Eleanor asked, “Is that jade pendant a family heirloom? There were two, right? One featuring a dragon design, and the other a phoenix?”

Selina nodded.

“Yes, my pendant bears the phoenix design.

The other one, with the dragon design, was buried with my godmother’s deceased daughter.
