Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 255 Reencounter

By the middle of the night, Aurora couldn't stay awake anymore. Cormac put a coat over her and let her sleep against him, even though he was still wide awake.

As he stared at the entertainment center, Cormac seemed lost in thought until morning finally came.

"Aurora, let's go," Cormac gently nudged her awake. She quickly got up, and he took her hand, leading her inside.

The venue was crowded, yet Aurora was excited. "So many attendees! Our school events never had this many. It's incredible."

Cormac wasn't a fan of the crowd, but seeing Aurora happy made it worth it.

Aurora was always optimistic and brave, never complaining about anything. She was the reason he managed to keep going.

They spent most of the day exploring the entertainment center. Aurora was having a blast, seeing things she usually couldn't and riding big amusement rides for the first time. Her joy made it all worthwhile for Cormac. "Cormac, I heard there's a superstar performing at the Arts Park. Can we go see? I've never seen a celebrity in person," Aurora said.

Cormac shrugged. "Celebrities are just regular people."

The Nash family, running an entertainment business and managing numerous artists, wasn't easily impressed by celebrities, considering Orion's own superstar status.

"But seeing someone from TV in real life is still cool. They look so beautiful on TV. I'd love to see them up close. If I got an autograph, my classmates would be so jealous," Aurora added. Cormac smiled. He was here to make Aurora happy.

"If you want to go, then we'll go."

"Thank you, Cormac."

Worried about the crowd, Cormac held onto Aurora tightly.

On the way to the Arts Park, they passed a huge poster of Rowena, but Cormac didn't notice.

The Arts Park was packed from an earlier celebrity performance. They couldn't get in at first, but when the crowd thinned out, they squeezed in, only to find the performance had ended. "What a pity, we missed the superstar," Aurora said, disappointed.

"It's okay, they're just regular people. Don't be sad, Aurora," Cormac reassured her.

"Alright, I'll go to the restroom," Aurora said.

Cormac waited outside as Aurora emerged, skipping joyfully.

"Cormac, I just heard in the restroom that the superstar is in the backstage lounge right now. Lots of people are going in to ask for photos and autographs. Can you take me there?"

Cormac didn't really want to go, but since he rarely got to spend time with Aurora, he agreed. "Alright, let's go."

He took Aurora's hand and headed to the backstage lounge. Just as Aurora said, it was packed with people asking for autographs and photos.

The crowd was overwhelming, and soon they got separated. Seeing Aurora get pushed away, Cormac anxiously called out, "Aurora, Aurora!" "Cormac!"

The crowd kept pushing forward, forcing Aurora to move with them. Cormac was frantic, trying to push through but finding it tough.

"Everyone, don't push, be safe!" The celebrity's bodyguards and managers were shouting, worried about a potential stampede, trying to keep order.

"Alright, thank you all for your enthusiasm, but the artist needs to rest now. The autograph session is over. Please exit in an orderly manner and cooperate. Thank you."

The staff kept shouting, but it was hard to control the crowd. They kept pushing forward, not cooperating at all.

Aurora was pushed to the front and fell. Just as she was about to be trampled, Rowena, dressed in a high-end gown, quickly stepped forward and helped her up. "Are you okay?" she asked. Seeing a child being pushed, the security personnel became more resolute and shouted, "A child has been pushed! Everyone, be careful! The autograph session is over. Please exit now!"

The security guards managed to channel the crowd out. Cormac, moving against the flow, finally made it to the front, constantly shouting, "Aurora, Aurora." Finally seeing Aurora, Cormac ran over, picked her up, and asked worriedly, "Are you okay, Aurora? Did you get hurt?"

Before Aurora could answer, Rowena spoke up, "Is this your child? You must keep a close eye on her. There are a lot of people today; don't let her get lost." Hearing this voice, Cormac was stunned.

"Cormac, she just saved me. Otherwise, I would have been trampled," Aurora quickly told him.

Cormac stood up in a daze. When his eyes fell on Rowena, it was like a light flashed before him, just like ten years ago.

Rowena's performance on the guitar and her singing captivated him at the spring concert at school. Now, in a luxurious, understated gown with exquisite makeup, she was even more stunning. Rowena was like the brightest star in the sky, incredibly beautiful, completely different from ten years ago. Back then, Rowena often felt inferior and lacked confidence, but now she was entirely different. "Cormac?" Rowena exclaimed in surprise.

Cormac snapped out of it. He wanted to say he wasn't Cormac, that Rowena had mistaken him for someone else, but he couldn't say anything.

After their breakup, Rowena disappeared without a trace for so many years. He had thought they might meet again someday, but he never expected it to be at the most inopportune time.

"Yes." Cormac felt very awkward at this moment. His eyes darted around, completely at a loss, not knowing what to say. "I see you've achieved your dreams. Congratulations."
