Episode 40

Elizabeth texted Camille, explaining her dilemma.

Camille replied almost immediately.

“Do we really need to investigate further? I’m sure Sandra is behind all this!” she responded, but still went ahead to verify her hunch.

A few moments later, Camille sent a shocking screenshot that confirmed Elizabeth’s suspicions.

Armed with this information, Elizabeth quickly forwarded the details to Ruby.

Ruby, who had been trying to downplay the situation, couldn’t hold back her reaction.

A flurry of voice notes followed.

“We’ve got the leverage now to expose the mastermind behind all this.

I remember there’s some off-the-record footage from the auditions.

I’ll get on it.

Once we have those videos, we can really put Sandra in her place.”

“By the way, is there some hidden grudge between you two? Why does she keep coming after you? From the moment you entered showbiz, she’s been trying to outdo you, and now this! It looks like she’s trying to push you out of the industry! Probably feeling untouchable with Mr.

Norris backing her.

But don’t worry, this time I’ll make sure she faces the consequences.

We can’t let her walk all over us!”

The second audition, involving only two candidates and financial stakes, had led the director to skip documentation—something Sandra likely anticipated, knowing that Elizabeth had no way to prove her innocence.

Elizabeth shared this with Ruby.

Ruby gave a knowing smile and said, “How about we dig up Sandra’s first audition record? Even with more actresses involved, her unremarkable performance still won her the lead role.

If that gets out, it would definitely cause a stir and maybe even make someone teach her a lesson.”

Elizabeth trusted Ruby’s strategic mind entirely and felt no need to add anything further.

Just then, she received an unexpected message from her lawyer, who had been handling her script deals.

“Ms.

Spencer, are you still awake?”

The contract had been finalized.

Elizabeth was taken aback by the question.

With a puzzled expression, she replied, “No, what’s going on?”

The lawyer, sounding calm yet direct, explained, “The company that purchased your script, Silver Elephant Media, wants to meet with you.”

“Why?” Elizabeth’s voice carried a hint of suspicion as she raised an eyebrow.

She preferred to avoid complicated social interactions, having delegated all the dealings related to her script’s copyright to her legal team, thereby avoiding direct contact with the buyers.

This unexpected request for a meeting piqued her curiosity.

The lawyer continued, “They’re really excited about your screenplay and are preparing to compete with another drama, ‘Raging Sun’.

Sandra Nash has already secured the lead role in that project, and since every other contender is already committed, they’re keen to give audition opportunities to any actresses interested in the female lead role.

They value your perspective as the script’s creator and want you there.”

A realization struck Elizabeth at that moment.

The character in her script was a reflection of herself—no one else could portray that role as perfectly as she could.

Sandra had not only stolen her husband but also her role, all while trying to ruin her reputation.

It was clear Sandra was attempting to suppress her.

Though Elizabeth had been compliant in the past, she had her limits.

Faced with shrinking opportunities to fight back, fate had finally given her an opening.
