Since Rorita had already asked such a question, Ruth had no choice but to admit, "Yes, Ms. Cowell."

From the way Ruth had brought up Yesseca, Rorita could deduce that not only did Ruth know her, she was quite familiar with Yesseca as well. Rorita couldn't help asking, "Is Yesseca an excellent woman?"

Not hiding a single thing from Rorita, Ruth said, "Yes, she is. Yesseca is a wonderful girl... and she's pure-hearted yet brave and kind."

Ruth did not know if Rorita would grow upset if she continued to compliment Yesseca in front of her.

However, even if that were the case, Ruth couldn't lie and bad-mouth Yesseca, so she had no choice but to speak honestly. Hearing Ruth's words, Rorita fell silent.

She lowered her head, her eyelashes fluttering gently. Nobody knew what she was thinking.

Ruth kept quiet as well, not daring to ask Rorita anything.

After a long while, Rorita spoke, "Truth be told, you

didn't need to speak so much on her behalf. Yesseca must be a wonderful woman for Mr. Tremaine to be so caught up on her."

Ruth had no idea how to respond.

"Do you know why Yesseca broke up with Mr. Tremaine?" Rorita asked again.

Ruth shook her head.

She was uncertain about the reason they had broken things off.

After all, when she had left Quartley Palace, Tremaine and Yesseca had still been joined by the hip.

Seeing Ruth shake her head, Rorita let out a bitter laugh.

She said faintly, "I never managed to figure out why Mr. Tremaine would break up with Yesseca. He used to love her so much to the point where he had gone against the entirety of Nashaland. Why did they suddenly split up?" By then, Rorita paused before continuing, "So, you were a servant in the Quartley Palace? While you were there, was Yesseca still staying there? Did Mr. Tremaine treat her extraordinarily well?

Rorita asked the last question slowly.

There was a flash of pain in her heart as she spoke.

How could she not feel heartbroken, asking about how well her husband had treated another woman?

Ruth hesitated for a moment before

answering honestly, "Yes, Mr.

Tremaine treated Yesseca extremely well had never seen him treat another woman that nice."

Rorita smiled.

It was tinged with a little bitterness.

Rorita said in a low voice, "I know."

"Ms. Cowell, you're a wonderful woman as well," Ruth interjected. "I believe that Mr. Tremaine will take a fancy to your personality too."

Ruth's words were not to please Rorita. Instead, she felt that since Tremaine had married Rorita, that meant that he wanted to forget Yesseca. At the very least, he had to have the slightest bit of interest in Ronita in order to marry her.

Rorita was a nice and pleasant woman as well. It would only be a matter of time before Tremaine would take a liking to her.

Such a statement was a little unfair towards Yesseca.

However, there was no other way.

The two of them had already broken up. For them to find new relationships was natural.

Ruth's words made Rorita tear up a little. Suddenly, she asked, "Ruth, have you ever loved someone?"

Ruth was stunned.

She had no idea why Rorita had asked such a question.

For a moment, she didn't know how to answer Rorita.

Seeing that Ruth was staying silent

Rorita continued, "If you've ever

loved someone, you would

understand why Mr. Tremaine would never take a fancy to me."

Ruth was in a state of confusion.
