It seemed as if it was spoken from the depths of the netherworld instead of the human realm.

Yesseca's heart shuddered.

"Ruth, where are you now?" she asked immediately.

For a long time, no answer came.

Yesseca grew increasingly anxious. She raised her voice, "Ruth, answer me! Where are you?"

Ruth finally responded, "Clementine Residential."

Clementine Residential?

Was that a hotel?

However, since Ruth was now in a hotel, add to the fact her odd way of speaking, this must mean that the child had already been given away to the Quartley Palace?

Yesseca quickly replied "Ruth, has your child been taken by the people from the Quartley Palace? If so, come and find me. You remembered what I told you before, right? Come find me." "Okay." Ruth's voice could still barely be heard. Once she got her affirmation, Yesseca could finally breathe out a sigh of relief.

"I'll wait for you then, you just come on over now."

"Okay."

After she hung up her phone, Yesseca waited vigilantly at the store. Day soon turned to night, but still no Ruth.

Yesseca called Ruth once more, but this time her call went straight to voicemail.

Yesseca panicked.

She was afraid that something had happened to Ruth.

She knew something wasn't right with her voice when she first heard it!

Since she had this suspicion, she should have known that Ruth wouldn't come at all!

In her panic, Yesseca seeked out Preslie and frantically asked her whether there was a hotel called Clementine Residential in Nashaland.

Luckily enough, Preslie did know about it.

Back then, she constantly ran all over Nashaland on her own in search of good food, and just so happened to see Clementine Residential in passing.

It was because her favorite fruit was clementines that it had left such a deep impression on her.

"I know of it," Preslie said. "Only it's not a hotel, it's a guesthouse. A tiny guesthouse."

"Preslie, take me there now. I want to go to this guesthouse." Yesseca urged.

What's wrong with Yesseca?

Why did she want to gallivant all the way to a guesthouse in Nashaland?

"Yesseca," she started in confusion. "Why do you want to go there?"

Yesseca didn't have time to explain, "Don't ask me now. Take me there first, I'll tell you on the way." "But Yesseca, that guesthouse is in Nashatand. Didn't you say that you won't go back there?" Preslie

reminded her.

"It's because of a friend that I must go this instant!" Yesseca nearly screamed in frustration. "Preslie, you're quite proficient in driving now right? Then take me there, if you're not, I'll get a taxi." "I am proficient, I'll take you there." Preslie relented.

Not too long ago, both of them had purchased a car as the store expanded further and they found that they needed one to cover their transport needs.

As Preslie had interest in driving, she signed up for lessons and got her driver's license.

It could be said that Preslie wasn't well-versed in many things, but she had talent when it comes to driving She was only at it for a short time, yet the moment she's behind the wheel, she didn't seem to beca complete novice at all.

The car drove all the way to Nashaland.

On the way, Yesseca told Preslie about what had transpired with Ruth.

After she got the whole story, even Preslie got anxious.

"Then we have to get there quickly. She must be miserable to death since her son had been taken away. We have to bring her with us, otherwise there would be trouble!" Yesseca also had the same line of thought.

Previously, she had been too

optimistic. When she saw Ruth that day at the funeral, as she seemed to be in good-spirits, she just assumed that she had thought things through and gave it no further thought. The only thing she did was offer Ruth an invitation to come find her at any time.
