My Coldhearted Ex demands a Remarriage -
Chapter 54
Episode 54
The thought stirred an irritation deep within her.
Crossing her arms, she tilted her head and smirked.
“Yes, I leaked it.
What of it? She bulldozes over me for her spotlight, and I’m supposed to just stand there and applaud? Do I look like a doormat to you?” Elijah’s expression grew darker as curious onlookers began to gather.
“Get in the car.
Do you enjoy turning everything into a spectacle?” Sensing the tension, Oliver exited the vehicle quickly and opened the back door.
“Ms.
Elizabeth…” “Oh, so now I’m the one causing you shame? Why don’t you just sign the divorce papers and put an end to this? Once we part ways, my actions will no longer tarnish your precious reputation, Mr.
James.”
At the mention of “divorce,” a shadow crossed Elijah’s face, his eyes narrowing.
“Do as you wish.
But consider this your last warning—Sandra’s health is delicate.
She’s vulnerable and doesn’t need the added strain.
Keep your distance from her if you know what’s best for you.” Elizabeth’s lips curled into a mocking smile, her tone dripping with irony.
“Oh, now I’m the one tormenting her? Why not tell your darling Sandra to steer clear of me instead? But no, Mr.
James, you seem to thrive on this drama.” “What nonsense are you babbling now? I regret ever letting you step into this industry.
It’s turned you into someone unrecognizable,” Elijah retorted, rubbing his temple as a dull ache began to form.
Elizabeth arched an eyebrow, her voice sweet yet cutting.
“You detest the industry, yet Sandra is part of it too.
Funny, isn’t it? And let me remind you—wife or not, I have my own autonomy.
If I’ve broken any laws, let the courts handle it.
There’s no need for you to play judge, Mr.
James.”
“So this is where all your acting practice goes—fighting with me?” Elijah shot back coldly.
Feigning innocence, Elizabeth quipped with a sly smile, “Ah, praise from you, Mr.
James, is such a rare treat.” The tension between them was almost tangible, a heavy silence hanging in the air like an impending storm.
Oliver stepped forward, his hands raised in a gesture of appeasement.
“Ms.
Elizabeth, perhaps it would be better to continue this discussion in the car?”
Elizabeth scoffed, her tone sharp.
“Save that ‘Ms.
Elizabeth’ for Sandra.
I’ve had enough.” Turning on her heel, she began to walk away, her stance resolute.
Oliver moved hesitantly to block her path, his voice quiet but urgent.
“Ms.
Elizabeth…” “Move!” “Let her go.” Both Elijah and Elizabeth spoke at the same moment, their commands ringing clear and unyielding.
