“What? They’re really thinking about Elizabeth for the lead?” Elva exclaimed, her voice full of disbelief.

Sandra, caught off guard, stumbled for a moment.

Elva, furrowing her brows, continued, “Do you think she’s doing this on purpose? Given her rocky relationship with Mr.

James and their upcoming divorce, could she be trying to take the role from you out of spite?”

“Maybe not,” Sandra murmured, biting her lip, torn between doubt and acceptance.

“But if their breakup is really related to me, then she’s justified in being angry with me.

In the end, it all comes back to me.

If she wants the role that badly, it’s hers for the taking.

It’s a shame, though.

The story really spoke to me.”

Despite her attempt to appear gracious, a trace of regret crossed Sandra’s face.

Elva reached out, offering a comforting hand on her shoulder, and said, “Oh, Sandra, you’re too kind! Remember, it was Elizabeth who stepped in between you and Mr.

James, not the other way around.

She’s the one who owes you an apology! And don’t forget, you’ve given so much for this role, even compromising your health.

I’m the only one who truly understands how hard you’ve worked.

You deserve this part—why should you give it up for her?”

With a mix of anger and determination, Elva pulled out her phone, ready to take action.

Sandra’s face showed shock.

“Elva, what are you doing? You’re not seriously thinking about calling Elijah, are you? Let’s not drag him into this over something so trivial.”

“Don’t worry about it.” Elva shrugged off Sandra’s hand, turned slightly, and proceeded to dial Elijah’s number.

Sandra made no attempt to intervene.

Instead, she stood back, watching Elva and listening quietly, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

Soon, Elijah’s clear, detached voice came through the phone.

“Yes, what is it?”

After a brief pause, Elva explained, “Mr.

James, I need to talk to you about Sandra.

She’s been throwing herself into rehearsals for the audition, day and night, to the point that her heart condition flared up again.

She’s even snuck off to the hospital a few times without telling anyone.

About the role…”

Elijah immediately focused on the pressing issue.

“Hospital? Why wasn’t I informed?”

Elva sensed his concern and guided the conversation accordingly.

“Mr.

James, Sandra didn’t want to worry you unnecessarily, which is why she kept it quiet.

But honestly, it’s nothing life-threatening.

You know about her delicate health.

Even the smallest stress can make it worse, and she tends to downplay it herself…”

She paused before shifting back to Sandra’s passion for the role.

“The real issue is how much she wants this part.

With her qualifications, she seemed like a sure choice, but unexpectedly, the production team changed their mind, and now…”

Elijah, ever sharp, caught on to Elva’s implication and interrupted.

“From now on, keep me informed about everything.

Tell Sandra to relax and not worry.

The female lead is definitely hers.

I’ll visit her once I’m back in Orkset.”

“Understood, and thank you for your generosity, Mr.

James.”

Elva ended the call with a grin and turned to Sandra.

“It’s all set.

I told Mr.

James that he’s too attached to you to ignore your situation.”

With a soft sigh, Sandra lowered her gaze, her tone apologetic.

“Thank you, Elva.

I’m sorry for the trouble I’ve caused you and Elijah.”

“Trouble? You’re my talent, and your victories are mine as well.

Who does Elizabeth think she is? She’s out of the picture but still dares to challenge you.

How can she not see that Elijah only has eyes for you? This is utterly ridiculous!”

Elva put her phone away and added, “But take it from someone who knows, Mr.

James’s attention goes beyond just fondness.

He seems willing to grant your every wish.

For someone of his caliber, that’s rare.

I don’t know what caused the breakup, but after all this time, maybe it’s worth rethinking.

Have you thought about rekindling things?”
