Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 353 Why Has He Become So Paranoid?

"Half a year without sex?" Alaric groaned, feeling the weight of despair. "That's straight-up torture."

Stellan gave him a swift kick and snapped, "Seriously? You can't go six months without it? It's for your health, dude. Chill."

"If you weren't right here, I could probably go forever. But having you so close and not being able to do anything? That's just cruel," Alaric whined.

"Cruel or not, you gotta deal with it. Focus on getting better, and everything will be cool later. Now get off me!" Stellan ordered, "I'm beat, I need some sleep."

With a sigh, Alaric moved off her but then pulled her close, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

"I know you're tired, babe. Just sleep," Alaric murmured.

Stellan closed her eyes and let out a long, lazy sigh.

That night, Stellan slept soundly in Alaric's arms. When she woke up early in the morning, Alaric was already out of bed. She rubbed her eyes, got up, slipped on her slippers, and wandered out of the bedroom. Downstairs, she saw Alaric setting breakfast on the table.

"You're up, babe. Go wash up and come eat," Alaric said, smiling.

Stellan grinned, "You're such a sweetheart, making breakfast so early."

Alaric chuckled, "Well, I don't have a job right now, living off you, so I gotta pull my weight somehow."

"Such a smartass!" Stellan teased, then went to wash up and sat down to eat.

Despite the teasing, Stellan felt a warm glow inside. She loved their life together. Alaric had finally taken a break to focus on his health, and she couldn't be happier.

After breakfast, Stellan changed her clothes, and Alaric handed her her bag.

"Honey, I'm off to work," Stellan said.

"Alright," Alaric said, wrapping an arm around her waist and kissing her. "Drive safe and don't overdo it."

"Got it," Stellan replied, returning his kiss before heading out the door.

After watching her leave, Alaric went back to his study. He encrypted a folder with all the info he had on the Storm Group cases.

A bit later, Mia knocked and came in, saying, "Mr. Knight, Josep is here."

"Thanks," Alaric said, shutting down his computer and heading out of the study.

"Hey, Josep," Alaric greeted.

Josep looked him over and said, "You're looking better and better. Recovery's going well, huh?"

Alaric smiled, "All thanks to your skills and Galatea's care."

"And your strong willpower," Josep added. "Alright, lie down, and I'll give you your treatment injection."

"Okay," Alaric nodded.

He went back to the bedroom and lay down. Josep quickly administered the injection.

"Josep, I figure it's all about regular injections now. You can prep the meds, and I'll have someone pick 'em up. Galatea can handle the shots. It's kinda a hassle for you to come all this way," Alaric suggested. "No biggie. I'm not swamped or anything," Josep replied. "You're Galatea's hubby, and she cares a lot about you, so I see you as family too. It's no trouble at all."

"Yeah, it's clear you treat Galatea like your own. She always tells me how much she respects you and that she wouldn't be where she is without you," Alaric said, feeling grateful.

"Galatea's a rare gem-passionate about medicine and with a big heart. People like her are hard to find," Josep praised without hesitation. Alaric smiled. "Yeah, she really is."

"Totally," Josep sighed. "After everything her family's been through, it's amazing she still dedicates herself to medicine and helping others." "You know about the Storm Family's past?" Alaric was surprised. Stellan had changed her name to Galatea when she moved to Country M. Even though Josep highly regarded Stellan, he was just her mentor, her superior.

Despite knowing each other for so long, she never told Alaric she was Stellan. How did Josep know?

"Yeah, I know," Josep replied. "I found out after she resigned and went back to her country. I felt for her when I saw her job hunting while pregnant. Later, I learned about her past and felt even more protective of her. "Alaric, Galatea's a rare gem. You gotta treat her right. I noticed your mom isn't too kind to her. Don't let your mom bully Galatea."

"That won't happen, Josep. Promise. And thanks for looking out for her all these years," Alaric assured.

"It's my duty." Josep observed Alaric for a moment and said, "The treatment injections are having less and less reaction, which is good. Rest up, and I'll be on my way."

"Take care, Josep," Alaric said, starting to get up to see him off. But Josep quickly said, "You just had your injection, don't move around. I'll see myself out. I'll come back next week for your next shot." "Alright, thanks, Josep." Alaric watched Josep leave, then fell into deep thought. After a while, he found his thoughts amusing.

Why was he getting so paranoid? He was really overthinking things.

Alaric closed his eyes and took a nap. When he woke up, he called Neil. To his surprise, Neil said, "Alaric, you called at the perfect time. I was just about to call you." "What's up?" Alaric asked.

Neil didn't answer directly but said, "Are you busy right now? If not, let's meet and talk."

"I'm free for the next six months. Come over to my place, and we can chat in person," Alaric said.

"Alright, I'll wrap up some work and head over," Neil said, then hung up.
