Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 253 As If It Were a Lifetime Ago

After Alaric finished talking, he shot Ambrose a piercing look. Ambrose was taken aback; he hadn't expected Alaric to figure out so much. Alaric said, "The evidence you have incriminates Stuart or Todd."

"You despise Stuart and Todd. So you wanna use this evidence to blackmail Stellan into coming back to you, and then you'llexpose it to take down Stuart and Todd." Alaric smirked, "You get Stellan and a spot on the Vale Group aboard. Nice plan, Ambrose."

Ambrose replied calmly, "Mr. Knight, with such imagination, you should write novels. You claim Stuart had me infiltrate Storm Group to bankrupt it. What's the motive?" "The Vale family's business is abroad, different from the Storm family's. Stuart rarely comes back, let alone holds grudges."

Ambrose continued, "Why would Stuart go to such lengths to frame the Storm family? There's no benefit for him or the Vale family. Stuart doesn't waste time on pointless schemes."

"I admit, your reasoning was good, but it lacks motive, so it falls apart. Even if everything you said is true, where's your evidence?"

"Mr. Vale, don't rush," Alaric smiled. "I'll find the evidence and then figure out your motive."

Ambrose forced a smile, "Alright, I'm looking forward to it."

Alaric gave Ambrose a cold look, then walked in, with Ambrose following.

The entertainment center was huge, so Alaric left the inspection to the professionals.

It took them a whole day to finish and sign off on the inspection.

Ambrose asked, "Mr. Knight, can I hand over the project now?"

Alaric signed the final confirmation. "Yes, our cooperation is officially over."

Ambrose said, "Mr. Knight, it was a pleasure working with you. Thanks to this project, Far East International's reputation is strong now. It's all thanks to you."

If Alaric had known about Ambrose and Stellan's past, he wouldn't have cooperated, but life was full of coincidences.

"In terms of work, you're impeccable. But your character is deeply disappointing," Alaric said bluntly.

Alaric snorted, "If you can't be a good person, your work won't matter. Remember, if you play with fire, you'll get burned."

Ambrose forced a smile, "Thanks for the reminder. I've taken it to heart."

Alaric's eyes turned cold again, and he walked out of the entertainment center. With the inspection passed, their cooperation was over, and the project payment was settled today.

A substantial amount of money was deposited into Far East International's account. Word was that Todd's pharmaceutical equipment company was facing financial trouble, and this timely infusion of funds resolved Todd's urgent issue, much to Stuart's delight.

When Ambrose saw Stuart's call, he was shocked.

Stuart usually despised him. Even if there was something important, Stuart would have someone else notify him, never calling him personally.

What was up?

Ambrose answered, "Hello, Dad."

Stuart said, "Gavin, you did a great job on the Arizona project."

"Thanks, Dad. I'm really surprised you called," Ambrose replied.

Stuart chuckled, "I used to be too busy. Now that I've retired and handed the company to Todd, I have more free time."

Ambrose swallowed his anger. Was it just because Todd was Stuart's legitimate son? Todd was a reckless fool, yet Stuart handed the company to him.

"Dad, you've worked hard for so long; it's time to enjoy yourself," Ambrose said, playing along. "With Todd in charge, I'll fully support him, so you don't have to worry."

"With you supporting Todd, I have no worries. Just like this time, he relied on you when he had problems," Stuart continued. "I'm calling to discuss something. Arizona's economy is booming, and we can't miss out." "The board decided to continue projects in Arizona. There's a publicly traded jewelry company there, but due to internal conflicts, some executives were arrested, and others fled."

"The company is on the brink of bankruptcy. We've decided to acquire it and appoint Todd as the director. Since you're familiar with Arizona, we need you to support Todd closely." Ambrose clenched his fists. He had done such a good job in Arizona, creating so much profit for the Vale family.

But now, they were going to acquire a jewelry company and have Todd come over as the director. Stuart's favoritism was infuriating! "Alright, when Todd arrives, give me a call, and I'll pick him up. I'll fully support him," Ambrose said obediently.

Stuart laughed, "Good, I knew you would be reliable. Keep up the good work in Arizona."

After hanging up, Ambrose threw his phone away. One day, he would get rid of Stuart!

Soon, it was the opening day of the entertainment center, and it was buzzing with activity, with many domestic and foreign media present.

Last time, when Stellan Reassuring Clinic opened, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa didn't go, but this time they insisted on coming.

The high-profile kids quickly became media focal points, remaining unflustered in the face of numerous cameras.

Caspian smiled, "Hi, I'm Caspian. Thanks for coming today. My dad put a lot of effort into this entertainment center, and I hope everyone enjoys it."

Elisa added, "I'm Elisa. I hope everyone has a great time and finds good value here."

Everyone laughed at Elisa's comment. Harry glanced at her and said, "Cut the crap. Today's about Dad, so let's skip the interviews. We're just here to have fun; let us enjoy ourselves."

Everyone laughed again after Harry spoke. Since it was a global live broadcast, Aurora was also watching. She couldn't help but say, "They're so cute. They're so young and not afraid of so many cameras. It's amazing. I can't do it; I get nervous when I see so many people."

Seeing Caspian on TV, Cormac felt as if it were a lifetime ago.
