Given that the role being auditioned for was a leading lady, the room was filled with strikingly attractive women, each a vision of beauty.

However, the moment Elizabeth entered, her radiance caused a collective pause, her presence commanding everyone’s attention.

Though beautiful, Elizabeth was viewed as a rival.

Almost immediately, a wave of competitiveness swept over the other actresses.

Murmurs filled the air as they sized her up, none recognizing the fresh-faced beauty among them.

Her stunning appearance, combined with her anonymity, led many to believe Elizabeth was an inexperienced newcomer with no ties to the industry.

Skepticism spread like wildfire as they muttered under their breath, “Just another gorgeous girl with no talent, hoping for a big break.”

At that moment, Sandra made her entrance, enveloped by a crowd of onlookers.

Among those auditioning, she held the highest prestige and had access to a private lounge just for herself.

She had arrived even before Elizabeth, but only joined the others when the staff called everyone for the lottery and script handout.

Upon spotting Elizabeth, Sandra hesitated for a brief moment before coolly shifting her gaze away.

Her arrival stirred a wave of surprise among the crowd.

With her magnetic aura and influential backing, the possibility of anyone else taking the female lead seemed almost impossible.

Disheartened yet pragmatic, some of the women believed that if the auditions didn’t go their way, it could be advantageous to get on Sandra’s good side.

So, after collecting their numbers and scripts, several participants gravitated toward her, showering her with flattery.

“Sandra, your talent and fame are truly unparalleled.

The lead role is undoubtedly meant for you.

We’re here more to observe than to compete.”

“Absolutely, Sandra, with your track record, who could possibly challenge you? We’re just here to make up the numbers.”

Some had caught the fleeting exchange of looks between Sandra and Elizabeth and whispered thoughtfully, “Certainly.

But it seems some are overreaching themselves.

An upstart with no real experience, lost in delusions of grandeur, hoping to snag the lead.”

“Maybe it’s because the auditions are during the day.

She seems out of her depth.

Does she think her looks could eclipse Sandra? Does she even have what it takes to act?”

“No matter how stunning she is, she doesn’t have Sandra’s commanding aura of a leading lady.

At most, she could pull off a villainous supporting role.”

The room filled with laughter, all eyes turning toward Elizabeth with a knowing glance.

Ruby opened her mouth to snap back, but Elizabeth gently squeezed her hand, a silent plea for her to hold her tongue.

Then, Elizabeth’s gaze lifted to meet Sandra’s.

By some twist of fate, Sandra was already staring back at her.

Their eyes locked, and a subtle smile played on Sandra’s lips.

Just then, a staff member holding a clipboard called from the door, “Number 7, Elizabeth , you’re up.”

Elizabeth tucked her script away and rose to her feet.

Approaching the door, she halted and spoke with composed irritation, “It feels like I’ve wandered into a gathering of fortune-tellers, where everyone judges acting skills and star quality based solely on appearances.

Sure, good looks may not carry much weight, but I’ll take the compliments regardless.”

Normally, Elizabeth paid little attention to her looks, but today’s constant comparisons to Sandra grated on her.

With calculated spite, she added, “Actually, I find your envy more flattering than any admirer’s praise.”
