My Coldhearted Ex demands a Remarriage -
Chapter 322
Elizabeth was about to throw the frog away when Elijah quickly took it from her, grabbing it out of her hand.
She glanced at him, surprised by his sudden move.
His fingers curled around the frog, squeezing its grotesque face, making it appear even more unattractive.
Oddly enough, the frogs squished expression resembled Elijahs stern face.
Elizabeth couldnt help but find the similarity amusing.
She bit her lip to stifle a laugh, then, forcing a serious expression, asked, Didnt you say you didnt want it? Elijah placed the frog in the pocket of his suit near the car door, his face unreadable.
Once a gift is given, you cant take it back.
Elizabeth, caught up in the absurdity of the moment, let go of her frustration.
She patted the frogs squashed face and teased, It kind of looks like you, doesnt it? Elijah held the frog close, leaned in, and kissed her cheek.
Well, then, youre a frog too.
Elizabeth pushed the frog away in mock disgust.
Me? Im so gorgeous, even as a frog, Id be the princess.
Elijah, clearly having fun, squished the frog into various shapes.
Then Id be the prince.
Elizabeth paused for a second, surprised by such a playful remark from the usually serious Elijah.
She gave him a light shove and burst out laughing.
Thats such a cheesy joke.
So cold.
He watched her laugh, her eyes squinting with joy and her smile bright as sunlight.
A warmth filled his chest.
Sometimes, it was worth it to let go of small things just to see her laugh.
It suddenly hit him that he was starting to understand how marriage truly worked.
At Bayview Villa, beyond the newly landscaped green area, a stranger approached Ms.
Sandra, handing her several bags.
Be sure to discard the old ones.
Dont get them confused.
Inside the bags were items exactly like the supplements Elizabeth had been drinking.
Understood, Ms.
Sandra responded, then hurried back to the villa after a quick farewell.
In her room, she meticulously swapped the packaging of the new supplements with Elizabeths.
Ms.
Sandra shoved the original supplements into a plastic bag, preparing to throw it away, but then she hesitated.
This was the supplements Elijah had gone through so much to acquire; surely, it must be important.
She quickly grabbed her phone and typed a text to her son, Emilio: Head over to Bayview Villa.
Ive got some supplements for you.
Give it to your girlfriend, and hurry up and make me a strong, healthy grandson.
She sent the message but followed up with another for extra caution: Call me when you arrive.
Dont enter.
Wait by the road, and Ill bring it to you.
Thirty minutes later, Oliver drove into the neighborhood.
Elizabeth looked out the window and, to her surprise, saw Ms.
Sandra sneaking out holding a plastic bag.
Stop the car, Elizabeth ordered, tapping the back of Olivers seat.
Confused, Oliver glanced at her through the rearview mirror but followed her command and hit the brakes.
By now, Ms.
Sandras authority was as powerful as Mr.
Jamessif not moreso her commands were followed without question.
Elizabeth rolled down the window, leaned out, and shouted, Ms.
Sandra! Where are you headed? Ms.
Sandra froze, her body stiffening as if shed been caught in the act.
M-Ms.
Sophia? Youre back? she stammered, Elizabeth ignored Ms.
Sandras stammer and asked again, Where are you going? Uh… nowhere, really.
Just throwing out the trash, Ms.
Sandra stammered, her eyes darting around as she awkwardly tried to hide the plastic bag behind her back, hoping Elizabeth wouldnt notice.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow.
She knew the villas trash was always taken care of by the cleaning staff, so it didnt make sense that Ms.
Sandra would be handling it herself.
Something was off.
Without saying anything further, she stepped out of the car, opened the door, and extended her hand.
Her voice was steady and commanding.
Hand it over.
