Episode 94

Once again, she found herself fooled by her own delusions.

Despite the glaring truth, she had crafted a fantasy of him looking after her.

Indeed, when she had been unwell before, he hadn’t cared.

Why would he now, simply because she was drunk?

She fought to suppress the pang of humiliation threatening to overwhelm her, convincing herself this painful reminder was necessary.

It was better this way—less messy, with no need for uncomfortable encounters today.

Perhaps, given time, the embers of her feelings for him would burn out entirely, leaving her free from any lingering sentiment.

Once Willow left the room, Sandra gathered her belongings and prepared to leave.

Stepping outside, she checked her phone, noting a string of missed calls from Camille.

As she was about to call back, her phone buzzed again—Camille.

“Sandra, are you okay? Yesterday, when the driver went to pick you up, the staff at Oasis Club said you left with someone else.

I’ve been trying to figure out who, but no one would tell me! I was about to call the police!”

Touched by her friend’s concern, Sandra suppressed her frustration and answered with a weary tone.

“I ran into Elijah last night and, in my confusion, mistook him for a gigolo.

He took me to Bayview Villa.”

Hearing Sandra was safe, Camille’s tension eased, her curiosity piqued.

“You thought he was a gigolo? Did anything… happen between you two?”

Sandra dismissed the idea hastily.

“No, of course not.

Nothing happened.

How could it? I ended up throwing up all over his car.

He just dropped me off and left.”

Still, the memory of their fleeting moment of closeness lingered, unsettling her.

Surely, a kiss that hadn’t even happened didn’t really count, did it?

Camille, oblivious to the shift in Sandra’s tone and feeling a bit guilty herself, offered cheerfully, “Why don’t we go shopping and grab lunch today? No bars, I promise.

Just a relaxing day for the two of us.

How about Evergreen Plaza?”

With no other plans, Sandra agreed.

“Alright.

See you at Evergreen Plaza soon.”

Unbeknownst to Sandra, Willow had been watching her covertly.

As Sandra left, Willow lingered by the window, picked up the phone, and reported in a deferential tone, “I relayed everything exactly as instructed.

She seemed quite upset and didn’t even think to verify with Mr.

James.

She just left, looking rather downcast.
